well, duh!!! turns out I did record the MIN #. so I have all the data need to put it back in service.

does anyone know the code need to enter the MDN & MIN #s. and please don't tell me to reseat the sim card. it does not support one.

I literally have thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos on three devices- all using this app.

I think it is safe to assume that such complaints are due to user error.

Not to mention that none of my devices are exceptional.

So, if it works just fine for a $40 2GB device, what would be the problem on a better phone?

On my crappiest device, a Poblano VLE5 1GB device, there is an issue when I move files from the device to the SD card- they appear, but show 0b of memory, cannot be shared, or done anything with.

The solution is to restart the phone.
Because this is such a low caliber device, a restart only takes 1 minute.

Suddenly, all photos and videos appear with full memory and capabilities.

So this is obviously a device issue, not an issue with the app.
This does not happen with the other two devices.

Why not just try it?

It's not like a gallery app will just magically delete all your media.

Man, WMP de-syncs from Android at will; Windows, historically, has never gotten along with Android. My cure? Run Tails OS. Or, be brave and run Oracle Virtualbox with Github wares. When I had to deal with this, I had to go back in the drive in Settings and reload Windows from the most recent backup, and it would sync again.

I got fed up with Windows. Now, my phones and computers use Spotify. It's a helluva lot more convenient, and you only have to "keep what you need" for offline playing, etc.

As a recording musician, I've used Cakewalk with Winblows to record and master tracks. But listening to the masters in Windows is a huge letdown, not to mention latency in the audio while tracking.

I hope this helps you, instead of coming across like opinions... best of luck.

I don't see how rooting will help. Your phone doesn't have access to their inbox except via WhatsApp's servers, and rooting your phone won't give you privileged access to them.

WhatsApp have a time limit for deletion which is quite short (WhatsApp themselves say "about an hour"). So when you are dealing with messages from years ago you are a long way outside that range. I don't know whether WhatsApp even keep the links they'd need to identity and delete a message delivered 2-3 years ago, and if they have those records they will have the timestamps that tell them when they were delivered, so I can't see how messing with the clock on your phone would change that.

In short, I'm sure you are wasting your time here.

Did you purchase the phone from the carrier, or is it unlocked? Do you use a VPN?

I am very new to android programming but I want to read a json file using async task, which seemed to work properly when I used a json file that was on a website (using http connection), but now I would like to do the same thing with my own json file. I have an assets folder called 'assets' where I've put my jsonFile.json.

I tried to open it using getAssets().open(), but that doesn't seem to work. Also my listFragment class (from which the loadJson is called, does not contain a context, so I can't parse the context from listFragment onto loadJson.

Is there anyone who knows how to help?

Those of you who have a good experience with metro congrats. Not exactly sure how you received special attention.. I have been a metro customer for 4 years. I have also paid for the extra hand set protection. I am a single mother of 4 and have unexpected bills that pop up on the time which is also why i chose prepaid service . I do not know why they even offer insurance because no matter how they soup it up to you and make it sound it is shit. There is no point in paying the extra money i did especially for my sons phone. When he ran his phone over i tried to call and see what i had to do to get his phone replaced the deductable was more than a new phone is for one and then i bought a unlocked phone from a individual and they refused to allow me to activate it because it wasnt a metro phone. So i bought another phone and after atleast 20 calls to.customer service and them telling me the number had been switched well that was over 5 months ago in which i have paid the bill every month still cant use the phone. It clearly.shows the number has been switched to the phone i currently have but for some reason not one person at metro can understand clear english. But then i waa put out of work due to corona virus i called and ask for them to please allow me 3 days until i received my check to pay. After 12 different reps I got a guy who when i ask him if he could just assist me in unlocking my device so i could take my phone else where he agreed to give me the 3 days i needed and also assured me my device was unlocked. As aggravated as i was i still politely thanked him and expressed my appreciation that he helped me. But low and behold the next morning my service was off and so i said forget this crap im going else where. Ha funny whatta know my device is still locked. So today i tried to go pay my bill although i seriously hate metro these days i cant afford to purchase a new phone at the moment and cant take it elsewhere because there reps dont even have enough sense to simply unlock a device. So i really didnt have a choice except to stay with metro at the moment but when i went to pay my bill my phone number is no longer recognized. I cant call customer service because when it ask for my number it immediatwly says cant find that and to make sure im entering the number i tried both numbers on my account and got the same mesaage. They no longer offer chat. It says they cant connect you at this time. Store hours are only 6am to 11. And further more than that i purchased both devices at the morganton store but when i went there about the whole insurance thing she told me i didnt purchase them not just at the store but at any metro store. Funny thing was the same ignorant lady arguing that with me was the one who had sold me both phones same day. I have patiently dealt with all this crap and now all i am asking for is to pay my bill and hell cant even do that. I understand there hours or call reps may be short due to the virus shut down of everything but just as they as a company felt no reason to help a 4 year customer for liency for just 3 days when i was quaratined at home awaiting my corona virus test results and truly needed phone service for contact with my kids being i couldnt be around them, why should I be expected to once again be without my phone service because someone somewhere in that tangled web of genius's has caused not one but two numbers on my account to not be recognized leaving me no way to pay my bill. Why should I be expected to understand that they have absolutly no way online or by phone or app to contact anyone to just fix my bill so i can pay it. Just as they expected me to do without a phone while i was being quaratined and allowed no exceptions regardless and expected me to figure it out. I expect them as a company to uphold their word and customer service help even in their state of emergency especially when their online portals are denying that my numbers even exist. Regardless of what is going on since their expectations of their customers are still expected then they should expect no less than for their customers to expect them to make sure they have a way for things like this to be handled. So that being said those of you who have had good experiences with metro good for you. As for the rest of us I have sent proof of all that i have said to the news station since i cant get ahold of them maybe they can.

