Weird issues with Note 10+

Ok, so just got the new router delivered. Just hooked it up. The new router was able to use all the same ssid and keys. I turned off the wifi on my modem router combo. So far, all the issues I've had went away. I can now download apps, see facebook posts and use my ring app to view live video. Dont know why this phone just wasn't compatible with our old router but worked just fine for my wife's phone.

Needing help with getting wife a new phone :)

I'll cast a vote for the Galaxy Note as well. A lot of people (like me) love the Note line because of the S Pen. While the extra functionality of the S Pen is great, my fingers just don't like to hit their intended target. Using the S Pen allows me to type, tap, draw, mark, etc with surgical precision. I was a huge fan of the Note 8... but the Note 9 made me forget all about it. I have my Note 9 on ebay right now... please PM me for the link, as I'm not here to sell a phone.

How do I stop instant apps from downloading?

I know this is an older topic, but our friend @MrJavi brought this up to my attention today(that I don't know why)..so since I'm kind of perfectionist personality wise..I don't like to leave things unfixed..so here it is..

Ok, so here is the solution I came up with to this annoying app to appears out off the nothingness and nests inside your partition(I compared that situation going on in there like if you have an unwelcome friend living in my house that run out of her welcomes about a year ago or so..(which she is the Google play store)..then out of the blue she brings her latest squiced(this would be the Google instant apps) to live with her too..in my house..that's a very very very messed up situation..

So any way..straight to business, so all you have to do is go to app manager, then to to Google play store, data usage, then check the Restriction Background Data box..this will prevent from the infamous Google play store to generate to origins of the Google instant apps..

So the culprit really is the Google play store..so with that being done..the instant app won't hatch ever again in your phone unless you uncheck that box..the minute you do it..WATCH!!

Now, if you are rooted, and you use an internet guard app..you can also make a prevention inside there from the Google play store to acquire data internet too..like a double layer..that's how I have it..just in case the indign quite app goes through the first layer..

I also uninstalled the Google play store updates while I'm checking that box I'm taking about..but you have to do all this quickly..because that sneaky will do her act very swift right before your eyes..and before you know it she would already generate the instant apps + her own updated in a matter of a little tinny moment..

Here's from me to you all..

Help Dialer Storage??

Well go into you app manager (I think that's what Samsung still call what is "Settings > Apps" on every other android device), find this app and look at its storage usage. That will tell you how much is the app's data and how much is the app itself. It's quite possible that it's almost all the app, in which case apart from uninstalling updates (assuming you don't allow apps to update automatically and can ignore the constant reminder that there is an update to this one) or disabling the app there's nothing much you can do about it.

Help rooting

It unlockes lost of performance capability that's blocked by manufactures I tried 1 click root and I'm not wanting to waste 30$ if it don't work or if I can have it done cheeper online

Im have never used Oneclickroot. The preferred method is to install a custom recovery like TWRP and flash Chainfile SuperSu or Magisk. Its important to have an unlocked bootloader. Also follow steps to open "developer Options and enable USB setting to connect to a pc. Go to about pone and tap buildnumber 5 to 7 times. Theme go back and look for a new "developer options" settings. Be aware of FRP lock as you will need to know you Google pasword. If you forget it you'll be permanently lock out of your device .

NOT enought Memory Samsung J7 2020

You can get cheap MicroSD cards from Amazon for super cheap. Cards from reliable companies like San Disk are only like $20 for a 128GB Micro SD card: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-512GB-MicroSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B07SC7BZHR

Those are Ultra cards. The "Extreme":
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B07P9W5HJV

And "Extreme Plus":
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-128GB-microSDXC-UHS-I/dp/B06XYSVX64

Are more expensive but also transfer data much faster. In all honesty, I'm not sure how big the difference is in quality/speed and if you definitively should get a certain type for specific phones. I splurged on an expensive card thinking I'd use it for years and years (and i've been correct).

I made the mistake of buying lower priced SD cards- twice.

PCNY didn't work at all in the device I had at the time.
I took it back and paid twice as much for a Sans Disk that (still) works great.
Lexar was supposedly good, I had heard.
Both Lexar cards I bought crashed, with complete data loss, one after only one month.
So I bought more Sans Disk to replace them, and they work great.

I won't even look at other brand SD cards anymore.

Can't download apps and can't view facebook comments over wifi

So I dont know what changed, but today I can view facebook comments and download apps over wifi. But when I'm downloading an app, it does stay at 'waiting for download' for a minute or so. Over 4g, it instantly starts. But its working better today.

There are a ton of downloading issues with Google lately.

Juzt look at the reviees that people are posting, and the amount of people ha ing the issue that are posting about it online.

The solution seems to be to update Google Play Store, update Google Play Services, and then go into the app settings snd cldar the data for both of them.

Then wsit 5-10 minutes and open the Play Store.

Be sure to reset your preferences first thing.

After Google downloads some thing of its own (it may or may not), try downloading your stuff again.

Windows app for exploring android devices on pc

I'm a little confused. There are 2 lines in your post where you seem to be asking for help with Windows:

So which is it?

For Windows, as others have said your Windows Explorer itself will do what you want.

For Linux, well actually I prefer terminal interfaces so I may not be able to help. But have you not tried your default graphical file browser? Which app that is will depend on which distribution you are using, but they virtually all come with one.

Thanks for all your replies to my post.
It's has helped clear up alot of my blank knowledge and the anxieties my autism generates.

I won't need any more input for this.
Thank you all

Notification icon? Dating app?

It looks like someone asked about this exact same icon last year:
https://androidforums.com/threads/what-app-is-the-girl-notification.1305159/

Here is an example of a "heart on a piece of paper" icon that LOOKS like a dating app but it's actually a Samsung notification for a SIM card: https://androidforums.com/threads/what-app-uses-this-heart-shaped-icon.1232867/

It's easy to confuse a random notification for a dating app notification since "hearts" are used to represent so many different things (liking someone's post on a social network, fitness and heart rate, and random things like Samsung's weird use in this case.)

I can't identify this specific icon but as others have said this DEFINITELY looks like a fitness app. Or maybe it's a girl running away from someone. And maybe that girl is you?

In all honesty if you see this notification and the first thing you think of is infidelity and cheating than I think you need to have a serious heart-to-heart with your significant other, regardless of whether or not you can identify the icon. I'll keep looking and hopefully someone chimes in with an answer but please come back and tell us if you solve it yourself!

Best of luck and I hope things work out!

Help No text message sound SOLVED after all other options exhausted + bonus "cheat" workaround

After doing an update to OS 9, I found that the sound notification didn't work. After considerable time, and following all suggestions given, it still didn't function. Again, more time as I had set up the settings within the app. This time I went within the app to: settings>apps and notifications>textra> permissions...make sure all permissions are granted. You do not need to grant permission to camera, location or phone. Sound notification comes back (if you set it up properly).

What's up with all these keyboards?

I'm spending most of the Chinese New Year in Ireland, UK, and Holland. I'm currently in London, go to Amsterdam on Tuesday. So I think I'm safe enough.
Good! I'm glad. That virus is nasty. Last I heard, some ≈25 million people (2 entire cities/regions) had been quarantined--with armed guards preventing their exit. :o

We don't want to see you on the news, Mike, so behave yourself! :D
