Recover Data from Several Android Phones with broken screens

I was in Spain doing an extended hike over 2 months. During that time I m managed to break 4 phones. They appear to be damaged primarily on the display as they all seem to work to some degree e.g. alarms come on when they are powered. Unfotrtunately none of them are set to Android remote control as I bought them while hiking and did not have the time to set this up. They have never been on my home network or had a sim card from my country. I was hoping to use a USB hub with HDMI to access them using an external mouse, keyboard and monitor, but I tried this on one and nothing much happened. What can I do? The devices include a Huawei P20 Pro, and Redmi Note 10C, a cheap Realme phone. All were Android. Thanks

With the Huawei device, you can use a MateDock with it. Which is a Huawei hub with HDMI, and can use a keyboard and/or a mouse with it. However the MateDock is proprietary to Huawei and Honor phone only, and won't work with the Xiaomi and Realme devices.

Help Go to date calendar feature

I think they have ads precisely because you are using the free versions. I have the paid versions of all 3, and hence no ads; I work on the principle that it takes time and effort to write and maintain apps (I know because I do software development as part of my job), so I've no problem with paying a small sum to use them - and compared to PC software it is indeed only a small sum.

Fair enough, must admit I haven't looked at what they cost so that may be the correct thing for me to do ;)

Transparent notifications lockscreen and quick settings panel

Hi,

I have Android 11 Stable on my OnePlus 7 Pro. I don't have the rooted phone, nor do I want to. I would like to know if it is possible to have the notifications on the lock screen in semi-transparent cards. And equally apply it to the quick settings panel. This option that exists, for example, in Samsung devices, does not exist in OnePlus.

With the dark/light mode, logically, all I get is a dark or white background.

I don't know if it would be possible with Andromeda and Substratum. And if it were possible, with what theme would it be achieved?

Or in some other way.

Google device policy

Setting up a Mobile Device Management service is something that's not an easy task, it involves a lot of decisions based on established company business plans and how extensively it wants to control and monitor the mobile devices of its staff and workers.
So if your IT administrator isn't too familiar with the MDM Admin console, that brings up the question on just how much does the business you work for want to even have a centralized service like MDM implemented?
This is just an assumption but it sounds like currently it relies upon the Google workplace apps service, but is currently set up with log into their respective accounts individually.

Wi-Fi off then on?

I did find a setting called "Data Saver" which I disabled and that seemed to resolve the issue but it is back. Every time I change something it seems to be cured but then comes back.

It has been happening for a few weeks now. At first I thought it was just the Internet but I have a Samknows white box which confirms 175Mps Internet download speed and no disconnections of any note.

The Wi-Fi signal icon on my phone shows a strong signal and my WiFi analyser app shows a very strong signal from my router which is my own Netgear Nighthawk.

All this therefore seems to point to my phone.

Thank you for your response and I will try all you suggest and if anything cures it I'll leave it a while to make sure it doesn't re-occur before I post an update.
I also had a similar problem and your advice helped me. I disabled the traffic limit that was set by default on my phone. But there are problematic sites, so it is better to check the quality of the Internet on several sites. Or use the hosttracker page load speed monitoring tool to rule out or confirm a site problem. Sometimes I reset the router to factory settings.

g power 2021 parts?

Not sure i contacted cricket to see if the phone was locked or unlocked and they said the phone imei had a report on it and no information was after that when i ran it on crickets imei BYOD plan it was reported as stolen. Not sure if someone acquired the phone free with a service contract and didnt finish paying.

Anyway guess its junk. I had dropped a quest 5 one time cracking the camera lense why i questioned if it could be used for parts of that sort of thing.

Unlock phone options

I thought that was it, thanks.
I wonder why such an obvious fail-safe is not available. Pins are stored securely on the phone and I believe this kind of arrangement was available on earlier phones and tablets.
No, it's always been one or the other, at least on any device I've owned (using android for 12 years, devices from HTC, Samsung and Google).

I guess "obvious" is subjective. The reason for the fallback with the fingerprint is that it's inherently less reliable (fingers may be dirty, wet, might no longer have prints because you got cyanoacrylate glue on them, etc) and less secure. The latter is the main reason, so when you use the fingerprint it will every now and then ask for your PIN/pattern/password in order to confirm your identity (you also need this to change security settings - fingerprint isn't accepted for that). Neither of those applies to the other methods (both require the same touchscreen, so if one doesn't work the other isn't likely to), so there's no great advantage to allowing both.

LG Volt LS-740P ROM

this phone came out in 2014! i really doubt you will find any firmware for this phone at this point. i think it is time to get a new phone. or at least one that is much newer than this one.
That's not the point, The LG Volt isn't my main phone, far from it. I use an LG Velvet. It's just that I wanted to get this phone in somewhat a functional state again without it having be botched by the wrong firmware.

Help Samsung A32 and A13 cons?

Why Samsung? there are some nice Moto phones in the same price range as the A13/A32, running relatively stock android.
Unfortunately, neither solve the 'huge smartphone' problem. In fact some are even larger. All have the same boring 'modern' UI I'd have to spend days trying to make it look like Android 2.3. again.

I'm just done at this point. Using an AOSP flip phone and my 2012 Galaxy Tabs/Note tablets.

How Do I Stop Receiving Test Alerts

"Presidential" "head of state" alerts (other countries call it something different) are the most severe type. It often involves something like nuclear war. I think sometime ago Hawaii got a huge glitch in their alert system and infamously warned all their people an incoming ICBM was heading their way.

Yet another reason I'm not a fan of emergency alerts. I've been woken up at 2AM for a lost child three states away too often, and in January 2000, we never got warned for an EF3 tornado until a few minutes after the storm had ended. It was the black sky at 3PM and power failure that alerted us.

I never rely on any government for any kind of safety. My state, Kentucky, insists that every half inch of rain is a flood (they never saw Katrina aftermath to know what a real flood even is) and incessantly warn for river flood warnings. Yes, even with talking sirens usually meant for tornados. There's so many false positives and negatives to not put any trust into our EMS alert system. It's horridly out of date.
