those icons are in framework and lge-res apks.


edit: not really pleased with them myself and am looking to replace them.

I am trying to download Slidejoy using xperia and at the store it says its not compatible with my version


nevermind seems ok now I downloaded the apk and installed fine

Hmm... says it's incompatible for me. Is this really worth it? I've installed it, and it's really annoying if the pay off isn't very good.

Cool... I reverted back to v2 from a backup because something broke with message notifications on my watch and the camera I was using is gone from the app I got it from. Just wanted to see if it would be worth trying to fix the notification problem. I don't it has anything to do with the ROM...I had the problem before, but I was having issues getting it fixed this time.
 
Hi, thanks for putting this together.

I'm a technical guy but new to the Android game. I'm looking for a stable non-bloat release for my girlfriend's LS740 on Virgin. Doesn't need to be bleeding edge.

Seems like this would be the one?

I have her phone rooted, and am kinda like "OK, now what?"

Honestly, the biggest thing she hates (besides slow/bloaty phone) is lack of group txts with iOS friends. Don't know if that's included in this OS, but maybe there will be enough speed to run a new app that doesn't suck wind.

Anyway, any recommendations for a good stable ROM, a link to a good general guide on installing them, and a solid SMS app to add afterward would be much appreciated.

This would certainly be the ROM I would recommend. Also, we have a custom kernel you can install which will help with performance.

As for installing, you'll need to a install custom recovery, TWRP 2.8.7.0 being the one you want. You can install it with Kernel Adiutor (this will be the app to use for tweaking as well), available on the play store. I am about to write up a new guide and make a video on this process if you can wait a few days. Everything is available in this forum if you want to look around for yourself.

The most important thing to keep mind with this stuff is if nothing's says it's for this phone, don't use it.

Great, thanks. I've seen some videos where they were using TWRP and wasn't sure what that was called. Things coming together a bit. Appreciated!
 
Added two fixes one for each rom to OP. Hate to say it but I actually didn't even add the right systemui files in the last two uploads you guys got. they had none of the changes made. Sorry about that. The two update zips are small but are worth it. Now youll actually get the new data/signal icon sets,battery and glass status bar.



screen is stock status bar setup with glass transparency and new icons.

the downloads are in the OP. which one did you try to install? I may need to add these to a rom set. I haven't noticed that with this device sometimes flashing themes dont seem to work every time. They actually do but the system is using a cached version of the old stuff and wiping doesn't seem to matter. Doesn't do it every time. Let me know which you tried and I will check to be positive it isnt the zip. Which Im pretty sure it isn't.
 
It is the Xperia fix I used, the icons changed. Have G2 tweak status bar mod off and no gravitybox status bar tweaks either. Could having both of these installed be causing an issue?
 
no im using g2tweaks also and using the Xperia fix right now and its working. i know that if you reflash and then wipe cache,dalvik and data youll clear out the cached data the rom isn't letting go of. the zip is solid and has everything. g2tweaks isn't the issue. its the rom holding on to its data cache when other times it doesnt.
 
by wiping your data you will need to set all your stuff up again as it will remove passwords and app settings,etc. but it will...or SHOULD clear the icon database also
 
Just an update on where I am.

Have began to successfully decompile apps,etc.. Trying to implement built in reboot menu but am encountering various recompile errors using the various reboot menu mods out there. Will look into finding a better option for this. Any suggestions are welcome. For now I am going to move on to other edits until I can get a working reboot mod. For now I will focus on changing the ui so we don't need to have g2tweaksbox...well...that's the eventual goal but it will be a gradual process. Will share changes as I get them working without issues.
 
Don't know exactly what all you have planned, but if you find a way to add a hotspot toggle to quick settings, that'd be pretty awesome in my book!

Will try. Still having recompile errors. Think my apktool setup is fudged up. even getting gibberish errors just recompiling a clean untouched apk that was just decompiled. going to try getting everything updated as best as possible and start again.
 
Ok,first successful decompile with recompile using 1% battery mod as a test done. So we are in business as far as modding our apps go. Took a bit of work to get the apktool environment set up properly. Tons of errors. But thats over. Will work on this stuff and at the least drop you guys a 1% battery mod tomorrow. Have not forgotten you bg4m3r on the items for the guide. Wnated to get this done first.

We will enjoy this beast the way we want come h3LL or high water one lol...heres screen of 1% mod...i used an older systemui to tinker with. the circle mod probably wont be battery unless folks want it. We can have multiple themed varieties for the ui apk to suit any need. im up for the work...
