Root [ZIP] MMS FIX FOR CM/AOSP/AOKP (THANKS wolfu)

stock theme posted but with a few small things that i kept from theme-D... if you guyz really dont like the few things i kept, i will change... tell me what you think...

Great work, man!

The changes left from the original themed app aren't bad, but the back of my mind still longs for what I've been used to for months...

Women tell me I'm impossible to please. Anyway, much appreciated for you work so far. If you get the time and have an urge, go full stock, and I'll thank every one of your posts for 3 months :D

Hey, here's a thought - what if we took the Mms.apk from the Kyocera Rise? It's stock 4.0, on Virgin Mobile. That's about as close as we're gonna get to "official."
If I get a mo, I'll try it, but feel free to beat me to it :P

i know had an update plan by last night but i've been pretty busy... ill try to do something today... sorry all...

No worries, man. Make it nice and no one will care. Thanks for the work :)

I think this has been discussed before, but won't work because our phone uses Wimax as opposed to just 3G. I think that's the main hiccup between this and, say, the One V, which JMZ got CM9 with MMS going on with ease.

Awe. Well the only system dump I could get of the Rise is odexed anyway. If anyone knows how to deodex stuff and feels like it, it's like the first thread on the Rise's root forum. It's way above my head.

Not to mention I accidentally deleted the zip right after I downloaded it. Twice. This morning is starting off well.

We also had MMS working on the ICS Optimus V ports since that was 3G only as well. We do have WiMax though on a lot of JB builds so progress is being made.

I don't understand - how does the mere presence of a WiMAX radio mess with MMS, even if WiMAX itself doesn't work? I'm sure there is a perfectly valid reason, so I'm curious.

I've wondered myself. Doesn't make sense when Wimax doesn't have anything to due with the ability to send or download MMS. But it is what it is.

Ok this is strange. I managed to push AOSPmms.apk with rw-r--r-- but the app force closes on Harmonia ;(. Anyone know what's wrong? I changed the ownership to 0 (root) and it shows up in the system/app folder on root explorer but I have no idea why it's force closing x_X

First... does it even work on a Sense rom? And... if it were, pretty sure it'd have to be "Mms.apk". I have no idea. Why do you want this half working MMS app on a rom that already has fully working MMS?

lol this is a bit funny and dumb to some but I dont like the sense emoticons :D XD. I also like the aosp mms a bit better. Any way to get the AOSP mms or with the plain android emoticons? :p

aospmms does not have any fix applied to it... mms will not work on it... also you cant push aosp mms to sense phones as they force close... that section is just for developement purposes...

use the modified apks from the first post... any of them except for the orginal mms.apk from lens flare should work on sense...

ok thanks it worked but I guess Ill just try and pull it from mobsters rom since everything works on that mms.apk :)

Much appreciated for the improved theming.

For whatever reason, I can't get it going. Permissions set to rw-r--r-- and ownership set to root for both after renaming "Mms.apk" but I'm still getting "cannot be downloaded."

Anyone with input on whether or not my signal is causing the suck, or have I missed something in installation?

Much appreciated David... You know what ticks me off though?? If it weren't for Virgin Mobile customers, ICS would have never even been brought to the EVO 3D. One would think the devs would be working on an MMS fix for us too. It's almost like we don't exist on some forums. It's all about the Sprint customers. I really wish they would appreciate us a little more and work on the issue for us too.

Just my 2 cents.

you aren't supposed to press install... just put it in the system/app folder, set permissions and reboot...then you will find it sitting cozy in the app drawer... also there is no point of renaming the app as it should install either way...
edit: just reread your post... if the problem is with the apk itself.. i cant really help... i left most of the app as lens had it before so it should work... please tell me what rom you are on... this could be a problem with your connection/what type of file you are recieving/the rom...

Been using Gangnam. I'll try again without renaming before rebooting and maybe try another rom and will report back.

Uhh, they released a Sprint version of the ROM. There's more Sprint users and the phone has been out longer on Sprint which is why it gets more attention.

He's saying they only released it for Sprint users because Sprint had no other choice after the Evo V got it. But they probably would of got it eventually, that is after Sprint held off long enough to make sure everyone upgraded to the evo 4g lte
