See if your friend can narrow it it down just a little bit and then do a search in the play store or another repository site. The search result icons might help.

Tap the flouting icon on the right side, if that's what your referencing to as "rocket booster". If it opens up (launches) an app then go to recent app panel and press and hold the left corner icon. This should put you into the specific app info settings page of your phone. You can then force stop clear data and even choose to uninstall.

I apologize if this question has been answered already. (couldn't find it on the Forum)

While I can set up customized ringtones for specific contacts I cannot set up customized message notifications for specific contacts without it changing my Gmail notifications. Or if I try and set a customized notification for for all GMail, it will then change the notification sound for all messages.

I have also changed message applications from Messages to Verizon messages + with the same outcome.

In the past when I received a text message from my loved one (I had a specific notification sound) I knew to read it right away just as when they called their customized ringtone gave me a heads up.

I could tell you all the ways I have tried to make Gmail sound notifications different from messages and making customized notification sounds for specific contacts and not have it effect GMail, but I don't want to bore you.

Thus my question is: Has this capability died? If so, then I will not wrack my brain anymore.

Just want to repeat what @Fox Mulder wrote -- that swollen battery is a not a good situation and you definitely should not ignore that as a potentially dangerous problem. Remove that battery now and take it to a place that recycles old batteries.

As for that phone itself, a S5 Mini is pretty dated and whatever version of Android it's currently running will also be quite dated and no longer receiving any updates. A lot of its apps will also be dated and no longer supported . This creates a situation where have old hardware and old software so you need be even more careful than usual whenever you're doing anything involving online access. Just keep in mind there a security and privacy issues involved when you use an out-of-date device like this.

I know this is late and all however better late than never right? Anyways I have the S10 and I have the GO SMS Pro text app installed. When you are in the app and tap on a conversation with someone. - At the top right is the person icon you would tap on that, and than "Notification" and within there is a section for "Ringtone". I just changed mine and changed it for someone else. Hopefully that helps you out.
