You can assign a ringtone to GV, it has to be a contact. If you have it set to show as a GV call it'll use the ringtone. This, of course, doesn't help at all since you won't be able to see who is really calling - just that they dialed your GV number.
I'm guessing it's hard to make the phone recognize it's GV and then go to contracts again to match it up, it's one or the other I'd think.
I love GV but that is something that does bug me...

well if it is just the qmobile inifinity then you might be SOL.

let this be a lesson learned. one of the most important tool a rooted phone should have is a custom recovery. once you have a recovery, the very first thing you need to do is make a nandroid backup. this a a complete backup of your phone. this is needed in cases like yours where if something goes wrong, you can just go back and restore a backup. there are other things you can do with recovery, but this is the most important.

also some other things to think about if when it comes to rooting:
1. for me having a developer community that supports your phone is a must. developer's are the ones who come up with ways to root your phone. they are the ones who develop custom roms and custom recoveries.

just remember no devs=no fun

2. check if there is custom roms for your device. custom roms are cool. developers take out all of the unnecessary bloatware. they usually optimize their roms to run a lot smoother.

3. if i want to get a device and i want to root it, i usually do my research first over at xda developers forum if they have a section for your phone, that is a good sign. if they do not have a forum for your device....that usually means there is no dev community.

and like i said no devs=no fun.

4. and the very last thing is to do your research and plan for everything. look for guides to help you root. and once you found a guide that works for you then read, read, read, and then read some more.

i really wish i can help you out, but you picked a phone where is not much information out there. maybe see if you can get in touch with your provider and see if they can dig up a firmware you can use. if they do have one, keep in mind that it might unroot the phone.

I am attempting to move from Verizon to Visible (a Verizon subsidiary). My IMEI did not check as compatible with Visible and this is what the level three rep replied with:

Given this model is being sold and marketed with an included stylus pen and you're stating, "...when it's clearly not" if you bought one and there was no stylus pen that would indicate something got screwed up when the unit was being packaged. A stylus pen is legally owed to you and you don't have to go out and buy one of your own.
If you haven't bought one yet, how are you able to determine that there is no U.K. dealer selling this model without one?

Edit: If customer support wasn't able to provide you with a stylus pen after your purchased this tablet, don't waste your time and ask to speak to a manager.

Well ever since I figured it was Slacker Radio causing the troublesome and disable it, I have no problems what so ever right now. I just went into the App Drawer and figured it out, right now it is pretty great though, tested it with variation with different apps .

I'm glad you found a workaround, but it probably wasn't necessary. I've never heard of having to downgrade my Linux version in order to download a file!

The most likely problem is that you didn't have space available, and then when you downgraded, you did. Just for future reference should something similar happen, check the partition/location you're going to download to, and make sure it has enough room before starting.

By the way, I'm a die-hard Kubuntu-only user! Currently on version 19.10, started with 5.04.

Now, text-to-speech is working for Google searches on my Moto G5 Plus homepage and in messaging. However, I have not been able to get the "Dictation" feature to work for WhatsApp chat messages. This is so even though:

• Under Gboard, I have Voice Typing on.
• When I start a message, I tap to bring up the keyboard and then tap on the microphone icon on the keyboard (not the one next to the message box, which is for voice messages). The keyboard icon turns acqua and pulses. I speak, but no text shows up in the message box.

What else do I need to do to make this work properly?

Odin gives me this error when im trying to flash my J7 2016 back to stock firmware

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 J710MNUBS4CSL1 android version 8.1.0. So basically, i wanted to root my phone, I used CF auto and then i used odin and tried installing root flashes. after numerous tries and me checking SUPERSU to see if it worked it didnt. SO I gave up and i turned OEM unlocking back off and then i tried using samsung private browsing and it said it cant work beacuase my phone is rooted (after thinking it didnt work) i went to check to see on SUPERSU if it worked and it still said no. So i rebooted the phone but now I cant boot in since the OEM lock is on. I tried Numerous stock Flashes of J710MNJDI4CRK1 and Odin failed them most of the time saying Complete(Write) operation failed. or MD5 hash value is invalid If someone could tell me what to do or give me a link to a proper stock flash it would be appreciated

First:
Go through my Call Log.
(Allow me to specify a date range or other filter)
Ignore items without names or "Unknown" or "Blocked"
For each item, check if a contact exists in ANY of my address books.
If not, create (need to ask me to which account).
For contacts that exist, check if the numbers are the same; if not, offer to add / replace the existing values.
Maybe allow a degree of "fuzzy" search (e.g., ask me if "The Container Store" = "CONTAINER STORE")

Second (related):
Go through my Contacts. Again, ignore Unknown/Blocked
For any Call records that have a name (maybe just for Company name?):
Look up fields (phone, address, email, web site) (maybe via Google Maps API?);
If the contact exists, offer to alter; else offer to Add (need to ask me to which account if I have multiple)
If the field is missing, add it.
If the field differs, prompt me whether to (a) add (e.g., second phone #) (b) replace (have to ask which if more than one) (c) not change.

These could be on-event (e.g., after a call) or on-demand (when-run).

I agree. 5000 mah batteries are handy but not necessary for most people's daily use.

The G8 Plus has a 4000 mah battery, which is more than good enough imv. My Nokia 7 Plus has a 3800 mah and battery life is stellar with the now ancient but great performing Qualcomm SD660. The SD665 should be more efficient still but that may depend on a lot of things. I'm not going back to my previous 3000 mah battery size unless I have to, but I would expect better efficiency anyway, especially if I had to get a cheaper model with a 720p display.
