accept? anybody can go there and try what the devs post there. my link just shows that there are no custom roms. there is a thread for rooting the device as well as a thread for twrp which is a custom recovery.....but that is about it.

if you want to speed things up, maybe try a factory reset.

The message icon is just some message app (and by "message" I mean "probably SMS"). There are hundreds of them, so unless someone uses exactly the same app chances are "some message app" is all we'll get. There isn't a standard app for this, as most manufacturers use their own and then many users replace that with one they prefer, but as everyone has at least one message app I don't think you can draw any conclusion from it.

I had a few dual sim phones on AT&T in the US. I think what they are getting at is that only one sim will use data.

I found Google Maps to be utterly worthless as well, and I've never used this Streetview app.

Not being able to cancel with a single touch is even more important IMO: that happened to me last week when I pulled the Pixel 2 out of my pocket and found I'd hung up on my daughter before I'd got the phone out of my pocket.

I've decided that the best solution is a single tap accept/reject plus a flip case so that you can't touch the screen until you intend to...

no root is quite perfect for me... if it does what it says when it comes down it. You see, I also expected Android 11 not to ignore my settings of Downloads over wifi only. Yes, it took a while to click every app (three times), but it eems to have been worth it and I had webview turned on for wifi.
I allowed only contacts and phone, everything else is red. I only rarely make phonecalls, so I have a strange simcard for phone only, which costs almost nothing, as long you do not make mistakes. And I need to be reached at all times....
I have disabled everything Google completely and it also seems to work against Playstore, which alsways used to tell me this or that will no longer work, which was not true.
