Google Search Bar on Screen

I can't say how common it is with non-Google launchers. I know Samsung don't do it, likewise at least some of the Chinese models. Others you see a search bar in the default launcher but don't know whether it's the traditional removable one or a Google-style "we know what you want better than you do" (they really do want to be Apple, despite their protests).

It's not a big deal as stock launchers are always inflexible, limited rubbish so I never bother with them, and hence don't care what bad ideas they include. Personally I've never seen the point of a search bar anyway: every browser lets you enter search queries directly anyway (to a search engine of your choice), so I see no advantage to a bar on the home page.

Help Phone connection via USB and MTP

Hi there // Hello there!!
I'll explain you my bad experience nowadays. My phone is a Huawei Honor 7C (LND-L29) and i'm having some troubles with it. When I connect it to my PC, the menu for USB connection appears and I select Media Transfer. At this point all good, but the problem is that when I select it, phone automatically selects Charge Only... I've developer options activated and I've selected by default, use MTP but also happens the same thing, when I select it, this one returned to Charge Only...

Could anyone help me?? It's so sad to cannot transfer files via usb for this reason...

Thank you

How do I remove birthday entries

I have a note 8 with Verizon, previously I had Sprint. Somewhere along the line a bunch of birthdays got added to my calendar. I use Outlook on my PC and I have a few contacts where I have entered their birthdays and these are the only birthday entries I want on my phone. When I open the calendar on my phone and see several birthday entries for a contacts where I do NOT have the contact in Outlook (Outlook is synced with my phone via Akrutosync, I only sync contacts, calendar, task, I do not sync my emails).
  1. How do I determine where the birthday entries that I don't want came from?
  2. How do I stop them from getting in the calendar on my phone?
  3. How do I remove the entry in the calendar?
On the phone I'm using the calendar that was made available by Sprint/Verizon, I've never used another calendar on the phone.

I was able to delete a few of the birthday entries by a long click on the entry and selecting delete but for most this is not an option.

Where I do have a birthday in Outlook 2013 on my Win10 PC I do want those in my calendar on the phone and my PC.
Thanks

What I did to make my mxq pro 4k run better imo

Another thing that I have discovered
DO NOT CHANGE DEV OPTIONS IN SETUP MODE WITH REMOTE!

It will reset the developer options to default by the looks of it

Found a better task killer app set it to auto every 15 seconds

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidrocker.taskkiller

ADD SETTINGS TO IGNORE LIST

I've also found something else out it usually freezes on the home menu so it might be a good idea to start using a float launcher instead
Plenty in the play store

I also recommend using this

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton

To remap your controllers buttons so you can use it to launch things it's proven useful to get out of a frozen moment

Set a foreground killing action to one of your remote buttons go back and forth from app to app and hit that button

'I have 1 set to Google play and 2 to octopus and 0 to foreground kill when octopus freezes I press 1 press 0 then press 2 sometimes have to keep repeating it till it works again'

Hotkey this as a final and last resort!!

SETTING REMOTE NUMBERS ALSO EFFECTS KEYBOARD NUMBERS KEEP THIS IN MIND

Greenify seems to help aswell

TIE THIS APP TO REMOTE KEY IT WORKS VERY WELL!!!

Did they get rid of the degree symbol on keyboard?

Hi everyone, there is a solve problem: Firstly, open an app where you can use the device's keyboard. The degree symbol is located in the Icons section on the Android phone's keyboard. Place the cursor where you want to add the degree icon. Tap the text field to which you want to add the degree icon (for example, the text field in the Messages section). Then, click on the "?123" button. It is located on the bottom left of the keyboard. When clicked, icons and numbers appear on the keyboard. Touch the next Icons (=/<) button. On most Android phones, the icons are two pages. You will need to touch the button with mathematical symbols to move to the next page. On some Android phones, you need to click on ">" to move to the next page. Touch the degree symbol. A degree symbol will be added to the text field.

Huawei honor 10 does not stop constantly vibrating

All of a sudden, phone started vibrating constantly for no reason. It simply never stops. If I restart it, it doesnt stop. If i power it off, it stops when it is off. The second i press the power button to start the phone, it starts vibrating non stop again.

Any idea if this is a software thing? Do you think a factory reset might help, or is it a hardware issue?
try it in safe mode first. if it still doing the same thing then i would try a factory reset to see if it is a software issue. if it is still doing it, then it is most likely a hardware issue

Can someone tell me what app this is

I had a look at the Play Store but there are a huge number of workout/female fitness/weight loss apps that have icons along those lines, plus some photo editing apps (for changing your shape for social media photos I assume). That general shape strongly suggests something like these though (female figure with band round the waist, which could indicate movement or a tape measure)

I didn't see an exact match, but notification icons are simpler than app icons themselves, and it's hard to find images of the notification icon.

Accessories IR Remote codemaps/keymaps?

Greetings everyone!

I am trying to find where in Android, preferably in Pie, how to set/setup/change IR remote control codes and their respective keymaps. I love Android TV mini-desktops, have about a dozen of them, and they all come with the worst remote controls in the world. I have also used apps to try and capture remote codes but they will not capture from other remotes or even unassigned buttons on these cheesy Android mini-desktop remotes. Where are the keymaps and codemaps in Android for IR remote controls? It seems to have moved somewhere between Android 7 and 9, as 7 used a remote.conf file. Pie does not... I cannot find where or how to get these things changed.

Thank you

SM-j730f- Trouble with update software...ETC..!

Knox showing 0x0 means that the phone hasn't been rooted and modified. If it was showing 0x1, that's a problem and Samsung OTA updates won't go through.

As to why the update isn't going through. Don't know for sure. One idea though, are you in the country or region that your phone was intended to be sold and used in. Is it a grey import? You could try updating it manually using Odin on a computer.
