He got a brand new charger but it doesn't seem to be working that well. Is the Qualcomm 3.0 the right kind for the LG X Charge? I suppose it could be the battery, which is probably nonreplaceable. If that's the case, would it be better to get another X Charge or a different phone entirely? He's kind of harsh on them. He's even talking about saving up (for years, I guess) and getting an Apple (I know, sacrilege).

Thank you very much for the response. It's for Gmail. Your link on Adaptive Battery was interesting, but *probably* not the issue since Gmail is already in the ACTIVE bucket, even when I have no window for it open. To further confuse matters, Battery Saver and Battery optimization are both turned off :/

I think I'm going to try disabling Adaptive Battery for now just to see if that's what's causing the issue. If that doesn't work, I have some other ideas such as filtering messages by certain contacts as important, or maybe even just keeping Gmail open throughout the night to ensure it stays in the ACTIVE bucket.

Don't know what limit is on folders, I do know I haven't reached it yet. Took me several times of remaking a folder, with a lot of apps, before I realized the overlap issue.

@Dannydet Thank you, I am aware of how to work google photos, but I do appreciate that not all do, and have it set up for her again on her new phone, so she has at least some of her old pictures. The possibility of pictures is only 1 reason to fix it. There's also the matter of not needing to have bought a phone at full price. Plus if she does choose to keep the new phone, having this one working would let us trade it in during a promotional trade in deal making it worth a couple hundred dollars.

As I understand it, the problem is due to the way that Android converts from one colour space to another. Apparently there's a single pixel in that image that causes a rounding error giving a colour value >255. And there's no OnSizeError try/catch, or IF Color_value > 255 Colour value = 255 Endif' to prevent a crash.

Hi. I have an app which fetches and displays some kind of status information, but don't give notifications when something happens. Do there exist apps which can monitor that app and give me a notification when the output screen of the first app is updated? Thank you for any recommendations.

No. A factory reset only clears the user data partition. Whatever OS you have installed at the time of reset will be the OS you have after the reset. However, that "optimizing" message you see is the OS recompiling apps after an OS update and should only happen once. The fact that you are seeing it with every boot means something's gone wrong with an app ... possibly a system app. I would first clear the cache's for all your apps and then clear the system cache. Then reboot. You will most likely see the message again, but then reboot a second time and it should be gone. If not, a factory reset might be in order.

Yeah, sorry but that's it. It's a bit surprising since OTG support has been widespread for 7-8 years now, but if you have a phone that doesn't support it there is nothing to do.

With the Stylo, I believe you have to hold both the power and the volume down button for up to 45 seconds to force a shut down. The power button alone doesn't do it.

159 x 71 x 8.7 gets you a new slim Sony Xperia L4 with decent specs. Slim but a little taller, as Sony like that aspect ratio. That should be easy to adjust to.

Other than the recommendations above, around me they are still selling new in box Samsung Ace models and similar, which are very small, but will struggle with apps.
