Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

I really wanna try out the Samsung look alike rom (Stock 3 I believe) and it says I need to flash Z6 radio if I came from Z5 but I bought my phone from textnow and it had Z3 I believe. So does that mean I'll have to flash radio 4 then 5 then 6 or I can just skip 4, and 5 and just flash 6? Also, what order should I flash the radio image in? After or before ROM. Just don't wanna mess up cause I have never had to flash radio images in all of my time on rotting and roms. Thanks if you can help and thanks for the nice looking roms!
 
First make a backup of your current zv3. Then install zv5 rom deodexed which is listed here in forums,then that should do to install this.
 
I already made a backup around 4 months ago. So I should download the zv5 deodexed ROM then after it boots and all, go into recovery and wipe what needs to be wiped then install your ROM then the zv6 radio and then stick gapps for 4.4? @Curtis1973

Hi, I was wondering if the Google Play store is compatible with this ROM. I flashed it to fix my nephews phone and I don't see it on there and downloading an APK doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: Whoops, just noticed the Google download in the first post.

yeah after you install zv5 just reboot to recovery and install this rom,then flash the radio img zip,then flash the google apps pack from opengapps.org and that should do it.
 
First off, thank you Curtis1973 for sharing your work with us. I'm having a little hiccup with locking down the lock screen wallpaper. I change the wallpaper and then after a couple of unlocks, or reboot it goes back to the stock one. Xperia V3 with GAPPS

Go to the lockscreen settings folder and delete the files in the shared prefs and files folders.

yeah it does that on pure stock also. seems to be a glitch with something LG side of the build. it was doing that on my end first day i activated on unrooted stock. on my end the wallpaper will stay on what ever i select until reboot. then it will revert to the set wallpaper in lockscreen settings wallpapers. typically stays the same until reboot. it even does it if just picking from the built in lockscreen wallpaper set. have not been able to find a cause in the xml.
 
Thank you bg4m3r, that worked with the unlocks, did eight in a row lock wallpaper did not change, thanks. But on reboot it goes back to default. Curtis1973, thanks again for split screen works like a charm, sometimes it's hard for my old brain to remember some of the small things in the instructions being given. Bg4m3r thanks for the screen shot, that's very smart providing a visual reference.
 
Xperia V3 pico GAPPS: after flashing, my stock Boost Mobile bootup came back. Did not get the stock LG bootup, is that normal? Previous bootup was R2D2 bootup on stock v5. My wife has a Textnow tribute that is bone stock, nice and clean, with the stock LG bootup. I would've liked to have the stocky till I found something else.
 
Thats odd. I removed all of the carrier boot animations. Unless your carrier...ie: boost,is using google apps for push things to your phone..i cant think of a reason that boot animation would come back.
 
I will be posting an updated set of SystemUI apks for both devices in a few days. They both give the semi transparent status bar on homescreen like sense based devices have. I am hoping to replace the current xperia launcher with another set..just need to debug it from its original port...which is causing issues on our stock setups. I am hoping to change our entire ui to a more flat material scheme. But with a twist and for the fact im doing it alone which is time consuming...I will use the current coloring you see in all the apps. They will just be flatened out.

When I rooted by flashing back to zv3, I lost all carrier identification for the longest time. Flashed the apn fix which have the labeling back, then suddenly one day the boot animation came back and it started downloading all the bloat. O.o

I mentioned this cause it's the first time I have ever had a bootup change unless I changed it or was in the rom I was flashing. Caught me by surprise at first boot after flash.
 
I looked in system/media and only found your boot animation zip,and in audio a 0mb sound file for boost and sound files for sprint and Virgin. Where else would I look for bootup.

look in root/carrier/cust... two folders,poweroff and poweron. just copy the two i have in system/media over to their respective carrier folder.

going to try to post a set of vrthemes to apply to framework,lge-res and SystemUI later today. fixes for framework dialog prompts and these updates with glass status bar on home along with colorized sprint spark lte spinners and the lte data icons...need to test the vrthemes first to be sure they dont break your apks first...

Ran into a minor issue. I'm still on the first zv6 ROM so it might not be an issue at this point. I've been trying to add a hotspot toggle to quick settings. Failing that I decided to try the AOSP version in G2Tweak. I enabled it, and disabled the stock. The settings wouldn't come back and several system settings were set back to default. I reverted back to stock quicksettings and the settings button in the panel wouldn't work, Waze broke, hotspot broke, and some other stuff. Clearing cache, rebooting and such did not fix it. I eventually restored a backup and everything is OK now. Don't know why it all went haywire...
 
Love all the work you're doing. Question, I installed the new version, but I don't care for some of the icons, particularly on the power menu. I swapped out the systemui and systemui provider apks, but those icons didn't change back.
