need help with andriod studio project

Welcome to Android Forums, StudentAndroidSG!

You're most likely to get help with your problem by posting on our Android Development board, where your fellow app developers hang out.

When you post, please be as specific as possible. For example, include which version of Android Studio you're using, what OS you're running it on (Linux, OSX, etc.), and a very detailed description of the problem. The more info you can provide, the better!

Silence Notifications over Blutooth

How do I silence all notifications over bluetooth? It's annoying bumping your car stereo only to be startled by a text, email, or social media notification. Now before you start and tell me that I don't get notifications because I don't have any friends :D. Or that all I need to do is put it on vibrate:rolleyes:, I am pretty sure that this should be an option is this wonderful OS. I would like to have it done automatically once the bluetooth connects to the head unit.

Any suggestions?

well if you can download samsung dex to your computer, you can make and receive text messages on your computer. not sure on phone calls. i believe you can receive them but you will have to answer them via the phone. i found this: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/...and-or-answer-calls-whilst-using-samsung-dex/ so it looks like you can even make calls on dex, but i think you need to talk to the person via the phone. maybe get a bluetooth headset might work.

Perform a click in a menu item clicking by ImageView

I have a tabbed screen with a Bottom Navigation Bar which have three menu items: Home. DashBoard and Configuration.

In the first tab (home), I have an ImageView, inside a Listview header, with user's photo.

I need to perform the click of the Configuration menu item when the user perform a click in the ImageView with his/her photo.

Pay attention in the image. In up side, the ImageView with photo and in the bottom the menu Item in the Configuration Menu Item.

I can't get call the screen configuration by Intent because the Configuration screen is not an Activity. It is a fragment.

Android Studio Upgrade Causing Headaches

Learned Java last year to make games and installed Android Studio (I believe, version 2). Just upgraded to 3.6 a couple days ago and it's been nothing but headaches trying to build and run my apps. Kept getting gradle errors about deprecated this and that, inability to find this or that, etc.

I've been googling each specific error and trying to figure out just WHERE I'm to make the suggested changes. I get a little further each time but now I have no idea what to do next.

I'm getting errors about Gradle having deprecated features that are not compatible with version 7. I'm not really sure about what Gradle does besides it being needed to build your apps.

With the attached, I THINK that I was able to capture one of the issues. But I have no idea WHERE to go to make this fix. What file is it in? Where is the file?

I didn't expect upgrading to cause this many issues (they all seem to relate to Gradle) but I'll never upgrade this thing again unless it's absolutely necessary.

Apps accessing gallery, pics out of order

I think it is a problem with the micro SD card and not with the app. It is not just the one app either. It is any app on my phone that accesses the gallery. Is there a way to defrag or streamline the info on the micro SD card?.

You're approaching this problem from the wrong angle. It's most definitely an app issue. Check in that OfferUp app's settings to change now it displays your photos. Or whatever app you're using. This has nothing do with where your photo files reside, it's all about the photo managing app you're using to view your photos. The photo files are completely inert while in your internal storage or microSD card, they don't move around, they don't change how they're arranged. Once they get written to whatever storage media, they just 'sit' there as is. It's the app you're using is that detects those inert photo files and displays them accordingly -- it might be sorted by date, or by name, or whatever category specified. Some apps are more limited in their feature sets, some are more expansive so it's all dependent on the app you're using. Again, look in the settings menu of the app you're using.

Huwaei P Smart, my headphones won't work on my phone.

My headphones use to work on my phone, but recently it won't work on my phone. I done few checks, first I checked if my headphone jack is working by plugging in other headphones and it works fine. So headphone jack works. Then I tried my headphones on other phones and the headphones works fine. So what is the problem?, it's so weird I don't know what to think.
Since you've already verified that both the jack and headphones work--but not together!--I'm really not sure what else to suggest. Is there a reason you can't simply switch to headphones that work with it?

Help Video file showing at top of Gallery app

I have video files showing up at the top of the gallery with a date 6th Feb 6, 2036
Do you recognize these videos? When you play them, are they videos that you downloaded or otherwise saved?

As for how/why they're displaying at the top of your gallery, that's due to its settings. However you've set your gallery app to sort files is how it will sort files.

Please tell us the name of your gallery app--linking to its Play Store page would be helpful--and post a screenshot of the videos listed in your gallery, so we can -see- how they're named.

If you need help with any of that, just let us know!

Notification dot?

Welcome to Android Forums, Kelly Tolbert!
Where is this dot located if it is turned on?
I've never seen them myself, because of how I've configured my launcher. But they should appear on an app's icon. So, I -think- that means icons on your home screens and maybe(?) in your app drawer. They're a little bubble, and can contain the number of notifications you have waiting for each app.

Hopefully, someone who uses them will post a screenshot--and correct anything I've misstated! :D
