Why would this notification be in someones google history? At least once a day?

The Play Store will force access to check for updates, and if install automatically is selected, will update accordingly

Another reason among others that I turned the damned thing off. Been burned by updates too often and turning the automatic updates 'off' doesn't work, since it sneaks in updates to specific apps anyway.

WeChat chat migration fail. Can't connect when scan QR code.

The following worked for me.
1. Log out of wechat on new phone.
2. Restart old phone
3. You may have to log back in to wechat on old phone
4. Attempt the chat Migration again and this time the QR code should show up.
5. Login to wechat on New phone
6. Use new phone to scan QR code displayed on old phone.
7. Accept the transfer and you're done!

I think the issue is that only 1 device login can be valid at a time. So you have to start the migration on old phone BEFORE logging into any other devices

Facebook View not compatible with A13 Samsung

I'd recommend sideloading the APK by downloading it from a website via your browser. I've had far too many instances where Play Store deems apps 'not compatible' but when I sideload them they work fine, and I've also had instances where Play Store allows an app to install that's clearly NOT compatible, and causes chaos.

It's one of the main reasons I don't use app stores anymore at all. Google still has yet to fix this 'bug'. The last false positive was a couple of years ago, I wanted to install Amazon Music to my Note II. Play Store is perfectly capable of allowing the 'last older version compatible' to work, as it can install an old version of TikTok for the same phone, but under the app listing for Amazon Music, it shows 'your device is no longer compatible with this app' and won't allow the thing to install. I was able to successfully sideload the APK and it worked fine, the Federation didn't collapse, and galaxies didn't explode. Google, fix your crap!

I tried that, I also went back later and tried downloading the older versions from apkmirror. Some also said the file wasn't recognized at all, on both of my Samsung phones. It's disturbing that this app didn't work even with the first version years ago. I suspect this is something to do with the newest Android 13. There should at least be a list of compatible phones, or Meta fixing this in their updates. They seem to put out a new version every few weeks so there is no excuse.

Who wants to read my project?

I believe that if you want professional point, you can go to professionals, who could help you with this. I have always wanted to write better things and even in my college i've trained to write nursing research papers for sale well, such tasks were always given to me and other students. So i guess i have trained on them. But i will never have such mastery to become write, instead i work as a nurse, which is also a good profession in my opinion
Yeah sometimes it kind of have to dive into deeper space as well, it is a hard task to keep at it from on a daily task though, I do take heeps of breaks from typing from my desktop and tablet, trying to keep it fresh in my mind. Well congrats on becoming a nurse. I have a side gig as well. So yeah..

Help Cannot make or receive calls

I just dealt with this today. My Note II wouldn't call or receive calls (but text, data, and MMS worked fine). It's NOT the APN. No APN would make data and text fail (tested it myself)

It's likely they're enforcing VoLTE on you. I always thought VoLTE was also needed for SMS but apparently not. I just tried three other phones, one a LG Lucid 3 (2014), a Pantech Breakout (2011) and my S4 Mini (2013) and they all text, had data and could do MMS, but no phone calls. Under Settings-->About Phone-->Status everything checked out except one bit:

Mobile Network:
Unknown

That one part right there. It should say "Verizon Wireless". On the LG, it showed 'searching for service' despite it having all bars and 4G LTE. Texting still worked. MMS worked. Data worked.

The clue was the Pantech Breakout. It showed 'no service' as the carrier, and it had additional details regarding what it used for voice, and it was 1x. the status of 1x was zero. Nothing. Seriously, we have had 1x for years (and 3G, it actually connects to 3G at work!) but apparently today they finally shut 'em down. Took 'em long enough. My Galaxy S5 works, and it has HD voice (aka, VoLTE) same SIM and all, so it's a VoLTE thing. Verizon did say they delayed the shutdown of 3G 'indefinitely' and haven't issued an update yet but I guess they finally got the ball rolling. They were maintaining pockets of 1x/3G also for M2M and IoT systems as well, and if I went scanning, there are still small slivers of 3G left around here, enough for that 'unknown' network to show 'verizon wireless' where it remains until you restart the phone, but despite that I still couldn't call or receive calls on those phones. Oh well, at least I can still use the most feature-packed phone around, the Galaxy S5. It needs a battery though.

Ebonite Tomahawk bowling ball

Without seeing the actual connections, I see nothing glaringly wrong with the unit. I wouldn't think that a seal or lack of would cause a major drop in efficiency. Making certain that gray hose is clean and there is no blockage where it enters the tank. Lay the sweeper on its side and inspect where the debris leaves the brushes and enters that gray hose as well.

Heartbroken

Small dogs are the ones that live shorter lives. It's the opposite of smaller rabbits. Many Pom-pom's only live to be 6-7. Some larger breeds either grow too quickly and die sooner, like the giant Schauzer, or possibly Great Danes. I'm not a dog expert, just a deer expert.

Rabbits are extremely sensitive. They can literally be scared to death. the most common ailment they get is GI Stasis, which happens when they don't eat enough. They must ALWAYS have food available. If a rabbit ain't leaving a trail of coco puffs, seek a vet immediately!

Another reason to adopt and don't shop. A ton of bulldogs have lung issues. I've never known a single Bulldog that didn't breathe as if they had asthma. The creepy ways that breeders mutilate animals to produce 'pure-breeds' is horrendous.

All the books I've read about dogs as a child said they live to be 12-13 years, but we've had a couple that pushed 16+.

Could a dirty SIM card cause problem to the smartphone

Of course, anyone would have to agree with ocnbrze, but now here we are.

