I'm glad you found a workaround, but it probably wasn't necessary. I've never heard of having to downgrade my Linux version in order to download a file!

The most likely problem is that you didn't have space available, and then when you downgraded, you did. Just for future reference should something similar happen, check the partition/location you're going to download to, and make sure it has enough room before starting.

By the way, I'm a die-hard Kubuntu-only user! Currently on version 19.10, started with 5.04.

I unlocked my screen, but I can't answer a call. I hit the button and swipe, but it stays locked. This is f---ing ridiculous. Thanks for reading.

Now, text-to-speech is working for Google searches on my Moto G5 Plus homepage and in messaging. However, I have not been able to get the "Dictation" feature to work for WhatsApp chat messages. This is so even though:

• Under Gboard, I have Voice Typing on.
• When I start a message, I tap to bring up the keyboard and then tap on the microphone icon on the keyboard (not the one next to the message box, which is for voice messages). The keyboard icon turns acqua and pulses. I speak, but no text shows up in the message box.

What else do I need to do to make this work properly?

Odin gives me this error when im trying to flash my J7 2016 back to stock firmware

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 J710MNUBS4CSL1 android version 8.1.0. So basically, i wanted to root my phone, I used CF auto and then i used odin and tried installing root flashes. after numerous tries and me checking SUPERSU to see if it worked it didnt. SO I gave up and i turned OEM unlocking back off and then i tried using samsung private browsing and it said it cant work beacuase my phone is rooted (after thinking it didnt work) i went to check to see on SUPERSU if it worked and it still said no. So i rebooted the phone but now I cant boot in since the OEM lock is on. I tried Numerous stock Flashes of J710MNJDI4CRK1 and Odin failed them most of the time saying Complete(Write) operation failed. or MD5 hash value is invalid If someone could tell me what to do or give me a link to a proper stock flash it would be appreciated

I'm looking for one or two apps that can do the following:

First:
Go through my Call Log.
(Allow me to specify a date range or other filter)
Ignore items without names or "Unknown" or "Blocked"
For each item, check if a contact exists in ANY of my address books.
If not, create (need to ask me to which account).
For contacts that exist, check if the numbers are the same; if not, offer to add / replace the existing values.
Maybe allow a degree of "fuzzy" search (e.g., ask me if "The Container Store" = "CONTAINER STORE")

Second (related):
Go through my Contacts. Again, ignore Unknown/Blocked
For any Call records that have a name (maybe just for Company name?):
Look up fields (phone, address, email, web site) (maybe via Google Maps API?);
If the contact exists, offer to alter; else offer to Add (need to ask me to which account if I have multiple)
If the field is missing, add it.
If the field differs, prompt me whether to (a) add (e.g., second phone #) (b) replace (have to ask which if more than one) (c) not change.

These could be on-event (e.g., after a call) or on-demand (when-run).

I agree. 5000 mah batteries are handy but not necessary for most people's daily use.

The G8 Plus has a 4000 mah battery, which is more than good enough imv. My Nokia 7 Plus has a 3800 mah and battery life is stellar with the now ancient but great performing Qualcomm SD660. The SD665 should be more efficient still but that may depend on a lot of things. I'm not going back to my previous 3000 mah battery size unless I have to, but I would expect better efficiency anyway, especially if I had to get a cheaper model with a 720p display.

To set up your Galaxy S20 Ultra voicemail, follow these steps:

1. Open the "Phone" app
2. Tap the 3 dots on the top right
3. Tap "Settings"
4. Tap "Voicemail"
5. Tap "Voicemail Settings"
6. Take note of the green number below "Voicemail number"
7. Go back to the dialer and enter the number from Step 6 (including the *)
8. Press the green phone button

This will call your mobile carrier's automated voicemail setup so that you can setup the Voicemail on your Galaxy S20 Ultra. These steps may be different depending on your carrier so please let us know in the comments!

Ahh, sorry about that. Yea, even though there is a 'manage labels' option ion app, all it lets you do is sync them or not. Seems to stupid to not be able to hide them! You can leave feedback in the gmail app and let them know you want that ability. If enough people leave feedback in app Google will make changes. It really is the best way to influence them (if it's possible).

To clear the cache on your Galaxy S20 Ultra for a specific app:

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Apps
3. Select "All" from upper left
4. Select the app on which you'd like to Clear Cache
5. Tap "Storage"
6. Tap "Clear Cache" at the bottom right of the screen

Some apps may have this greyed out which means you cannot clear the cache. You'll also see an option (at the bottom left) for "Clear data- be careful with this option as it will delete all of the application's data permanently. This includes all files, settings, accounts, databases, etc...)

If you cannot find the app in your Apps list tap the 3 dots on the top right of the Apps List and select "Show system apps".

This is how you show battery percentage on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra:

• Open Settings
• Tap "Notifications"
• Tap "Status Bar"
• Toggle on "Show battery percentage

You'll now have the exact battery percentage showing at the top right of your notification panel at all times!

Short of finding an app that tracks the activity of all Android apps and processes, I decided to start disabling things one by one. Checking after each "Force Stop" to see if the compass started working.

It is looking like it may have been caused by a live background app called "BETTA" (a cool animated Beta Fish for your Home Page). Turning off the live background immediately allowed the sensor to start working again. It has been working steadily since yesterday!

Not a CLUE as to why the live background would interfere with the compass. Probably the darn ads in the background. I am testing the same app on my Galaxy S8, but it doesn't seem to affect this phone. Something about the S20 and this app appears to interfere.

I don;t think its the live wallpaper function itself either. As I have another one loaded to test functionality, and all is working fine. Seems to be this app called "BETTA" specifically.

Hope it keeps working!! I will update accordingly with what I find if anything changes.

So glad you tracked down the culprit! Weird a wallpaper app does that, maybe some conflict or just bad code touching the gyro or location. Usually (good) developers will be super fast to help. With a little luck they will get a bug report or something from you and update the app. I'm sure they would want the S20 line as a userbase! You did them a favor!

yeah does not work for me either. there is a direct link to the xda page where you can download the apk, if you want to try it that way.

On any phone I've owned the answer is no: when you leave the in call user interface, either by ending the call or by trying to switch to another app, you are presented with the lock screen.

BUT I can't guarantee that your phone behaves correctly. I'd have thought that the simplest way to be sure is just to test it empirically: call your phone, answer without unlocking, and then see for yourself.

I have been in gallery settings any which way I could, but nowhere I can find any settings involving editing. Interestingly, I decided to try editing a photo in my tablet (tab s4, still on pie) and as soon as I clicked the pencil icon, it asked me to allow photo editor. Yet, photo editor is nowhere to be found in the system, so I must assume that it is integrated deeply in gallery app. Another interesting thing is that I have no problem editing video. I would even try to reinstall gallery if I knew where to find it.

The answer to enable photo editor was given to me on the community.samsung forum just now. I f anyone suffer with the same issue, the answer is the following:
Open Settings
Click Apps
From the 3 dot menu select "Show system apps"
Search for Photo Editor
After clicking on the Photo Editor entry, click on Permissions.
Ensure that "Storage" is allowed.
