Can you please clarify what the device are you using?

Android has, unfortunately, been "late to the party" with a lot of vehicle implementations. For example, the Toyota RAV4, the single best selling vehicle in the U.S. didn't adopt Android Auto until the 2020 model year. I would guess you are struggling with outdated technology in your vehicles.

As far as the permission thing goes, it sounds like you are connecting the device as storage and not a media player every time you plug it in. That's why it asks for permission and has to refresh the media lists. What app are you using to playback media?

How are you transferring your music files to your S20 Plus? Things like embedded artwork and text are directly tied to each file's metadata (file format type isn't the issue to focus on). Every time you're transferring files between your phone and your computer, you may only see the sanitized GUI actions but in the background there's an involved compatibility issue as different operating systems rely upon different file systems to store their files/folders -- your phone uses ext4 as its file system, a microSD card will default to either Microsoft's FAT32 or exFAT, and you WinPC will most likely be using NTFS. All three store metadata differently (with FAT32/exFAT being the most deficient) so depending on just how you did the file transfers and just which media player apps you're using, along with if your audio files are being stored on the internal storage or microSD card, all those variables will be a factor in how the metadata is or isn't retained.

ok after i went into the tablet and deleted or disabled everything i have listed above i see some notices yet.

i have a few apps setting in the square touch box that if i touch what opens is the last used apps. so do i have to swipe them away so they do not show notices?

I'm afraid that some parts of your post are not clear to me. However if you had formatted it as internal storage no other device would be able to read it at all (other than via the phone, i.e. connect the phone to the computer via USB and view files that way). So I'm pretty sure you didn't do that. For the same reason I don't think it's encrypted, because again if you had done that the computer wouldn't have been able to read it (formatting as internal both formats as ext4 and encrypts the card, but you can also encrypt without formatting as internal, so I'm treating these as separate things even though the practical effects are the same: in neither case would your PC have been able to read it).

microSD cards are finnicky little things, and you sometimes do have problems where a card works fine in the device that formatted it but not properly in another. I suspect it's something along those lines you are dealing with here rather than any feature of the phone. It might also be an indication of a poor quality card, but frankly I've had cards from top brands (such as Samsung) fail after a short period so I'm not so sure that's a useful distinction. I would never have huge faith in any microSD card, to be honest.

I would forget your points (D) and (E): if you had encrypted it this would not have violated any laws, and if you had formatted it as internal you could always format it as portable again, so neither applies.

(I might add that replacing smartphones every 1-3 years, as many people do, is a far greater ecological offence than having to replace a microSD card on a similar timescale would be. Our disposable consumer society, based on the "externalisation" of costs (i.e. dumping the costs of your activities on someone else, including the environment) has a lot to answer for, but even if your theory about the microSD card were true, which it isn't, you would be focussing on the mote and missing a lot of planks).

The problem is, what if there is corrosion damage somewhere where you can't see it, e.g. inside the display panel rather than on the connector, inside some other component, or in some small contact on a chip on the mainboard (which may be under the chip)? A washing machine will be a pretty hostile environment (hot, very impure water for an extended period), so I'd not rule anything out. What I'm saying is that even if it's a long shot you might want to try the drying anyway, because at least that's cheap. The risk with buying a new display is that if there's a problem on the mainboard it will have been a waste of money.

The problem is how to test whether it is just the display? Maybe try booting the phone and then calling it or something, to see whether it will respond at all (i.e. whether the display is the only problem)? Unfortunately the S6 series had no MHL or USB to HDMI support, so there's no simple way to mirror the display to a TV, which would be an easy way of confirming whether the rest was working (Chromecasts are useless for this because you need to set it up, which you can't do with a blank screen - wired mirroring is just much, much more useful for diagnostics or data rescue with a dead screen, but not something Samsung regarded as a priority).

Thank you so much. This is kind of comment I was looking for. Super detailed for me and gave me better idea of what else I can do. Like I mentioned I just start out with phones, so far have only done 3 projects such as lumia 640 and lumia 640 xl + samsung galaxy tab a 10.1'
For me it's just better than panicking during these uncertain times so I thought might as well aquire a new skill of some sort.
I will try to do my best and continue with this phone no matter what it takes and how long. Just super curious about whether it is fixable or not

well, duh!!! turns out I did record the MIN #. so I have all the data need to put it back in service.

I literally have thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos on three devices- all using this app.

I think it is safe to assume that such complaints are due to user error.

Not to mention that none of my devices are exceptional.

So, if it works just fine for a $40 2GB device, what would be the problem on a better phone?

On my crappiest device, a Poblano VLE5 1GB device, there is an issue when I move files from the device to the SD card- they appear, but show 0b of memory, cannot be shared, or done anything with.

The solution is to restart the phone.
Because this is such a low caliber device, a restart only takes 1 minute.

Suddenly, all photos and videos appear with full memory and capabilities.

So this is obviously a device issue, not an issue with the app.
This does not happen with the other two devices.

Why not just try it?

It's not like a gallery app will just magically delete all your media.

Man, WMP de-syncs from Android at will; Windows, historically, has never gotten along with Android. My cure? Run Tails OS. Or, be brave and run Oracle Virtualbox with Github wares. When I had to deal with this, I had to go back in the drive in Settings and reload Windows from the most recent backup, and it would sync again.

I got fed up with Windows. Now, my phones and computers use Spotify. It's a helluva lot more convenient, and you only have to "keep what you need" for offline playing, etc.

