Go to phone settings,

Install Services,
Click on switch access
check if the beep is on so then click on the switch off button

Follow this process and switch off your mobile beep
HI. Thank you for the response. There is not an option called switch access on my S21 Ultra Android 11.

Help Storage permission is required

Svim, thank you for your response.

Yes, I understand that and I don't want to change anything in the file structure. That is not what I want to do. In fact, the specific folders I am talking about are ones I created. So they should not be restricted (in theory).
I already tried another file manager and that worked. So it's weird that My Files (or Gallery?) is asking for permission to view an image on folders I have created.

To be honest, My Files is crap.
I didn't piddle with that piece of junk for 30 seconds before I looked for something else.

Ditto for the stock Gallery app.

Once I discovered Simple Mobile Tools, the stock utility apps were outta there.

It's not that I ask too much, but basic funtioning seems to be too much to ask of stock utility apps.

Help Spaced/overlapping text font in Google apps

You mean the versions of the google apps and services? here they are:
-Google : 12.19.11.23.arm64
-Google Play Store : 25.7.22-21 [0] [PR]
-Google Play Services : 21.21.16
-Google Chrome : 90.0.4430.210
-Youtube : 16.22.35
There are some other google apps but they're not as important.
also 2 things to note:
-I can't find any messed up text in the youtube app anywhere. so maybe this bug doesn't affect the youtube app.
-My Mate 20 pro came with Google apps and services pre-installed.

Help What is this icon?

Hiya,
Just wondering what this icon is on my kids phone, tik tok and ?
Cheers

I had that same icon at the top of my phone last week. It represented an alert from Samsung regarding an update to their privacy settings. I've also seen that icon in the past as an alert from Samsung that my phone is not being backed up, since I have used all my allotted space in the Samsung cloud. So basically (in my case) it represents alerts about my Samsung account.

J7 (2015) is not enough memory

Your device is 6 years old.
I can tell you how to remove stuff to get some use out of it, but there is no way to expand the memory effectively.

The battery, if it hasn't been already, will need replacement soon.

Eliminate any apps that you don't use, and also any that you can use your browser for instead (like social media).

Is there an SD card?
If so, put all your videos and pictures, music, etc. on it.

Two dates displayed on bootup

Ha, moving mass amounts of files to a new device last night, and the old device choked and rebooted itself.

In frustration I watched the thing reboot, and what to my bloodshot eyes should appear?

The wrong date and time- for about two seconds- which then showed the correct time.

OMG, AM I HACKED?

No, the clock and time portion of the device just must be towards the end of the list of apps that are qeued to autostart upon bootup.

The wrong time and date is shown, because the apps controlling such things have not fully started, linked to wherever they get their info from, and then displayed the correct date and time.

I have added multiple apps that start on bootup, so it is understandable that after 3+ years I am noticing this now.

Help Would like to what could possibly be wrong based on my phone behavior described within

Those odd power issues would appear to be battery-related, the issue being that is a 4ish year old phone. So do you want to spend the money to have the battery replaced in the hopes that is indeed the problem or devote that money into buying a new phone?
If you have the necessary tools and are comfortable tearing down a smartphone, the iFixit site has a nice step-by-step guide on replacing the battery in your model:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Motorola+Moto+G5s+Plus+Battery+Replacement/114372
Note that you'll also need a slow, patient hand and a good heat gun, there's a lot of glues and adhesive involved. Also, it might be prudent when searching online for parts that in Motorola's infinite wisdom it released two different but closely related models - the Moto G5S Plus and the Moto G5 Plus within months of each other. (...and just for the lulz, there's the newer Moto G 5G Plus)

Can't see used memory on Galaxy J3

The file manager only shows "public" files in the internal storage. It doesn't show apps, doesn't show app's "private" data (most of the data apps store), doesn't show any of the system partitions (where the operating system, radio firmware, bootloader and all of the stuff that makes the phone actually work live). Basically if you want to undertand what is using space, a file manager is of very little use.

