Root ZTE U960 ROM Discussion

on other phone I see the leds with different color for notify of different apps (fb blue-whatsapp green-sms white ... etc) on this I never got to see the leds ... and never when in charging too ...

I have a rom 1.6b from etotalk. Previously was other but I haven't it now.
It is my first android phone. So I begin to look for programms for me. I installed froyo and I saw that I have problems. Uninstalling didn't give any results. I reinstalled all using clockworkmod, others programms were installed using Titanium or market. There is no difference are You use backup or clean install from market for other programms.
When I read 4pda about Tasker. I try some tasks, all was o.k. untill I run the task for signal strengness and some others.

I have done reinstall some times (about 6 times and about 2 times I had the problems with bluetooth), each time the results were different for Tasker tasks as well as some system programms were working different.

I am no professional and I am no programming specialist. I am user only and I choosed the simple way to try to resolve the problem. So if I currently understand it may be problem with driver installation (other program influence, system modification as a result of new programm installation).Possible it is a problem of sim drivers. Otherwise, I might have the trouble for bluetooth each time of reinstall but I haven't.

You may note, that noise in bluetooth You have at the same time when the indicator of signal strengness floats.If You turn bluetooth off, the indicator of line strengness floats but the sound is clear.

It depends, want you the same signal for both sim or You want diffent signal for each sim.
To use the same signal for both sim, You need to choose signal in the main menu choosing as the choise option Ringo pro and then open Ringo pro application to check it.If settings are different, you need to approve Your choise in the Ringo pro.

To use the file
delete the old Vending.apk in /system/app then copy the new apk downloaded and copy it in /system/app/Vending.apk
then set perm, owner, and group to it to 644 root root via adb or terminal emulator with the commands
cd /system/app/
chmod 644 Vending.apk
chown 0 Vending.apk
chgrp 0 Vending.apk

I uploaded the same file but version 3.4.7. -Vending.3.4.7.noupdate.norestrictions.dpi240.nosig-aligned.apk, it works also.

I also suspect that this is coused by the cpu being to busy to process both the bluetooth and other stuff, and that is why you get the distortion in sound on sim1

Perhaps it wouldt be possible the get catty62 to provide a kernel that is not overclocked to see if that might fix it ?

thankyou javerin u give me new thought now i full control ringo pro for both sims sms.

you can use cpu master to set the cpu to 1G to test if the problem is caused by the OC...
 
Domin6 Are You have a floating signal on sim 2 between gsm and cmda?
I read on Russian forum that the Solutor version hasn't this defect.

I have never understood your step 2b. Are you saying that instead of replacing RF.ZTE with your own, one should rather rename Catty's recovery.img as RF.ZTE and place that rather in the version folder in the installation package?

Let me try that, i also tested 6 different bluetooth headsets all with the same results, so i can roule out that its a defective headset.

Headsets were jabra, nokia aso
 
Updated successfully to 2B08 following The Solutor's guide.
Nothing new in the ROM...
I will check in the next days if the signal on SIM1 is more stable then before

Edit: even with this version of the rom there's the bug with Google play. as soon it automatically update to version 3.7.13 you cannot download any package. you need to install the fixed version posted by catty62 until Google will release a new version...

when I first tried the oneclick update tool version 2b06 I loose my imei... Then I restored the imei by using qpst software and flashing the imei I've found under the battery... I hope they are corrects....

with this version of the oneclick update (2b08) I had no problem with the imei
 
please tell me now DL_U960_CMCC_CHN_EUV1.00.02.exe not detect my u960.before every time this DL_U960_CMCC_CHN_EUV1.00.02.exe work with my zte u960.i change usb setting many times but its not detecting.any suggection.
 
Hi,

Has anyone got the OTG to work?
Every time I plug in the cable with even an empty card reader, the phone freezes.

P.s.
I'm using Catty 2b07 brilliant rom and the phone is fully charged

I'be used the same xp machine I used to flash version 2b06 by doing these step:
1) uninstall version 2b06 of the update package.
2) install version 2b08 of the update package
3) install the usb drivers found under the onclick update folder
4)reboot the xp box
5) attach the phone switched on e let the driver install
6) start the update tool
