I'm stuck developing an App that does the following:

I can add "Spots" with the Add button at the bottom of the activity_main.xml, I add them programatically, so I have a Layout with the "Spot Editor" that are just buttons and Text Inputs of every row to be added.

I inflate the entire Layout as a View in the activity_main.xml, so then I just want to fill data in the buttons and text inputs and "Add the Spot", so I delete that View of "Edit the Spot" and put another View programatically just the same way that is the "Final Spot", that displays the filled data with Text, not Text Inputs.

With the pencil icon I want to go back to "Edit mode"...

How can I get the data from the programatically added Views to fill the new Views (that I'm also adding programatically to the layout)?

Google you mean by that, you should intaken by itself, instead of chasing a wild ghost, or do the usb thing with your comp and just dump everything in that way, and work with your problem.

But keep in mind by rooting away something that is easily unavoidable you are in Ultra effing high risk, of not having everything that is on your phone, so would you just leave it be?

I would love to keep the 256 gb sd in the S5 but since it seems not to be working and I probably can't have 2 in at the same time, I have reluctantly stowed it for now. Of course, just because I bragged about being such a good caretaker and all around pocket person, I lost the darn thing. It fell right out of my pocket, along with other things. The good news is that I found it and now the SD and Cricket sim are in 2 separate bags in a larger bag of phone stuff. Meanwhile, photos and videos are apparently being automatically saved to sd, and I'm switching screenshots "by hand". That's taking a lot of time because it turns out that the phone has some dating back to last September. I suppose this sort of thing teaches patience...

Oh no, it's a keeper. We might sell it to the right person for the right amount. We haven't really tried taking it apart yet and are therefore unsure how to go about it. I guess we'll find out the hard way.

My work around was to put the setUpGUI code in another method I could call both from the Listener and the Activity.

A lot of manufacturer-branded apps (perhaps even more so with a Chinese corporation like ZTE) aren't freely available to the consumer as installable APKs, they're often inclusive only to the ROM for each model.
If no one here can provide one, you might have more relevant responses posting your question on ZTE's help forum:

If you look on F-Droid, they are all there.

Just do a search for 'Simple' and add what you are looking for...
gallery, dialer, contacts, calculator, calender, etc.

Be sure to also get the Thank You app, as it is an excellent way to sycronize the theme settings for the entire set.

All of the apps together are smaller in size than many single purpose apps.

Which app did you use to create those folders?
A media player app might create a folder that pertains only to its own content, while a file manager app will have a lot more access to other directories (.... but restricted from any access to system-level folders). But the file system directory tree -- folders within other folders -- doesn't change depending on how you view them, it's a fixed entity. So depending on the app you used to create those folders, it may or may not reveal their location. Use a file manager app to be sure, that's a part of their functionality and why they exist to begin with. Determine the location of those folders you created and then just use that exact same directory path when using your computer's file manager.

I had a few random USB charging port "moisture detected" issues. I followed each of the suggestions below that I found around the intertubes, and I believe that the first time it corrected by accident, while the second time I found an actual solution. I believe this is being cause by looseness/damage to the male charge pin in the charging port causing a short that triggers the moisture sensor alert.

TRIED but did not work:
Blasting with air
Putting in AC vent
Different charging cables
Multiple restarts
Apps / Show System Apps / USB Settings / Storage / Clear cache
Apps / Show System Apps / Android system / Force stop
Removing 'recently installed or updated' Apps

Note: Would not charge even with phone powered off.
Had to get a wireless charger as phone went completely dead

WORKED:
Inserted probe under bottom edge of male connector w/in charging access port on phone and gently pried up ever so very slightly. Accepted charge immediately after doing this.

A better design for the charger port would be to have no free play up/down but instead a snug fit of the cable into the port.

I hope this helps others.

Re the Male connector within the port, duh... where is that?

I have a 2018 Nokia 7 Plus just 13 months out of the box and I have recent problems with the port. I found its a known manufacturing issue with the Type C port on my model and 2 or 3 others, via Nokia forums and YT. I can send it away afaik but can't lose it for 7 - 10 days+ and heard of possible fixes.

Fitting an AC vent was tongue in cheek, right?

This sounds like a device administrator may have been installed onto the phone.

There are various available apps that can accomplish this.

The idea here is that it blocks other apps from using the camera, especially without the user's knowlege.

This is done for security, as some cameras can be manipulated into being active without user knowlege.

Since I don't have your device, the above is just a general outline of how to find the device administrators.

Android only allows one app at a time to have use of the camera (the microphone is the same way), so any other app that has access to the camera could cause the same issue as if a device administrator had been installed, ie. that message that you saw will pop up.

So, if there is a device administrator installed, disable it to use the camera. If it is an app like mine, there should be a simple method to turn it off and on. Mine has a quick setting tile in the pull down menu.

If this is not your case, then you should look through your apps to see which ones have Camera Permissions and force stop each one, then try the camera again, until your camera works.

Here is a simple app that you can use to sort your apps out by the Camera Permission (or any other permission, for that matter).