Anyway, a green residue is a strong indication of copper. My best guess at this point is that the green oxide is appearing on some parts with a high-copper substrate that might be reacting with some nearby corrosive element, possibly leaking from a deteriorating battery. If the corrosion is extreme then the watch may have been sitting for some time in an environment that may have accelerated it. On other electronic equipment, old capacitors on a motherboard can leak a caustic substance that might cause damage to other components.

So you're concerned there may be some of that green crud that could have sloughed off into the works? Copper salts are often conductive. It might be moist and pasty or dry and crystalline, but if you can gently remove it, you minimize the chance of damage. I've salvaged all kinds of electrical and electronic stuff that had gotten wet. You want to get it open quickly, flush it out quickly if it's been in saltwater or something corrosive or nasty, spray wd40 on anything that looks logical for it, and dry it as quickly as possible. You've already got this thing open in a dry, controlled place, so just dry brush as much as you can see, then swab it finally clean with alcohol of at least 70 percent. I've also submerged boards in alcohol when more extreme measures are needed.

Once you're sure it's absolutely dry, put a good battery in. If it works, use it. If not, save the battery and put the rest in the proper disposal stream.

How to fix non certified device? Thanks for help

I had this issue, it was from a malicious play store overlay/update. I went into settings, apps, playstore, disabled. Then clicked top right menu (3 dots). Clicked uninstall updates. Cleared storage, and proceeded to do same with Play Services app. Then re-enable both. Open play store, go into settings, click about, and under play store version, click update play store. Repeat until it says you're running current version. Last step is to go into Phone Settings, Security, and it should show Google Play System Update, check that and it should update play services and add security patch.
I'll try this. Thanks

Google pixel 6 cannot receive calls

For a month now my Google pixel 6 cannot receive calls. All calls immediately go to voicemail. I missed lots of important calls. I contact my carrier (Tmobile) and one agent was able to fix it for one call. Next day the issue comes back. The fix is using 'Reset Option' / 'Reset Wifi - mobile - Bluetooth' then immediately shutdown the phone. It's very annoying. When I google about the issue I found that many people experience the same symptom.
I consider Google pixel 6 the worse phone in the world, because it cannot perform the main goal of a phone.
Go into settings, Network and Internet, Internet, then click settings icon, scroll down, click access point names. Get APN info from Google. Can just search for it. Add apn's manually.

Hack proof my phone

Buy a new device. Look into GrapheneOS. Sandboxed OS, allows degoogling phone. Pixel devices work great. You can disable all apps then quickly enable again, without losing your data.
They prob have a persistent spyware, or have your google as an enterprise/managed device. Only way you can check is by system logs. Some kind of new backdoor that seems to follow all accounts made... I'm dealing with this on my normal phones. My GrapheneOS Pixel seems to be secure so far.

Suggestions on a Windows USB login Key

I frequently have to log into multiple laptops either using my regular AD acct or my Administrator account and both passwords are long and the Administrator password changes every 30 days.

I was hoping someone could suggest a USB key that I could use to enter these credentials, change change when needed and use it to enter either my regular or Administrator credentials instead of me needing to type them in myself.

I don't need mult factor authentication, just the username and password for either my regular AD account or my Administrator account.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Most newer androids have an option for setting as security key for google, not sure if google is integrated in your laptops.

You can also buy USB keys. Just don't lose lol

Help My S5e has been restarted randomly in every 2-10 hours, what to do to fix it?

I got Tab S5e a month ago, I've ordered it from Amazon. It was a 128 GB/6 GB version. Okay, since the day I picked it up, it works great and functions very well but it restarts randomly like a few times a day. When my tablet is off and I'm not using it at the time, it restarts randomly as Tab S5e logo appeared on screen, meaning that it resets themselves.

The tablet also turns itself on while my tablet is off and on plug charging.

The battery is still good. Both volume and power buttons aren't sticky. The tablet also rubs faster and I had no problem with that.

Here are the things I tried to prevent this but didn't help.

- Switching to Safe Mode
- Wiping system cache
- Removing the plastic rubber case

Will you help me find the solution without even returning it?

Thank you.
Try doing sysdump through adb. you'll need to enable developer mode and enable USB. Be careful, if connected to a compromised computer it could affect your device. Sysdump should have the reason it's restarting. Another option is going a bug report. Both are going to be tedious, lots of reading.

remove work/personal sections

Hi all -

This isn't exactly a development question, but I couldn't find a more appropriate forum.

Somehow, in my setup of my Galaxy Tab A, I ended up with two sections to the main display: Personal and Work. I don't need this separation, and I find it inconvenient. Can someone please tell me how I can remove this feature?

Thanks...
Should be under Settings, then Accounts, or could be System or Security. Might vary on version.

How can I tell if a software update is legitimate?

No, not really. Many people jump to the conclusion that their phone has been hacked when something doesn't work the way the expect, or when they see things they don't understand. When phone does exhibit some form of security issue, 99.9% of the time it's because the user has installed something unsafe or the Google account has been cracked -- either by using easy passwords or sharing them with someone else.

A true hack into a mobile device is so rare, it can be considered non-existent.
Actually it's not rare at all. Unfortunately Android doesn't allow you to do much analysis without root. Root will then be detected by many malware types, then it hides and destroys itself or sometimes rewrites itself to seem normal.

Show me what I listen

1. I have always an app that is displayed. Nothing more, you can not start using it as a normal tablet. Even if you do when you turn on the display again you should see just the specific application on top
2. nice
3. Not being able easlily to select another app. For example kids to take the tablet to play games, they should see it as a device that is only for that specific media player
4. Now that I think of will be nice to even lock the touch screen for kids and have a special way to unlock it
