This sounds pretty in depth, so I'm going to do this over the weekend...

The issue came back and no amount of cleaning seemed to help. I found a thread elsewhere which seemed to resolve the issue- Hopefully for good this time.,

This applies to people who have a Samsung wireless charging back cover. If you remove that, there are 5 metal contacts that do not exist in the standard cover. Place a small piece of masking take over the upper 2 contacts nearest the camera, then replace the cover. I confirmed this does not impact the charging function. I also looked for a replacement back cover assuming that was bad and found that there are 3rd party covers which only have the lower 3 contacts, so that gave me additional confidence in this fix.

No, it just uses whatever tone that's set, no way to set one up for individuals.
I played with it for a bit and you can't even set individual ringtones unless you are forwarding calls to your carrier. If GV is set for data/wifi only for calls it uses the default ringtone, if set to use your carrier it will use individual ringtones. No such workaround for voicemail or text notifications because they can't be broken out on the carrier/phone side settings.
Hope that made sense. Short answer is no though.

edit: caveat - tasker or ifttt or something similar may be able to get you closer but that's above my pay grade for tasker

I don't think there is any. However, I have never experienced such dilemma.

Yes I've been using the hotspot on my phone as a wireless modem/router for the several devices (including my pc) in my house for the past 5 years as I have a decent amount of data on my phone plan.

I use 'Smart View' (on the swipedown menu) on my Samsung tablet to select the chromecast and that mirrors the screen of the tablet onto the TV. (whatever happens on the tablet screen happens on the TV, which means unlike casting I can't browse or do anything else with with the tablet whilst the netfilx or youtube etc. video is playing on the tv) .

It still requires the wireless modem/router (my phone) to relay through but does not use any data.

Like you I don't have a smart tv but the 'smart view' function can be used to mirror the screen onto one of those as well, again without requiring internet data/streaming.

Well, an update from me, since it has been long enough.

Decided to give a spin of LineageOS, since there are no new Resurrection Remix ROMs anymore, and Lineage seems to be the only one still getting updates at this time. Mercifully, I was able to continue using TWRP; and its update script is even compatible with that recovery too.

I do miss some of the tinkering levels of customization, but it really is about as simple as an Android ROM gets. Reminds me of the old days of AOKP on the S 3. Battery usage from system is also measurably better; at least, GSam reports an average of an extra hour of screen on time since the ROM switch.

The previous post had an answer that worked-for awhile- but alas I was back to square one . Then again by accident I had the problem solver that continues to work. Turn your tablet sideways as you must do now, pull down the notification bar. Leave it fully extended and turn your tablet back to display in the verticle position. Close the notification bar. Now PULL IT DOWN! THIS WORKS! I don't know how or why and I don't care. It works and I am happy.

I am having the same issue.
Just switched to the power from Samsung.
I use camscanner app to send customers jpegs of my weekly price sheet. they all come out blurred no matter what size.
All I get from the manufacturer, carrier and 3rd party app is finger pointing. No one will help. Have you had any more success resolving this issue ?

Thanks to everyone for your advise . I will try the things mentioned. The phone service is Tracfone and the phones get little use. I don't have cell service at my home so the phones are used only when traveling. years back when I had my children home I installed a roof antennae with a in house amplifier but today we only use landline from our home. I will start looking to eventually upgrade the phones but for now will streamline the apps installed. Thanks again

The issue here is I can't complete boot up so can't do that.

Currently I can login in the Gmail account on a browser, so account & pwd is confirmed.
The phone does not accept them - even though if I use rest pwd - that works and reset secondary account also works ...... but won't allow me to login. Anybody have any suggestions ..... or do I need to send it to Samsung repair

Motorola has a page to check which phones work with carriers, it only has recent phones listed:

Other manufacturers might have similar lists. If you go to a retail store the IMEI is listed on the box, you could check it on your carriers site before buying.

I recently purchased a Realme X7 max 5G which has the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 (MT6893). But when I was checking on some apps it shows MT6893Z/CZA in the system information. I checked the code name on Google and the results were about MediaTek dimesity 1100. I don't know anything about how these names work so can someone explain why the information in apps is different from the actual Mediatek dimensity 1200(MT6893).

Just wanted to say I love your app. I use it to bypass the tether throttling on my T-Mobile phone, which as of today stopped working when I changed the TTL to 65. Your app is the only wait for me to get full speeds on my Mac. I'm even able to share my connection using tethering over Wi-Fi from my Mac! My question is this:

I'm able to see tetrd as a network interface in Macos "sharing" menu in the system preferences. But I can't see it as a network interface in the "network" menu in system preferences. I'm trying to work out how T-Mobile knows that I'm tethering even though I've changed my TTL to 65, which used to work for wi-fi. But I'm not able to go into the network settings and adjust or even view IP information / proxy information because to etrd only shows up in the sharing menu and not the network one. Can you please help?
