to modify the app you can use apkmanager 4.9 to decompile and recompile it...

well - I searched the whole xml files but I can not find the correct one for the layout of the single messages... also I got (until now) no clue what to insert...

maybe anyone else knows?

here you go:

modified Mms.apk

push to phoen via adb

Code:
adb remount
adb push Mms.apk /system/app

Note: to edit 'SIM1 Send' or 'SIM2 Send' mod the res/values/strings.xml It's just one value for all languages... regards

NetMare - I have the same situations - phone hangup during have usage (both sims in Orange network, Poland). Only remove of baterry helps. Phone with latest catty's rom and downgraded clock to 1GHz.

SoftwareVersion : U960SPV1.0.2B07
U960SPV1.0.2B03
ZTE_U960_V1.0.2B03

Is it wrong baseband or what?

Thanks

@Bazyl: Try to update baseband to 2B07 via one click update... see here 2B03 is pretty old...

I reinstalled latest catty's rom again clean... no crash yet....

But still I have that strange stuff with loosing signal on sim2 over and over again... At my company we have a t-mobile repeater and there everything works fine... As I'm not in that repeatet network anymore it starts to loose signal on sim2 over and over again... tested fixed network and also automatic... did set sim2 to gprs only... nothing helps.

Somebody here from germany running two t-mobile cards in this U960 at the same time?! Still thinking of one IMEI two times registerd in one t-mobile network... maybe the network refuses the second sim with same IMEI?

Getting sick and tired of this china mobiles... btw: it's my 3rd phone after two MTK phones... extra bought this one 'cause of two sending / receive units...

any help?

I also had crashes with the latest catty's rom even if I set the clock to 1ghz: now I've restored stock 2b07 and I have no crashes at all. I will retry catty's Tom in the future...

I'm using the phone with two T-Mobile Hungary SIM cards, and no problems so far. I had crashes and stuff with catty's 2B07 ROM, now I'm on stock 2B07, rooted, of course, and have no problems so far. I've updated with the official, one click updater, so my baseband is 2B07 too, maybe you should try it too.

I am from Germany but I run O2 and Vodafone cards in this U960. Now, I had managed the IMEI with SET IMEI in the latest Catty ROM for a short time:
Menu-settings-applications-development -set IMEI
First after a few reboots, EVERYTHING worked perfect on Catty's ROM (look at the screenshot, there was a successfully set with IMEI).

But unfortunately after empty battery the software couldn't memorize the IMEI and after reboot there were again problems with SIM1, crashes, uncontrolled touchscreen and so on.

I think the problem is that the software doesn't keep the IMEI in mind.

Thank you The Solutor, nothingman76 and abynk for your help with the IMEI but one more question: Are you sure that the B08 keeps the IMEI in mind? I would make a lot of backup because of the B08

Thanks guys for all your feedback!
Really start to getting sick & tired about this phone 'cause first phone i did get from eto was broken at all... well - hope I can sort it out quickly as the WAF (wife acceptance factor) is going down as I'm not reachable on the second sim over and over again ;)

two quick questions to you guys:

Is *#06# showing the IMEI two times or just once?

Why is the catty's rom marked with 2B07? Is every rom made for a single baseband version?

thanks for help gents!

I only had the crashes shortly after i've done the rom flash... even including one "bluescreen".... but after two or three restarts the problem disappeared...

and furthermore now with the new rom i have no freezes when switching on and off the w-lan and the 3g at same time (what wasn't working before)

perfect, thx!

by the way since i don't know how to do the "push-thing"...
but you can also install it via the root-explorer with copying the file into the right folder and change the permission settings to rw-r-r-
