Root zzsuperwipe or not

I've was told (by someone in the mik forum) to not use superwipe before flashing a rom. The guide in this forum says to use it but the guide also only says to wipe the first 3 things (and sd-ext if partitioned). Do you guys use superwipe or not?

IMHO (and I'm one of the few) it's unnecessary to run superwipe if you're using Amon RA 2.3 since it wipes everything correctly the first time you wipe, so there is really no need to run a script that wipes everything three times. But you can certainly use it anyway if it will give you more peace of mind.

hi im not sure about the article u speak of but when trying a new rom or go from aosp to a sense rom i always use vipers superwipe...before i flash a new rom..if upgrading from lets saymik3 to mik 3.1 i will sometimes just do a wipe of ...cache/ delvick cache and use cauklins temp cleaner before laying the upgrade 3-3.1 on top....and if i have stability problems on a rom and doing a wipe.. cache/ delvick cache....but a new rom install always a factory reset or superwipe.

I always use it. Its very important to make sure you have a clean slate and Superwipe helps ensure that.


I understand when people say it isnt required, but I dont know why anyone would recommend against it.

yeah i have never had any issues flashing roms using vr superwipe. but that is up to you. amon ra does a pretty good job at wiping so i understand why some would say that it is not necessary. but for me it only takes an extra second to do and it does not hurt if you do it.

i believe captain throwback has had some issue with using it in the past, but i do not think that there is any known issue with using it. at least none that i have seen.

so using is up to you and that is why it is an optional step in the dummies guide.

I wanted to know what my friends here do after I was told by someone on the mikmik forum that superwipe could mess things up. I'm going with what my buddies here say. I'm using it!

hi ...i wipe and will continue to.... never had a bad wipe and vsuperwipe has worked fine so i will continue to do what i always have ..on my other phones i have to do it manually dont have vsuperwipe ...wish i did so much easier
