Since no one answered what emode was I figured it out the hard way. To save others the trouble it's also called service mode and is for developers.. hmmm that goes back to when I recommended everyone flash in engineer mode. On mtk devices it pulls up the old school hidden menu with the help of an emode app from play store.. thanks Billy for the new codes.. I can't get emode to work but emode with cold start work.. anyone know what the cold start is and how can we use it?
 
OK.. got emode to work.. for people as slow as me.. when you copy the codes above, don't copy the # at the end. Manually type it in dialer and code will work.. when I run 2 codes for MBN test apk I get this in pics below. Can someone please explain?

There's diagnostic related apk that you can put in system folder? Then certain features/tools are enabled...Can anyone please explain what I mean?

Power vol.up + vol.down (DFU)

Before unlock pin press 1by1 back then recent app hold both let screen go black. When connected to PC w/adb gets solid lit home key. Doing this not in adb gets flashing home key. (Mystery)

ADB reboot EDL ( Isn't this just DFU?)
ADB disemmcwp (works on other phones to mount sysfiles r/w. Apparently it's partially disabled for Zpro. Go Figure!)

ADB shell runs in user mode not Kerbal (go figure)

ZTE Please with a cherry on top give us root :)

The disemmcwp command does work on the zmax pro. At least for some things. That is how I was able to change my screen resolution.

That thread is from 2014 but might still work. The OP also said it's for those who know IDA pro so I googled it. Found this video basically a tutoring video but this is more on video games though. But the comments are also talking about DFU. Linking it here for those who want to learn:

 
The recovery.img and the boot.image look like they may be promising, but somebody with more knowledge of the Android system files than myself would have to tell you. I'm an old webOS nerd, I still have a lot to learn about Android, because every other Android phone I have had have been ridiculously easy to root. (Towelroot)

Can I use your technique to make mine 4k? That's good news for root if you walk us through how you made it work.

Yes.. you inspired me to look up more codes and how to use emode.. in reference to the mtk or Samsung it opens the hidden menu on most phones to mod the hardware.. I was mostly looking for a hidden fastboot option or just any root method. One of the apps in the play store check apps for dialer codes which I thought was strange.. shortcut master lite.. told it to search for codes in the menu.. 4 codes showed for the MBN apk.. it gives about 4 options to execute them.. 2 appeared the same and one did nothing.. it ask for location pick internal or external SD and that's when I took a screenshot and asked what am I looking at.. here's a link to the app..

I also got some info on emode.. it's for developers to mod the hardware.. also called service mode. but once turned on I can't figure out how to get the hidden menu to pop-up..
