Root ZTE ZMAX TWRP NEW VERSION 2.8.6.0

make sure you use the version I just uploaded should be
i accidently uploaded a bad one, but noticed real quick and fixed it, not sure if you got the first one or the second one

I was wondering where the link was lol. I looked up and there was no link to DL.
 
First I like to thank @Mastercheif87 , @hroark13 , @tech_yeet and jcase and all the people that had problems and posted the pitfalls ,so that we could avoid them. I am completely new to twrp and have been following this since the first thread on XDA that was closed. I have read and reread daily every post on rooting this thing. I used the stock recovery and reset my phone. I installed hroarks13's twrp but did not run it.I also installed root checker and put the widget on the home screen so I could touch it and see quick if I was rooted . I installed English version of kingroot. I would run it, it would go to 51 percent and fail, I would then goto app manager and Clear data and try again, after about 20 times I installed like ten launchers start one hit home key and ran another. After all launchers were running third attempt of running king root then removing data it rooted. I checked root with root checker then ran hroark13 TWRP . I didn't know how long it would stay rooted so I wanted to make sure I could run twrp fast. I rebooted into twrp recovery wiped cash , dalvik-cash , data and system . again rebooted recovery , FYI TWRP said while booting no OS Installed. Installed butterNoob , rebooted normal to make sure everything worked fine. Then used the swtitcher zips. No probs thanks to the fine work above mentioned did. I didn't attempt this till I felt a hundred percent doing this and it was 10 times easier then I thought it would be. Thanks again everyone !!!
 
I appreciate the shout out but I don't think I should be mentioned first on your list. If you compare what I did with the zips alongside hroark13 actually building the recovery its like comparing 1st grade math to astrophysics (I'm the one who would be in first grade lol).

IT IS UP TO, PISS ME OFF AND I DONT SHARE

Open the apk file
Click "Install Recovery (this flashes TWRP to your recovery partition, and this only needs to be done once)
Click Reboot recovery

I was wondering what is the best way to update twrp2 to twrp286.
P.S. iam running buteenoob v2 on my boot sector so I have system rw.
I believe I just have it where twrp is in recovery and boot is on boot,install new twrp and install recovery then switch back to where I can write to system.

You will have to flash the restore zip before you update twrp. Also, if you flash the switcher zip after you update twrp, it will remove the updated twrp and put twrp 2.7.1 back. I plan on having the zips updated tonight.
 
Was wondering how to make the recovery.IMG so I could fix the switcher zips myself if there is ever a need again.

Everytime I try to download from the mediafire links you guys post it says authorize download in red and wont lwt me download, why is that?

That means you need to enter the capita to show that you are a human and not some spam bot

I have already uploaded the new zips. I just need to download and re test them to make sure they didn't get corrupted during the upload and then I'll post the new links.