As a recording musician, I've used Cakewalk with Winblows to record and master tracks. But listening to the masters in Windows is a huge letdown, not to mention latency in the audio while tracking.

I hope this helps you, instead of coming across like opinions... best of luck.

I don't see how rooting will help. Your phone doesn't have access to their inbox except via WhatsApp's servers, and rooting your phone won't give you privileged access to them.

WhatsApp have a time limit for deletion which is quite short (WhatsApp themselves say "about an hour"). So when you are dealing with messages from years ago you are a long way outside that range. I don't know whether WhatsApp even keep the links they'd need to identity and delete a message delivered 2-3 years ago, and if they have those records they will have the timestamps that tell them when they were delivered, so I can't see how messing with the clock on your phone would change that.

In short, I'm sure you are wasting your time here.

Did you purchase the phone from the carrier, or is it unlocked? Do you use a VPN?

I am very new to android programming but I want to read a json file using async task, which seemed to work properly when I used a json file that was on a website (using http connection), but now I would like to do the same thing with my own json file. I have an assets folder called 'assets' where I've put my jsonFile.json.

I tried to open it using getAssets().open(), but that doesn't seem to work. Also my listFragment class (from which the loadJson is called, does not contain a context, so I can't parse the context from listFragment onto loadJson.

Is there anyone who knows how to help?

Those of you who have a good experience with metro congrats. Not exactly sure how you received special attention.. I have been a metro customer for 4 years. I have also paid for the extra hand set protection. I am a single mother of 4 and have unexpected bills that pop up on the time which is also why i chose prepaid service . I do not know why they even offer insurance because no matter how they soup it up to you and make it sound it is shit. There is no point in paying the extra money i did especially for my sons phone. When he ran his phone over i tried to call and see what i had to do to get his phone replaced the deductable was more than a new phone is for one and then i bought a unlocked phone from a individual and they refused to allow me to activate it because it wasnt a metro phone. So i bought another phone and after atleast 20 calls to.customer service and them telling me the number had been switched well that was over 5 months ago in which i have paid the bill every month still cant use the phone. It clearly.shows the number has been switched to the phone i currently have but for some reason not one person at metro can understand clear english. But then i waa put out of work due to corona virus i called and ask for them to please allow me 3 days until i received my check to pay. After 12 different reps I got a guy who when i ask him if he could just assist me in unlocking my device so i could take my phone else where he agreed to give me the 3 days i needed and also assured me my device was unlocked. As aggravated as i was i still politely thanked him and expressed my appreciation that he helped me. But low and behold the next morning my service was off and so i said forget this crap im going else where. Ha funny whatta know my device is still locked. So today i tried to go pay my bill although i seriously hate metro these days i cant afford to purchase a new phone at the moment and cant take it elsewhere because there reps dont even have enough sense to simply unlock a device. So i really didnt have a choice except to stay with metro at the moment but when i went to pay my bill my phone number is no longer recognized. I cant call customer service because when it ask for my number it immediatwly says cant find that and to make sure im entering the number i tried both numbers on my account and got the same mesaage. They no longer offer chat. It says they cant connect you at this time. Store hours are only 6am to 11. And further more than that i purchased both devices at the morganton store but when i went there about the whole insurance thing she told me i didnt purchase them not just at the store but at any metro store. Funny thing was the same ignorant lady arguing that with me was the one who had sold me both phones same day. I have patiently dealt with all this crap and now all i am asking for is to pay my bill and hell cant even do that. I understand there hours or call reps may be short due to the virus shut down of everything but just as they as a company felt no reason to help a 4 year customer for liency for just 3 days when i was quaratined at home awaiting my corona virus test results and truly needed phone service for contact with my kids being i couldnt be around them, why should I be expected to once again be without my phone service because someone somewhere in that tangled web of genius's has caused not one but two numbers on my account to not be recognized leaving me no way to pay my bill. Why should I be expected to understand that they have absolutly no way online or by phone or app to contact anyone to just fix my bill so i can pay it. Just as they expected me to do without a phone while i was being quaratined and allowed no exceptions regardless and expected me to figure it out. I expect them as a company to uphold their word and customer service help even in their state of emergency especially when their online portals are denying that my numbers even exist. Regardless of what is going on since their expectations of their customers are still expected then they should expect no less than for their customers to expect them to make sure they have a way for things like this to be handled. So that being said those of you who have had good experiences with metro good for you. As for the rest of us I have sent proof of all that i have said to the news station since i cant get ahold of them maybe they can.

I want to ask for your help.
I have an old 10 inch tablet that I use as an ebook.
However, for a few days, the tablet cannot boot and only the Android logo appears and can only be turned off with the reset button.
I tried to enter recovery mode to get back to factory settings, but failed. I probably don't press the right combination of buttons.
I will ask for your help, guide me on how to do this to save a tablet that is incredibly convenient for me.

The tablet is model RK30SDK and is running Android 4.1.1

What are you doing with it? Where are you using it? It is impossible to even guess without information. Heck we don't even know whether it's a Exynos or Snapdragon model.

Things that generate heat:

* charging
* heavy CPU use
* large data transfers (mobile data more than WiFi, and I'm sure 5G more than other forms)
* the display, with higher brightness = more heat (using outdoors on a bright day with auto brightness will be the worst case).

If you are doing more than one of those things at the same time they add up.

If you are not doing those things, look in the settings to see what is using power - that should give some clue.
