Very true. I rooted my first phone (HTC EVO 4g) using adb and I still don't know shit. It takes alot of reading along with trial and error. What you are asking is like ask a Doctor to teach you to be a Doctor. It takes years of study and it cost a lot more than $100.
I agree it did sound a little like that. If u read the post its hard to tell what u exactly meant I'm guessing because of a typo. But please don't give up on the device and stop refunding money. The sooner u get the money needed the better. Masterchief already bailed on us we need you.Dude if you read back it sounded like you bailed maybe it's just me but that's what I saw I meant no disrespect at all
Man don't worry I'm not giving up but i either can't do much without having the device in my hands , I'm still waiting for anyone to send me a dev device...I agree it did sound a little like that. Hmm..what's zeta torrent is ?I did discover that the beta version of Zeta Torrent is able to write to the boot partition accidentally yesterday. I don't know if the files will execute at boot, or from a shell. I thought I set the path to the root directory of my SD card, but I screwed up.
I'm using version 3.3.1
I have two movies stuck on the partition that I am not able to move, copy, delete or play. That might be a way to ovewrite the correct files. I was planning on giving it a shot tonight. I don't have any way to back up the originals, or an exploited copy to try it with, so it might be a one shot deal.
If you have anything worth trying I'll do it.
I don't know if the permissions will be right, bit it's worth a shot. I haven't seen anything else that looks promising. It's obvious that the tools suggested for flashing aren't getting it done.
If that is what I think it is and it did what he said it did, then some one should upload a superuser and binaries in a torrent and let it do its thing.
You should upload an empty file named test to a torrent site, then change the settings in zeta to download to /system/bin and see if it writes the file.
