Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

They all mention zt-180. I'd still avoid the third one, as it looks dodgy.

EDIT: what I mean to say is that zt-180 is the new (good) one. Sorry for confusing with my expression.

Beware!

Thats just the normal telechips MID. They are counting the CPU and DSP clock speed together. The CPU is only 600MHz or 720MHz.

It looks like you were cheated. You need to demand a Zenithink ZT-180 unit as promised.

Thanks so much Icurafu. The spec just suddenly changed this morning. I'll request for order cancellation. Hope it can be done in time. Thanks again, you've saved me.

But... if it is the real Telechips "dual" (cpu+dsp) is not better than the fake ZT-180 "cortex A8" ?

At least the telechip (the real) would be faster than the faked one..

There is no such thing as a fake zt-180 because all zt-180s are ARM11. There never was a zt-180 with CortexA8. That was just a rumor that merchants used in their store and that Zenithink never bothered to correct.

Telechips is 600 or 720MHz ARM11 with 1080P DSP
ZT-1080 is 1000MHz ARM11 with 1080P DSP.

I have units with both of these and the ZT-180 feels atleast twice as fast on Android 2.1.

I'm confused now :(

On another thread of this forum someone said "avoid everything that is not Rockchip or Telechip"...

Do you know where to buy a real ZT-1080 ? A serious seller ?

I think that thread was to say, avoid VIA devices. However the new Android board with 256MB of ram is being sold in K-Mart and people like it.

Again, there is no fake ZT-180. Unless the seller is delivering something that is not as described.

Don't fall for cheap salesmanship I was contacted by Merimobiles and made aware of the cpu problem and they were very nice to me and when they found out they offered a refund or a discount!!!!!!!!!!!

And THIS WAS THE DAY THE CPU WAS FOUND OUT TO BE MISLABELED!

So I went ahead and got the Epad from them they were honest and upfront with me on the item and it was not a hassle!!!!!

"Hi as you may or may not already know from the news circulating on the internet, The Zenithink processor is clocked at 800Mhz and is a ARMv6 CPU. Please understand the original specs that we got from the Zenithink manufacturer is 1GHz processor, although after dissasembling the device as noted on many blogs, news websites and forum, we found out like many others that in reality the processor is a ARMv6 clocked at 800Mhz."
This is what they told me after they found out and they did it ASAP!!
From what I heard of the reviews the tablet is still a great tablet its just not a 1ghz Product.

ZT-180 800MHz processor 10" tablet
CPU is ARM 800MHz
Price is $219.99 plus shipping which still beats out the flatpad and alot of other companys!
Get it HERE!!!!
https://www.merimobiles.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MERI0512

So have no fears and order from Merimobiles!

Maybe it is best to say performance in order...

ZT180 256MB RAM
Telechips 256MB RAM
VIA 256MB RAM
RK2808 128MB RAM
VIA 128MB RAM

I started a live chat channel on IRC called #AndroidTablets You can find it on the freenode server
to join just type /server irc.freenode.net -j #androidtablets in a irc program or go here freenode Web IRC (qwebirc) and pick a name and Put #AndroidTablets in the channels box.

from what i've read there's still plenty of issues with firmware, and a whole load of things. I don't think its 2.2 upgradable either. I still suggest staying away from it. Get a nice, functional feature full 7 inch, or wait for the awesome 10" wave.

There is a few firmware issues yes but thats because it was made for the wrong processor there are devs from SDX and XDA both that are working on Custom Firmware for the tablet so it will be fixed soon, also it will still be upgradeable to Froyo (Android2.2) when the source code becomes available because the Samsung Acclaim is a 800hz processor with 128mb mem and it runs Froyo (Android2.2) so we will have to wait for a dev to make a Flashable Rom for the tablet.

I'm confident that this is one but won't know for sure until I receive it in a week or so. Their description seems solid and doesn't have contradicting specs like others. Have a chat to the seller - he seems to be on the ball

Wholesale-Strong Epad Tablet PC 10 inch Android 2.1 1GHz 256MB Mid UMPC Wifi HD Film

Thats just the RAM though not the video or CPU

It's the boards and the performance one will get using Android on it. Ram is a big impact. With only 128MB, you will always have trouble doing more things than one. Doubling it to 256MB greatly improves customer performance. Judging this from the performance of the VIA at 128 and 256.

Also, I own the top three boards, so I can judge first hand.

I only see/find development on XDA, and that is going into a Linux direction.

This is sad information for me. My order has shipped today AM, not in time for cancellation. Confirmed with the seller that it is Telechips. The seller insists that it is 1Ghz FSB, Dual core (which i don't know exists).

Anyway, i have last chance to send back the item since the spec does not match with the time i ordered (good that i ordered at Alibaba).

I am total newbie for Android, never use it before. I wonder how can i notice that my item is slow or fast comparing to others. Is there good benchmark software that we can use performance index to compare?

Always thanks to everyone here.

The problem with most sellers on Alibaba is that they tell you crap about the specs. I've had one seller telling me it was an IntelDuoCore and then on the same spec-sheet telling me it was a Rockchip and a ZT-180.....
If the specs don't match up I'm not going to buy there, you never know what you will be getting....

It's a bit confusing but the one at US $350.52 - 392.78 is for a lot of 2. The other is for just 1 piece.

I will be buying 5 from Kam today. I chatted with him over the whole day yesterday and he is testing all of them before he sends them. He also gave me so money off.

N$SA

you are correct about the quantity, although in reference to judging KAM by the picture. i have seen that SAME photo on at LEAST a dozen alibaba sites with a dozen different names, and stop me if im wrong (again) but does anyone remember Pink Lady from the 70's?
