Root [ZIP] MMS FIX FOR CM/AOSP/AOKP (THANKS wolfu)

I would like to try out the mms fix but i'm having a problem moving the old mms
apk.The file can not be move I get this warning saying mms.apk cannot be moved because the file system is read-only,what do I need to do???

change permissions of the system folder to rwxr-xr-x...
but it should already have those permissions...
what rom are you using...

hmm... im on paranoid and im using that apk and its working perfectly for me... mabye ill do a video later about how to install the apk since people are having trouble... what message do you get when it doesn't let you move the apk???

keep the system permissions as i showed you in one of the last few replies... make the new mms.apk rw-r--r--... and then reboot... do not try to install the apk.. just reboot...

im gonna assume you are using root browser...
after you have moved the new mms.apk to system/app
hold down the mms.apk and a menu should pop up
select permissions
in the first row, only read and write should be checked...
in the second and third row, only read should be checked...
you have just changed permissions
reboot and you should have a new messaging app in the app drawer...

Flashable zip for the stock theme would be awesome.

By the way, after messing around with it for a little while, the only thing I've found that I think is still notably themed are the thin black lines around the "bubbles" for each message. I can get some screen of what I'm talking about if you like.
 
Would this work on CM10? I tried installing it but it said the app could not be installed. Everything seems to work except MMS. I'm also on the Sprint Radios so I don't know if this is the real cause for MMS not working but im on CDMA: .97.10.0808 (was on .0530 and no MMS either).

Edit: I flashed back to ICS and it worked so it looks like its not radio related.

Which CM10 are you using, and which version of it?

You can probably go back to maybe 11/19, but I think the 11/11 build should work.
 
Omg man this is awesome you're a god sent, MMS now works and I'm using Disarmed toast 0.2.9-63. Now I got a working camera and MMS on cm10 :D

One question though can the background color be changed really can't see my cursor, not a big deal but just wondering
