Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

@Curtis1973 Did you modify /system/framework/WfdCommon.jar in anyway from the one found in ZV5? I was trying to edit the ZV6 update zip so it would only patch the files you kept in this modded rom and I found that the 'WfdCommon.jar' is smaller in your rom VS the regular rooted ZV5 rom by kwknott

EDIT: Actually a whole load of files in framework were smaller or wrong size. I'm curious to know what you edited.

EDIT2: I will say I have little knowledge of framework edits or other android system edits.

I never edited any of the files in framework except adding in files for some sony apps.
heres a screen of original stock deodexed and the one in rom uploaded. both 23.9 kb.

Native app moving functions will still behave as programmed, as though those permissions are still blocked. You will still need to use links to completely move an app to the SD card, or to move data files.

yeah a complete move to sdcard i think you would need something like linking to do it. but for standard move to sdcard it works.

I figured it out, you mentioned using the odexed rom in the OP, but just before I read this new post I compared the files with the deodexed rom from kwknott and they appear to match. You might want to fix that typo in the OP so people know.

Standard move to SD 'works' on stock, but in Kitkat it only moves the apk and internal data files that don't get written to by the app. It doesn't move external data or obb files, which is usually the bulk of the space consumption. A lot of times you end up increasing the size by moving to SD natively. The permission changes don't change this behavior since the native function is specifically coded to only move those files.

Any way we can edit in linking without major modification by chance?

So this took me longer than it should have but I have located every file the ZV6 update patched, deodexed them, removed the files that didn't come with this rom (assuming they were bloat), and added it to the ZV5 zip along with the ZV6 boot.img The Slim FM radio works here and everything else from what I can tell. Your millage may vary though. One weird thing I came across was, after first boot I got 'cannot connect to camera' from the included camera app. That issue went away on it's own with no apparent system change on my part. This is the Xperia modded rom with gapps, since I want to use the google play store. So far I like the Xperia launcher and the rom, seems snappy.

Remember to flash the ZV6 radio if you have not yet done so or are upgrading from ZV5

Awesome bro. If you dont mind I'll add it to OP as an alternative for those who want the fixes it has.

To clear things up on the sdcard stuff. @bg4m3r is correct. What I did was just restore native move app to sd and enable write to sd for apps that could no longer select sd for such functions. Linking an app is a totally different thing that gets around android restrictions totally. I assumed native sd did exactly that by moving. But it is not the same in any way to linking. I dont game a lot if ever and just was not familiar with the issues gamers experience needing obb and data to be moved as well. But in the end the rom can at least perform the basic sd functions we all were used to having. So if you need linking versus moving then link2sd is the way to go. I read up on it all some and while we probably could get that kind of function in the roms it would be more to do than I can do. And not sure that would be fair to developers invested in apps like link2sd.

go ahead glad I can help. Btw where can I get the wallpapers in the OP screenshots?

I will upload them in a sec for you all along with two pretty good Xperia live wallpapers that are low memory and low battery use. Give me about 20 minutes or so to link your zv6 rom to OP and put together a zip.

Ok cool, one more thing... I seem to be missing the custom boot, I still have the old boost mobile boot. EDIT: the boot animation files are there under /system/media but they seem to be ignored, I don't know why

Heres the boot Shutdown animations and the sounds. Just make a copy of power on and power off sounds for each carrier and name them same as the ones listed for carrier and replace. Boot animation stuff for carrier can be deleted just leavimg the non carrier labled ones included here.

I tried the Xperia with Gapps and comldnt take the launcher saying to set it up all the time so i switched to the Stock ZV5 V2 with Gapps and like it with the exception that I found a few apk files were 0kb including Maps and I have tried a few ways of installing Maps but can't get it to connect and work on WiFi or 4g/3g data.

EDIT: I got it figured out; its caused by the newest MOAB host file that you included into the ROM. I switched to a old version I had and Maps worked.

The files are already there under /system/media, the system just doesn't seem to be using it. Do I have to edit the boot.img?

Hi. To stop the launcher notification just long press on the notification, click app info, and turn off app notifications. Didnt intend on that moab hosts file being in there. Always over look something lol
