We have a cwm build in the works but it's still far from finished... For now my script is antiquated until I update it.....my advice is to gain temp root and install the TWRP built by HRoark then flash butternoob v2 because it cuts out allot of unneeded steps

I new to the ZMAX on this forum but can I use ZTE Root.Zip on a T-Mobile version of the same phone? I have rooted phones and tablets before I got this phone as a upgrade.

yes you can. i have the tmobile variant. it worked well for me, but only after getting temp root with KingRoot.

All these different Root methods lead to nothing but confusion.

I'll wait for the .apk as I'm in no hurry to Root or Brick my phone.

There's really only 2 methods... Both have there advantages and disadvantages.. I'm writing a script to combine the 2.. The Windows batch is almost done it just needs more testing...I'm also trying to give those on nix based systems done love but shell scripting is taking awhile

hey xtremeasure, my question to you is - you have two different zips here.
"zteroot.zip" is for ? and "zterootmetropcs.zip" is for ? and then in the read me file it says they are both for t-mobile!! will they actually work on metropcs or are they different- then inside each zip is another zip with same information. would you please be more clear on which one I need for metropcs and do I use the zip inside the zip?? when I tried each one earlier nothing happened. I had done a root on my phone a month ago and when I checked it yesterday it says I havwe full root already, my other thing is my phone already had su and busybox pre installed on it when I purchased it --- the box was sealed. Soooo im thinking that zte might have included a back door to the system if im not mistaken. im not a noob at the root and cooking thing - but im not a consumate pro either. I just have this funny feeling they put a back door in for someone who actually has a running knowledge of Linux and the way it works.. is it possible that you might research it?? I have taken a very close look at the files in this device and noticed a few strange things, most of all though , "su and busybox are preinstalled"!? never on another phone have I ever seen this. do you not find it strange.... I think there is a way to gain access to r/w and it might be so simple that no one is looking at it.

Busy box Is pre-installed... The one zip is for tmobile and univision the other is fire mpcs as the build numbers are different.....I'm working on an update to the scouts but haven't had allot of time..... The script sets an adb back door that allows the and daemon to start as root something that the twrp method doesn't do so I'm working to further Noob proof the script and have it install twrp while setting the backdoor.... This is useful for some bricking scenarios I'll put here first when is ready for the first round of test

so the "ztemetropcsroot.zip is the one I need ? and do I unzip the inner file and use it - I tried it already but nothing happens , could that be because im already rooted- but have no r/w capabilities still. sorry to bother you man

Well I got it done - the perm root I already had was causing failures but I just kept trying and it took- have to unplug and restart phone for it to take.... now then 2 last questions--1) will the mpcs folders metro block it 411 etc, etc, I deleted stay gone... and I got rid of that obnoxious lookout crap too coz I already have my own a.v. are they gone forever or still lurking?
2) will the changes ive made revert back to stock after I turn off my phone and reboot or will they stick
