Heart on top notification bar

What is that pink heart notification for? It is on my boyfriend’s phone
Thanks
we get this question everyday. the problem is that there are millions upon millions of apps out there....especially ones with a heart icon. so unless it is something like facebook or youtube, most of these threads go unanswered.

a heart icon could be anything from a fitness app to a dating app. its a pretty generic icon.. the only true way to know for sure is to either trust him or just ask him.

Help Permanently hide update OS notifications

puppykickr - did are you suggested, but am still getting the popup notification...

Yeah, I have a newish poop device that is doing the same thing.

I have not found a way around it yet.

The damn thing forced an update during a restart around Father's Day, and all that was updated were a bunch of Google crAPPS that I do not even use, along with about 20 apps that I do not want updated at all.

Security update my @$$.

I also got a bunch of spam in my e-mail inbox as well.

Total poop.

I had to uninstall all the updates to the Google apps and find the versions that I prefer of the others.

I was severely POed about it.

I went through my apps, and discovered that some of the system apps that I could not disable were able to be disabled if I went to Advanced, Battery, and then Disable was able to be used.

This at least allowed me to prevent the forced update from occurring, although I have not yet been able to prevent the pop up notification.

Tonight I will install an app that identifies what apps are producing toast notifications.

Toast Source.

https://m.apkpure.com/toast-source/pl.revanmj.toastsource

I have used it before with great results, although for different reasons.

Hopefully I can identify the turd and eliminate it or at least the screen feces it produces.

Help Google assistant

maybe it is. you can always send a report to google and inquire, rather than read a lot of speculation over the internet.

to help, i just setup the google assistant and once i did, and accepted the new privacy blurbs (that is associates certain thigns you say with their partners blah blah blah...) i was able to access the google assistant by voice. i attached a screen shot of the setup screen that starts the process. perhaps you can try this too..

Apps Play Services works in dev build but not in prod build

Hey there,

We've built a game with Unity and are trying to implement Play Services. When we build a development build with Unity and test, the play services tooltip pops up and shows that we have logged in and achievements/leaderboards work correctly.

As soon as we build a production build, it stops working. No pop up, trying to manually trigger a login doesn't work. Nothing.

We've added our SHA-1 key from the play console to the play services config and cloud API oauth creds.

For a few days now we've been completely stumped and can't seem to find any guidance outside of it being an issue with the SHA-1 key which we've done everything we can think to do with.

Any other suggestions? Any easy way to debug production builds without integrating something extra?

Thanks in advance!

Android APK encryption

That's what I thought as well about encrypting APKs I thought it was worth a shot to double check :) It would have been wonderful if Dahlvik could directly execute encrypted binaries (with HW acceleration)... Like it's common use in the automotive industry to prevent reverse engineering. I think I'll encrypt the senstitive parts of the C/C++ library using Android keystore systems for safe key storage, load the (encrypted) sensitive lib parts in RAM, decrypt them and execute from RAM - Not the optimal solution from security point of view but still better than nothing. I'll also obfuscate the Java code as well, Thanx for the information :)

SMS question

They cannot block anything at the network level.
But I think I found a simple solution - I will change my number tomorrow.
This should work, I should have thought of this right away.
There is some inconvenience in taking this road for obvious reasons - but it is OK.

Thank you for all your replies, I appreciate them all.

Will they not also charge you money to change phone numbers?

The carriers are complicit in these spam calls and texts.
That is why it will never stop.

The idea that people are being charged to receive such tripe is confirmation in the carriers' part in the spam.

Need Clarification on Wi-Fi Settings

I tried the kiss launcher, couldn't get it to do anything, swipe left right up down long press, luckily the only icon that was on the screen was settings, and it worked.

Yup.
No swiping.
That's exactly why I like it.

Three dots on lower right enters the launcher settings.

Circle on lower left opens the 'app drawer', which is in list form, and scrolls backwards.

Yes, it is very, very strange and different.

But check this out...
Use your old launcher to open settings and get to the app page of any specific app.

Now, do the same thing with KISS instead.

Find your app in the app drawer, and long press it.

External settings is an option right there.

Another cool feature is enter 'apps' in the search bar.
The entire apps settings list immediately opens, without the usual bunk of...
setting
apps
show all apps

KISS also learns your habits, and it becomes such an integral link between the user and device that I can't see how I ever did without it.

The speed and efficency is mind blowing.

Like I said, it took me about 24 hours of use to see that my decision had already been made.

I had tried soooooo many different launchers, weeks of testing and infuriating searching for something that I could relate to.

This one looked so weird, and was so different.
I actually did not like it at all, and fell asleep before I could find and try another launcher.

The more I used the device and in between times searching for yet another launcher, it slowly became clear that I already was using exactly what I was searching for.

View executed code while running / debugging an app

Hello everybody, I am very new to android studio and app development in general. I am working in a project which already has developed an app with a lot of features. I shall improve certain features and therefore I need to understand which files and which code are executed at which point in the app. Since there are a lot of different files with complex code, I was wondering if it is possible to see which code (or file) is executed while running/debugging the app?
I read that I could use breakpoints, however it is quite difficult to even find out where even to put the breakpoint if you do not know which file is executed for which feature. Do you have any ideas what I could do?

Best J :)

Wrongs reviews on Google Play

Ah yes incredible! I've never seen this inversion on an Android device. Could you send me a report using the "send a bug report" function in the main menu (accessible by clicking on the gear wheel)? Thank you!

PS: What is very strange is that you seem to have tested an older version. The presentation has changed since then. The latest version is 3.0.217 ...

Ah. I made a mistake in the urls. I'm sorry:

The latest version is here:
