Root ZTEROOT

im temp rooted with kingroot on my zte z987 the script just says starting demon then started demon but never does anything after that, hopefully someone will write the script for my phone

Without system rw you can still do a lot just with twrp. Twrp has a built in file manager. It's a bit akward to use at first but once you get the hang of it, it can be very useful. Plus you can learn a lot from using it. Win win

i had it rooted, now its just stuck on the "powered by android" screen... can someone help! :0

i installed twrp recovery, but i can't boot into recovery..

EDIT: Nevermind, i got it already.. i was about to cry if my phone was bricked

Build prop editing shouldn't be something your attempting if you don't understand why the system is not RW in the first place....I'm not trying to be holier than thou our condescending we've had quite a few soft bricks because people didn't wanna wait for a more reliable RW status

I know I understand, Ive done it before though and I only want to delete system app which I dont do blindly and just temp disable the capacitive keys, theres even an app but it wont do its thing cause the system wont let it... Im familiar with what Im asking but hey you guys are in charge, you guys got root and recovery and everything, Im just the guy asking for the solution on silver platter, plus I understand if you post them others might actually mess up their devices, so its cool Ill wait for something else in the near future, thanks tho!!!

Honestly I don't see the point in editing the build.prop like most of the edits for it to me don't seem to work. But that's just my opinion

Its just that this is the first device Ive ever had with fresh root, I had an S3 which was unbrickable, I could do anything on it and Odin would fix it! I also had an Htc One which I had to unlock bl and S-off but as soon as I got root on them r/w was present, thats why I feel limited here, is all...

I know my old S3 could pick up any build.prop edit I threw at it, but my Htc One took none, anyways all I want is delete system apps and disable capacitive keys which I dont know if its really build.prop honestly, but I cant do it...

It is going to be easier for you to do this...

Get temp root with king root

Install the TWRP apk made by hroark

Flash butternoob v2 made by mingolianbeef

That's the most noon friendly method by far

One more time for anyone else that come by, we need therealdukie to put this in the first post of the discussion on XDA it still has all that it can't be rooted crap

I've got my Zmax stock in a boot loop and i tried resetting it but it says "[-] Connect ui: Timer expired" and thats as far as i ever get using any method

IF YOU HAVE NOT UPDATED YOUR PHONES THIS WILL NOT WORK

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TEMP ROOT THIS WILL NOT WORK

DO NOT FLASH THE CONTAINED ZIP FILES.. UNZIP THEM AND RUN ZTEROOT.BAT

This file cuts all the dirty work out of the root method... after hours of testing not one device has been bricked because of the script...

Thanks to @mingolianbeef @Flame3element for help writing, cleaning it up and being my first victu......... beta testers
Thanks to @jcase @beaups for the commands and all the work it took to find them

If there are any legitimate problems with the scripts pm me so i can try to fix them.....
even with all of the testing we did something may have snuck through

**************EDIT***************

Ok so after some troubleshooting with another user on XDA i came to realize i made an error with the last five commands in the script so ive updated the zip files to amend "su -c" from the last 5 commands....

I was testing against an already rooted device so those commands slipped under the radar as successful... the rest of the rules still apply but the scrip should now work 100%
So, what you're saying is after I unzip the ZTE root.zip file and run zte root.bat file BEFORE having temp root, will I possibly brick my device?

Lol open the file the bat had instructions... I would just get temp root and install TWRP for our phone from hroark then flash the butternoob Rom quick and easy
