I am looking for something that works with a standalone tablet and does not require preprocessing somewhere else. If there is a solution that works with little preprocessing on the tablet itself that would also be fine.

I'm with you. I got Stylo. Didn't think much about it but took many notes on lock screen. Then started using it a lot. I have a lot of valuable stuff saved 9n it. I too never expected to have a nonLG phone. But they quit making them . I have a moto g stylus now & would really love to have all those Quickmemos on my new phone. I did transfer them all from Stylo 2 to 5 fine. Somebody has surely figured it out. One thing you can do is save each one as a long continuous pdf. Mine will allow that. But you lose any location/alarm stuff you set on the notes.

Attachments are different anyway. Textra does SMS and MMS, but MMS is about the worst way to send any sort of media (limited files sizes, poor image resolution, and here in the UK it's also stupidly expensive - ironic, since SMS have been effectively free for a very long time).

If "Messages" means Google's app, does that mean you are using RCS to send them? If so it does rely on the other person being able to receive RCS too (far from a given: only a few message apps support RCS, not all networks, and of course only Android phones). Once you get beyond SMS/MMS we're stuck with the problem of both parties needing to use the same system, and while the idea had been that RCS would solve that as a universal, built-in standard the reality is that that hasn't worked (because it requires effort from the networks and because Apple refuse to support it as it would mean that iMessage would no longer be able to lock Apple customers in).

The honest truth is that if I have a significant attachment to sent I'll use email anyway.

I used to work for pearl vision back in 1999/2000, as lab technician, most lenses were plastic or polycarbonate, however due to the strength of some prescriptions we made the lenses out glass, which was a major headache. fortunately I think we only made two or three pairs

Right. A .so file is a shared library(shared object). After unzipping an .apk file, you can find one or more .so files if there is any shared library in that app.

It should be in the documentation that came with your router, the same admin that sets the SSID and PSK password.

Does your WiFi come from a router you don't have admin access to, e.g. WiFi is provided by a landlord, or the router is rented from an ISP, or you're in a hotel. etc.?

I still use a Commodore 64. Well a modern version C64 Mini, I bought from TaoBao.

As I've already posted, you don't need a computer to configure a router admin via WiFi. It can be done by pretty much any smart-phone or tablet, as long as it has a browser.

This is a simple test.

As far as the extra software, it is only 7.64MB in size aftermoths of use.

The test would show if it is the device or the app causing the issue.

Sorry for the late reply, I only check in every 4th blue moon.
That's actually a good option for in the house since that's where my signal struggles the most. It just sucks more juice and my battery is now getting weak.

Any folder one of your gallery apps can see should do (so pretty much anywhere).

Have just installed and purchased the Software called "Music Tag" this lets you change the Tag names, which I found by following the Android experts above advice, I found that 7 of the songs in one of my Albums, had a different Album Tag name. Once I used the software to change the album name tagged incorrectly, then transferred to my phone, all was good. Hope this can help someone.

Guess I've got the usual (for me) "strange things" issue where what works on everyone else's system refuses to work on mine. Numerous You-tube vids out there showing the Firestick signal being decoded after passing thru a 1 -> 2 splitter, but somehow not working for me. Oh well...

Make sure to carefully read everything in that link and that you understand the entire process.

This phone is an old model where you need flash an unlocked bootloader. On modern phones you can usually unlock the bootloader on the manufacturers website.

If the problem persits, I would eliminate the swipe 'fearure' and anything like that.

See if the problem continues.

Stock apps are only there to get the user by until something better is found.

Stock utility apps are hard to use, slow, convoluted, and often contain unnecessary permissions (why does a calculator need internet, and why does a clock need contacts?)

Get better apps, and disable the stock junk that you can.

Also, I've noticed that the volume control (rocker switch) and stylus don't work as in my earlier Android phones.

The volume switch doesn't follow Chromecast streaming apps (Netflix, Youtube, Prime Video, HBO, etc) when no media app is running in foreground on the phone anymore. Instead it ineffectively controls the general "Media" volume. Is there a setting that would allow the volume control to automatically follow the Chromecast streaming app with no foreground media app, the way it worked on my Note8 / Android 8?

And the stylus seems to have trouble tapping. Writing seems mostly fine (it does sometimes appear to interrupt a word into two). By tapping I mean tapping an on-screen control (with the exception of the navigation buttons) or moving a cursor in a text entry widget; seems to take multiple taps before being recognized, and selecting an entire word is hit-or-miss. Further, when in whole-screen handwriting mode, and switching to a finger in order to scroll, the finger is detected as the stylus and writing continues. Is there a setting or technique that can improve these behaviors?
