Downoad YouCut, and use that to edit the video.
If it does not appear as an option when you tap 'edit', then share the video to YouCut instead.

I even use YouCut as a video transcoder when I have media that will not play in any other app.

Thanks for the kind advice ocnbrz, and Hadron (Smoke me a kipper)...I could not agree more with your characterization of "the cloud." Interesting that SMS Backup and Restore is not cloud-based.

I applied the fix I saw at the end of the latest update of the Endgadget piece, so we shall see.

One thing I saw when I was updating Android System WebView that cracked me up was this:

"Join the beta: Try new features before they're officially released and give your feedback to the developer"

I think I am part of the beta already, right? Tried the new features, and I doubt they want my feedback.

Did they ever update the camera software to fix the focus issue on the S20 Ultra or is the Note 20 Ultra the better phone to get for cameras?

Check the comparisons between S21 and S20 Ultra. I've seen this before where manufacturers focus on specs to market, taking one step forward on camera specs and 2 steps back on image processing.

Seems to be a cheap, chinese no-name camera... at least that's what a quick google search indicates.
I guess your most promising option would be to do what @Dannydet suggested and install the app on bluestacks.

I'm not American, so have no idea whether VZW should have just a single APN or a second one for MMS. If it should have 2 and you only see 1 that would be the problem.

I would check their support site, unless a Verizon customer here can provide the answer.

Yeah, the problem there is that the backup app in the Settings of your Samsung phone is a Samsung backup app. That's why it only talks to a Samsung account.

I do have one (old, semi-retired) Samsung device, but I never created a Samsung account, so I'm afraid I have no experience of this system.

Thanks for the reply. Chrome has been draining battery like crazy....it did the same a few months ago and then suddenly went down. Now, it's back up again. I like using Samsung Internet, uses far less battery, but not having bookmarks and (not so much) no auto fill-in could be a deal breaker. I use Chrome elsewhere, and I haven't used Firefox in years.

have tried rebooting the phone? also try putting the phone in safe mode and see if the issue persists. if it does then you most likely have a hardware issue. if it goes away then you have a 3rd party app causing the issue.

I've had this happen once and it sorted itself out eventually. App apparently installed ok, but like the OP there was no icon. Went back into Google Play and uninstalled. Reinstalled with the same issue. Went though that loop a few times and eventually gave up without uninstalling. A couple of days later the icon appeared. I only realised it had because one of the apps I use most had moved on the screen!
