Help Photos from Gallery to Google Photos

The cable isn't the easiest way you can transfer a lot of photos rapidly on a computer. For example, when we used the photo retouching services for our wedding services, the editor of photos created a Google Drive, so we upload all the photos we want to edit. All he had to do is to download the photos on his computer and upload them back. You can do this also for personal purposes. I keep all my photos on a Google Drive online storage, so every device connected to my account can see what photos I have. It is very comfortable.

compass for a Nokia 2.4

Oh, you have the e+.
Not sure what the differences are.

But (on mine) isn't it odd that the compass feature in one app will work, but not in another app?

I know that the KuewelSoft Gauss meter will not work on a device without a magnetometer, as I have an old device with and another without.

Strange that the Android Army Knife compass wont work on my e6.

Apps Communicate with exterior device physically connected to android phone

Hello,

I have a project where it is required of me to replicate a Desktop application into an easy to use mobile application.

The application I want to create needs to communicate with an external device that monitors data like temperature and humidity. This monitored data will also be plotted on a graph in the android application (basically a two-way real time data sharing via wire). There's also configuration files that need to be uploaded into that device from the android application.

I would like to know if doing such a thing is possible. The communication has to be via wire. Wireless connections are not an option.

If someone could direct me via an API that handles such tasks or a small tutorial it would be amazing!

Thank you.

Help Is there a way to schedule the phone to turn off and on automatically?

My LG V60, my old phone, Note 9 and my wife's Note 20 Ultra has scheduled power on/off feature. I set it to do it once a week.

You can't set it to turn off at one time and come on at a later time but you can set it to cycle off then on at a set time. I set it for Wed 4 am and my alarm is at 6 am.
My LG V40 has the schedule power off feature, though it automatically restarts within an hour of the scheduled off time.

Mine BTW goes off every Sunday at 3:00am.

Unlock google device protection

Hello androidforums,
My device is protected with a device password and I forgot my google name and password as well as all data related to this google account?
Can I throw the phone in the garbage or is there something I can do?

Thank you so much for reading this,
A desperate guy trying to save his phone
did you try a forget password to your account? you do not remember your google account email address?

anyways i would do a hard reset which will trip FRP(factory reset protection) and then throw it away.

Sony Xperia Compact Pixel ROM

Hi. I have set up ADB on my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact by using Home-brew commands on my Mac's Terminal, Installed TWRP and unlocked the boot loader on the phone. I have Android file transfer installed, so I guess I am good to go with installing a custom ROM? (Never done this before). What would be the best source for a Google Pixel look? I have been to the Pixel Experience site and it has the XZ1 Compact listed as 'supported' but when I click on the link it says Pixel 10 has been 'Discontinued' for this phone. It shows Pixel 11 Beta underneath but when I click on that it just says 'No files uploaded. Please check back soon.' Can you suggest a site where I can get the Pixel look (with an OS is ideally updated for this phone)? Secondly, once I have found a ROM I am good to go with, do I need to install Magisk first? (Consfused on whether this needs to be rooted through Magisk or whether the install ROM will be part of the process in rooting)? I have Android File Transfer on my Mac now, so once I have downloaded the custom ROM, which file gets dragged to where on the Android File Transfer folders? Thanks in advance.
here you go:

always head on over to xda for anything root or custom related inquiries.

Use Google Assistant with AV Receiver Pioneer

Hello everybody!
See, I have a Pioneer vsx-831 Receiver with wifi and bluetooth and Chromecast built in.

My question: How can I use the Google Assistant voice commands to:
Open and run Deezer or Tidal in the "Pioneer Remote App"?
Since I can only open the app saying "Ok Google, open Pioneer", but I can not make it choose then "NET" and then "Dezeer" and play it.

I hope you can help me. Thanks!

Speech to text on my S10 errors

I've been using Samsung Messages, and when I do speech to text, it keeps repeating pieces of text somehow. Here's an example:
"I'm testing this app to see if it does a better job of speech to it's the better job of speech to text. I have a feeling that it's probably have a feeling that it's probably going to make he same types of mistakes"

I switched from Samsung Messages, to Google messages, and same errors. I switched engines from the default Samsung one to the Google engine and same issue. I played around with all the speech to text settings, but no dice. Maybe I need to remove and reinstall the speech to text function somehow? I've rebooted and same thing. Thanks for the help b/c it's driving me insane.

Help No Radio after Rear Camera replacement

Hello,
I replaced the rear camera. Everything works fine...... Except the cell radio is inop and won't pick up a tower. SIM Status = Network: No network connection, Mobile Network State: Disconnected, Service State: Radio Off. IMS registration status: Off

I've been back in it to confirm connections several times. The WiFi radio works fine and allows me to connect.

I've had Samsung cells apart at least 10 times for screens and ports. Never saw this issue. I'm just trying to find out if I need another motherboard or if the firm/hardware is failing.

Any advice?
Thanks in advance,

LG G5 Overheats ?

G4 is getting too hot to hold. Ive read sometimes rooting or getting rid of bloatware can help but I cannot find a root software or video that throughly shows how to get rid of this bloatware either by rooting or using ADB commands.
Right now cannot even get command prompt to recognize that a phone is plugged in.
Weird thing is if I do not fast charge or use phone as a hotspot it does not seem to heat up too much. Only when put in sim card and hotspot and charge it does it seem to overheat.
Are you saying that a only 4g device might get phased out soon and no longer work at all?
i am saying that a device that is 4-5 years will start to break down with no plans to support it. it is called planned obsolescence. and the same will go for apps. developers will always update their apps to support newer os. and lose support for older os.

and getting rid of bloatware by rooting will only free up space. it might help a tad with battery, but it is not the solution you are looking for.

and have you tried different cables? are your drivers up to date? what commands have you tried? do you have adb setup correctly? are you opening the command prompt in the right directory? can you post the command output?

and yes charging will always heat up the phone. same as when using the phone as a hotspot.

What phones other Moto's let you activate the flashlight using a motion?

I can't find anywhere online where someone has already asked this.

I need a new phone and a wider selection would be best but I need to be able to turn on the flashlight very quickly.

Too quickly to use both hands or look at the screen. I barely have enough time to get it out of my pocket and shake it.

I'm not doing anything illegal or immoral lol it's just a safety thing but it's an essential safety thing.

I know this is old, but it sounded fun.. So I have an app from simple tools (good stuff that guy puts out} called "flashlight". In settings, I tell it to turn on the flashlight upon launch, and then configured a new profile in Tasker to launch the flashlight on a left - right shake, along with waking up the screen for good measure. Works like a champ.

Interacting with Other Apps

The proper way to do this is to leverage the available APIs. Otherwise you would need some sort of bi-directional trust between your app and the one you want to interact with; definitely doable if you're building both apps, but somewhat less so when you want to tap into an app you don't control.

There are always the hacks by exploiting various accessibility services to see what's being displayed in another app, but apps which abuse those capabilities tend to get banned pretty quickly. And you're definitely not going to be able to perform inputs for the user in another app without drawing Google's attention.

Honestly, just stick with verifying posts via the available APIs. Anything less is pretty shady and likely to upset both users and Google.

Always on notifications

there is no setting for the always on display(AOD) on the note 10+ that i know of. the only way maybe thru 3rd party always on display apps. for me the most important are my text messages, calls, and emails. those are always displayed first. i have turned off most notifications for apps i do not need notifications for.

just do a play store search for AOD and and work your way down the list until you find the right one that you like.