I want to ask for your help.
I have an old 10 inch tablet that I use as an ebook.
However, for a few days, the tablet cannot boot and only the Android logo appears and can only be turned off with the reset button.
I tried to enter recovery mode to get back to factory settings, but failed. I probably don't press the right combination of buttons.
I will ask for your help, guide me on how to do this to save a tablet that is incredibly convenient for me.

The tablet is model RK30SDK and is running Android 4.1.1

What are you doing with it? Where are you using it? It is impossible to even guess without information. Heck we don't even know whether it's a Exynos or Snapdragon model.

Things that generate heat:

* charging
* heavy CPU use
* large data transfers (mobile data more than WiFi, and I'm sure 5G more than other forms)
* the display, with higher brightness = more heat (using outdoors on a bright day with auto brightness will be the worst case).

If you are doing more than one of those things at the same time they add up.

If you are not doing those things, look in the settings to see what is using power - that should give some clue.

Well basically you don't. Because if you do pull it out, you remove the storage that those apps are installed on and are using, and non of those apps will work.

If you do set removable storage for internal use, to expand app storage, it's formatted and encrypted as EXT4, which can't be used and read by anything else, except the device that created it.

according to gsmarena.com Razer Phone 2 the phone is upgrade-able to android 9, Pie.

it might depend on your carrier as well. you can check for updates somewhere in your phone's settings. it should be somewhere around the "about phone" options toward the bottom of your settings list. if there is no update, then there you go.

Suggest you try Photorec. https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec It is completely free, and I've successfully used it to recover deleted pictures and videos.

I don't use Windows myself, I'm Mac and Linux, but doesn't Windows completely delete the originals when you do a Move rather than Copy in its File Manager?

I have this issue with my pixel 3. The screen will go dark, just black out. The phone will be fully charged working great and then poof dark screen, unresponsive phone, sometimes the issue last a few minutes the longest to date was 2.5 hours, fortunately I have a spare phone.

I have two firesticks (2nd gen and a 4K) with both using a OTG power Y cable.

I can access the USB thumbdrive on both and access the files.

But I can not find a way to safely eject or unmount the thumbdrive.

If I unplug the drive I get an error message saying to go to my firetv/settings/storage and select USB to eject.
But there is no USB listed in any settings menu

If I plug the thumbdrive into the computer I get an error and it scans and fixes it.

How can I safely remove the USB drive from the firestick?

What does that mean? If an update is available you can download and install it (Settings > General > About Device > Software updates on my old Samsung. If that doesn't work but the update exists you can download and install using a computer. But where does "forcing" come into it?

If you're a novice, try F-Droid and Github. F-Droid is very trustworthy, but at other sites like AC, Github and others - you can get the SHAFT of BRICKDOM if you aren't careful... especially in apps like Discord, or any virtual box app for PCs.

I would get trusted .apk files, and prior to root in a Samsung, for example, I used Odin to get files in; prior to getting TWRP to replace my phone's bootloader, that is... and brother, I bricked phones many times. Many times. But...

Chat up MoodyBlues, @ocnbrze or Revenant Ghost - as most of us are great traffic cops - and you will see that wherever we tell you to go and get good files... you will be safe (if you follow directions EXACTLY). Rave on with your Android, & be careful out there with Bat Corona -
