Car dashboard, hard right turn, threw the open window to the pavement my cellphone goes

Oh, no. Not a Note 5. ANYTHING but that. It has no microSD slot, so 64GB is all you will ever have without cloud storage. Note 8 is getting very inexpensive right now, and prices for the Note 9 (which I greatly prefer) will plummet in late August/early September after the release of the Note 20. I recommend keeping your Note 4 and avoiding the Note 5 at all costs.

Lol :)

I agree, thsts why I didn't upgrade when the N5 was released. I would prefer a newer device but the bootloaders are all locked and I'm not willing to give up custom recovery nor root.
Hopefully I'll find a better alternative to the N5. The lack of expandable storage is such a downer. :(

Charging phone whilst switched on?

.....
Will it charge when it is switched on or must I switch it off always first? So far I have only charged it when it os off and it takes about 80 minutes to charge to 100% from say 9% full.
I use a 2 amp? charger which did not come with the phone.
.....

-- Yes, you should power off your phone when charging it. The charging circuitry will be able to function in a more optimal setting when the phone is powered off. But here in the real world we all have other things going on all the time so it's just not practical to do everything in such a manner. Most of us just plug our phones in when the battery needs a charge up, and for the most part that's quite adequate. So don't worry if you do or don't power off your phone, that's a minor point. Just keeping your battery continuously charged up is the biggest factor to help its overall life span.
-- Taking 80 minutes to charge the battery that much is a typical amount of time. Any battery that's in it single digits of capacity is going to take a while to charge up, and it's important to also take into consideration that your phone is over five years old and as smartphone batteries age it's not just that they don't hold a charge as well they also take longer to charge back up. It's unavoidable. (Unless you've had the original battery replaced with new one at some point):

-- Your phone most likely came with a 5 volt/1 amp adapter, that's the default charger that most manufacturers were including at that time. If you're using a 2 amp charger, keep using that one. It's not going to hurt anything and the battery is going to charge up faster than if you use that older 1 amp adapter.

Huawei(Honor 8x) GPS power issue

Please post here if you find an answer. Same issue here - and I wrote the mapping app I use! Seems the gps is truned off the instant you press the on-off button or when the screen times out. One solution I found was to set the screen timeout to 'never', set the brightness to low (but not too low that you can never see it to revert back!) and never touch the on-off button, and carry a space battery block with you. I intend to put an option in my app that blacks out the screen (tap to get the screen back) - that way it uses less power. Oh - and go in to the battery settings, App launch, and set the app to 'Manage manually'.

Backup Android Phone to Computer?

There are number of ways that can help you to backup Android data like contacts and photos and other data to PC. You can do it manually or even with the help of some professional software.
When we talk about a particular data like contacts to backup then here are few ways to do that:
1. Backup contacts to Gmail from Android phone
2. Use USB cable to directly backup data to PC
  • First, open Contacts app on Android phone
  • Then select Manage Contacts > Import/Export > Export to storage Doing this your contacts will be saved in VCF form in phone memory

  • After that, connect your device to the computer via USB cable and move to internal storage. Look for the contacts file, copy it, and then paste it on the computer.
3. Even you can use SD card to backup data from Android phone to computer

4. Use Bluetooth to backup data like contacts, photos etc and other data from phone to PC

Can I plz get more info on how to properly use Android forums?

Welcome to Android Forums, superandroninja! It's good to see a former lurker become a member and start participating. :)
i was trying to post a question within a string of questions within a specific forum.
I believe you're referring to this post, which created its own thread on the LG Leon board.

You're apparently looking for info/help with an LG Phoenix 3 [LG M150]. It looks like that doesn't have its own board, but you're welcome to ask questions on our Android Help board. Just use the 'add post' button and fire away!

It's always helpful to provide as many details as possible. So give it a descriptive title, state the problem you're having, and tell us about your device [name, its Android version, whether it's rooted]. We'll try to help!

Help I would like some advice on Xiaomi phones, please.

Why the confusion? That model apparently meets your list of wants.

Is there some other issue that needs to be taken into consideration?
Don't let yourself get caught up in 'buyer's remorse'. We all do to some extent.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buyer's_remorse
The reality is, no matter what phone any of us buy, there's always a better option that was available at a cheaper price. That's just a given. So give some serious thought into what you need in a smartphone, shop around, and then just buy the damn thing. Once you have in your own hands and start setting it up, you can forget about the rest.

You're right, of course, but I am have to take a lot of photos of artwork for my research to document things, I need a good camera and a fair bit of storage so I'm always worried I will make a mistake because I don't really know enough about phones. I was worried if I buy the 8 Pro it might be out of date as the 10 Pro just came out. And now you know why I have been without a phone for four months.

Help Bricked Samsung Tab S5e Tablet - Cant boot into recovery/bootloader

It's not a good sign if you cannot boot up at all. Even if the installed Android operating system was corrupted, you should still be able to at least boot up into Recovery or Download mode as neither is tied directly to the OS (both accessible before the OS even starts to get loaded into memory).

Have you left it charging for at least an hour to so? If there is a serious hardware failure involved, since this is a relatively new model any chance you still have any warranty coverage?