So start from the system storage settings. They can be misleading and unhelpful in some ways (and exactly which ways can differ between phones), but they'll give you some idea. A 16GB Samsung immediately after a factory reset probably has about 10GB available: the rest is taken by the system (this is true for all computing devices: they quote the total storage, not what's available to the user after you take out the bit needed by the system). You are "guessing" that 2-3 GB is taken by apps: if you are right that means you don't have or use many web browsers, social media apps, etc. What does the storage menu tell you? Go into Settings > Apps and (if you have the option) tell it to sort apps by size, and see how big some are: on my phone Google Play Services is using > 700 MB by itself (60MB cache, which can be cleared, the rest being the app itself plus the vast amount of "user data" it stores), my main browser is using a GB (600 MB of which is cache), email apps can be surprisingly thirsty, etc. And remember that if an app stores data in the part of the internal storage that your file browser can see that isn't counted in these totals. So start by looking at the system menu and see what it tells you about how the storage is used, but my guess is that you'll find that one way or another your apps are using a lot more space than you think.

There are apps out there that can give you more detailed information on exactly what is using space. I like DiskUsage for this, which will show how everything but the system partitions is used (you can do nothing about the system storage anyway, so that's irrelevant here).

A few days ago I began getting a memory near-full warning. I deleted unused apps, nearly all pics, and my storage now shows 44.2MB images, no documents, no videos, no audio, and 3GB of apps. Yet the total shows only 2.7GB available and 13.3GB system/user data. With just over 3GB user data, how can the system consume 10GB?

Question on Android project for beginners

That makes a change, someone complaining about replies to a post that nobody knows anything about. They usually complain not getting any replies.
Of course I can't help you with your problem, as I'm not a dev, and don't know anything about "android projects".
You might try starting with Android for Developers.

@ABCEasyuser hopefully you find this comment useful.

So far, things are going okay.

Likes: A hidden personal folder, color and brightness adjustments, tons of memory
Dislikes: Device is slow on the uptake using the touch screen: half the time my touches don't register, and I suspect that some of the button areas are just painfully small. Slow when moving data to the device from my laptop, Pocketbook not loadable (haven't tried importing the apk manually yet) via app store nor built-in browser and damn few items in the app store to begin with. No buttons, but that's kind of minor. Did not get a free case; again minor, but damn the thing is heavy and slippery without one.

Calibre (linux) is inconsistent with finding the device; but then, it has been that way with every one of my devices... my best bet, it appears, is to pull up Calibre right at boot and do my stuff.

Help accessibility not working

well who cares if it's not allowed there are ways around it, don't let your government take away your freedom's, recording calls is a right. period, if i can see it and hear it i can record it. just like they can't stop you from recording in a public place they shouldn't be able to stop you from recording phone calls, this is absurd.

Back in the days of rotary dial phones, when you rented the phone from the telco, you could stick a magnetic pickup to the phone's receiver, and you recorded calls to a cassette. Of course then there was no electrical connection between the phone line and the recorder, and the telco and govt couldn't do anything about it.

From what I've read on AF many call recording apps relied on the phone been in handsfree loudspeaker mode, and so was just recording the call's sound using the phone's microphone. Which is really the analog hole method of recording.

EDIT:
A user posted on AF last week, that apparently OnePlus phones have call recording as standard in their Oxygen OS(which comes from China), but it might be disabled depending on the inserted SIM's country, like in UK or USA. Which is presumably to meet telecommunications approval requirements in those countries.

Does anyone know what app sends this notification?

Of course I didn't recognise a "Digital Wellbeing" notification because I've turned-off notifications from that thing. But it irritates me that Google won't even let me disable it: it's of no interest to me, disabling notifications means that it has no function on my phone, but it still has to run because Big Brother Google says so. Nothing on the phone depends on it, so it's in no way essential, so why can't they let us disable it?
