What is the lock/unlock icon on task list?

Do you have your phone or a third party app lock certain apps, i.e., when you tappy tap on them, do you need to enter a pin or code?

Thank you. No, it seems a builtin feature in Stock Android, but i do not know what it does mean .
I can lock and unlock each application in the task list but i do not know what i have locked and unlocked then...
I suspect it does mean some "keep in main memory" feature or something like that but i'm not sure in that.

Help Usb not connecting my phone to windows 10

May well be something wrong with the PC, Could be a software problem, could be a hardware problem, impossible to say without seeing it and/or having more information.

If it's software. Check the Device Manager in Windows, see if that's showing any errors. Maybe the motherboard drivers need re-installing?

If it's hardware. Could be a fault on the motherboard? If you don't know what you're doing with diagnosing computer hardware, consult a competent PC technician.
Thanks for the reply I will try reformatting and installing the drivers.

Apps how to do button with transparent background

hello i have an app with a big button in the middle of the screen and it looks like this:
20211130_172134.jpg
and the (coordinator) fragment layout file looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:eek:rientation="vertical">

<View
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="276dp"
android:background="?android:attr/listDivider" />

<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:eek:rientation="horizontal"
android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal">

<ImageButton
android:id="@+id/send_btn"
android:layout_width="186dp"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
app:srcCompat="@drawable/ic_circle"
android:contentDescription="send text to device" />
</LinearLayout>

<TextView
android:id="@+id/receive_text"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:freezesText="true"
android:gravity="bottom"
android:scrollbars="vertical"
android:textAppearance="@Style/TextAppearance.AppCompat.Medium" />

</LinearLayout>

i'm wondering how to get that background on the button to be transparent.

Help What are these notification icons for?

no idea. what phone do you have? do you have access to said phone? you can always look in the notifications in your phone's settings to find out.

but

something tells me this is not your phone. the problem is that there are millions upon millions of apps out there, each with their own notification icons......sooooooo......unless it is something popular like facebook or youtube, the chance of somebody recognizing it is very small. we get this kind of question asked almost on a daily basis. most of them go unanswered. the true way to know is to look in the phone.

so why not just ask?

Thanks for the response, phone is a Samsung S20, I will most likely end up asking under the right circumstances. Last time something like this came up, I was lied to and had to do some digging to prove the lie. Hoping this isn’t the case this time.

Newbie Help - App Subscriptions for Google Play

Welcome to Android Forums.
I hope this is the right place to ask this- please redirect me to the proper thread if this isn't it!
I can't answer any of your questions but this, sorry. :( You are most definitely asking in the right place. Hopefully someone can help. :)
I've submitted my first app to Google Play and I've gotten it close with a group of beta testers to where I want to do my big launch.
And just so I'm not a one trick pony, congratulations of nearing release and good luck!! :)

New App: Tower Defense Castle golden (Version 3.45)

My friends! I hasten to inform you that today I posted updates, a lot of work has been done, new maps with different locations have been added. Created a destroyed city that can be rebuilt and every building will benefit. Also added the ability to pump the hero. I thought that at least one of you would write a comment. If you liked the game, I will post the promotional codes here. I was in a hurry and there are a lot of minor problems in the game, do not judge strictly, I will fix them.

Android auto

Waze...
Hey, I get it and it's frustrating, but I stay away from Android auto because of its constant problems. Really not worth the headache. Alternatives?
Waze works like a charm but not sure if it's going to do what you are looking for.

Lost whatsapp chat

I have thought about how to help to return all information. Remember how I had the same problem with the hipaa compliant video conferencing(seecure.com) after changing a phone. And surprisingly was a good idea to apply for the support service or customer service. So it's, and my advice to you, at least one reason to call them, and in about 10 min you have all data restored. And if an issue is in something else, it'll be easier to know it. Reply to me if you have progressed with your problem, and I'll try to help if not.
