Question for those of you on Verizon

I purchased the N10+ 5G in Aug 2019 when they debuted and although there was no 5G here in San Diego yet I was told that as soon as there was I would get it on my phone. During the time I've had the N10+ 5G I've gotten 4G the vast majority of the time and it's dropped to 3G and 1G on a few occasions. I would check in with them 2 - 3 times a year to see where they were at with the 5G roll out here and when I eventually found out that 5G nationwide was in San Diego I still was not getting it on my device. I went into a corporate Verizon store and was told by a rep that it actually hadn't started up here because there had been delays in getting the equipment installed to provide that 5G. While I was in the store they looked at my device and confirmed that it was 5G ready. While I was in that store I did get the 5G ultra wide on my phone but of course that went away as soon as I left the store. Jump to a couple of months ago when I started having some issues with my device and contacted Verizon again to deal with them and after some head scratching interactions with multiple people & bots I went into a corporate store and when the rep looked at my phone she discovered it did not have a 5G SIM card in it. Remember back when I said multiple times I've been told that the phone was 5G ready well that turned out to be incorrect. After putting a 5G SIM card in it, it still did not get 5G. They finally agreed to replace my device again but then told me I'd have to pay $200+ even though I pay the insurance. I've had many phones replaced over the years for various technical issues with both Verizon and Sprint for many years before that and this was the 1st time I'd ever been told I had to pay out of pocket for a replacement phone when I have insurance on it. I balked at it and they relented and sent it to me at no additional cost. Upon getting the replacement phone and moving the 5G SIM card into it I still did not get 5G nationwide. At this point the issue is being dealt with being dealt with at the tear 2 and tier 3 levels and and the 2 or 3 person I spoke to yesterday told me that she didn't find anything stating that the N10+ 5G was able to get 5G nationwide but was going to look into this further before stating that for sure. She said that it was possible Samsung would have a software solution to this but now I'm thinking that I might never get 5G nationwide on this device.

That's where I'm at up to this point.

Just be glad that the device works at all.
5G is a huge scam, and what you experienced when it worked while at the store is exactly what it will be.
As soon as you turn around or another person/object blocks the signal, it will be gone.

As technology goes beyond 5G, this problem will only get worse for the vast majority of us.

Eventually, only the elite few that are living in controlled environments will have working cellular service.

Help Google can't find my phone

My son's friend works for the Gov't. That's as far as I'm going with that. He gets paid to hack into cellphones. All he was willing to tell me was that they are easy, even iPhones. He said that "precaution" was the key. Don't use ANY public wifi, and if it's a pain in the butt to open your phone, then you did the right thing.

I sometimes use public WiFi, but I'm always using a secure VPN.

Export mail from built in samsung mail app

Bugger! I have a similar issue. I use two different devices to access my emails, Microsoft mail on my PC and the native app on my phone. I've recently had the issue of various emails disappearing from my PC but still being on my phone. I have been informed this can occur when one of the email clients is set up using pop instead of IMAP so it was suggested I back up my emails on my phone, remove the old account and set up a new IMAP account, then re-store those emails on my phone from the back up.
My emails are still held on the server though, so if I've read this correctly, I could remove the POP account from my phone, reconfigure an IMAP account on my phone and simply sync my phone with my email server to restore my emails.
Can anyone please confirm if I have understood this correctly or if there is more to it?

Help S21 plus no data during calls

I've read about this a few times on AF, and it's apparently when a carrier netowrk doesn't support VoLTE with certain phones, and so it's using a 3G CDMA network for the calls. CDMA/EV-DO doesn't allow simultaneous calls and data AFAIK.

Are you in the US and is your carrier Verizon, or something?
And what exact variant of the S21 have you got there. Was it imported, as you said you have two SIMs in your phone? AFAIK dual-SIM phones aren't usually sold in the US

Automatically opening multiple Websites

It would help if you actually referred to the browser app you're using. They all have different feature sets and there's a lot of variances as far as user interfaces. Samsung's default browser? Chrome? Firefox? Brave?
Offhand, it sounds like your browser app is set to some kind of 'restore previous session at startup' so until you intentionally close all those previously opened web sites they just keep getting reloaded when you start up the app. Or just more supposition, some exploit has inserted a bunch of junk pages into your chosen web browser app's start up page option. Go into that web browser's Settings/Preferences/Options menu and see what's listed in its startup page option. If that doesn't show anything out of sorts, try going into your phone's Settings >> Apps menu, find and open the web browser app entry, tap on Force stop, and then find and tap on Clear cache. If all those websites still show up when you start the browser app again, you might need to use the Clear data option instead. Note that wipes all the browser app's settings and configuration files so any changes and things you've previously made to your web browser app will be deleted.

Are all or some of those pages that are automatically showing up sites you've visited previously or are they just spammy, junk sites or something like that? This could determine whether the problem is just a maintenance mistake or an actual compromise of some sort.

Note 8 verizon phone never updates os, etc...

Just updating, back then I had to download the sprint android OS for this phone and manually install the OS.
This is what happens, I am on Verizon, and this happened to be a Sprint phone, so it would never upgrade the OS.
Somewhere I found the image and used a procedure to make it happen. Dont recall all the details, but I had bought the phone used and the seller was using it with Verizon, so I assumed it was a Verizon phone...

Help Google Chrome Synchronization

@Milo Williamson What happens with my history on Android and desktop PC. Will history from both devices be available on both devices? Also what happens with bookmarks? On desktop PC have a lot of them and several folders. Will they be available on smartphone? I try to keep bookmarks to a minimum on smartphone. Enabling Sync on desktop PC will cram all of bookmarks to smartphone?
1) All my bookmarks when synching via from my chrome to Moto edge plus, does stay in there forever, but there are some times you synch and they end up doubling up on you, so got to be aware of that part, Indeed you can still have your history on it too,I try to keep them as well as to a minimum too,it is even strange, on how many you know without typing them up, additionally, how many can you misspell like on here "Android forms" my brain does not ass into the "U" after the "R" in my mind though, but that is a different site altogether, so you got to bear with that in mind, but you can always write down each one inside a build-in notepad app or just scribble them away, and keep them in your search boxes too.

2) Depending on what browser you are using, usually most of the knights, (i.e. Mozilla, Microsoft and Alphabet "Chrome") Does a great job of carrying those over too, but you kind of have to keep them secretive on your p.c., even when doing nothing it just saves you the massive hassle, just as long as you do not attempt invisible browsing that is a major mistake, sure you have a ton of options of having so many varriations of different addons though, but the mistake people tend to forget is once you go underneath, you might as well handshake with the devil type of deal.

3) "What happens with the bookmarks?" I just wrote that above.

4) "On desktop PC I have a massive ammount of them, and several folders." Like I said depending on what you can selective over, just do not download the same edge marks on the pioneers though.

5) "I try to keep them to a minimum, on my smart phone." Likewise I just use duckduckgo and firefox to erase that massive clutter and tend to delete them almost instantly.

6) "Enabling synch on my desktop PC will cram all bookmarks to smartphone"Well if you have some of the bookmarks selective and just email them to yourself to say "This is what I want to keep on my cell, and this is what I want to keep at home base,or on my cloud service."
