Help Problem with Galaxy S9Plus-settings change for no reason

Hello:

I am a newbie to this. Several years ago I purchased a Galaxy S9 Plus, based on a recommendation in Consumer Reports. I really like it's size and the camera. Unfortunately, it developed a strange syndrome of changing some of my settings without me do so! This is primarily in the connections section of the settings, where it will periodically change to Airplane Mode until I discover it. There is no chance that I accidentally changed the settings on my own as this has happened multiple times. Verizon tech support did all the usual things like a hard re-set, and then had me drain everything out of the phone and then restore it. This didn't help and thus they sent me a new (refurbished) S9 Plus and the same problem is still re-occurring. Has anyone had this happen and if so, any solutions? Thanks! Tim

The bootloader is not supported for unlocking, nor has any exploit been discovered for unlocking it. On such devices, custom ROMs and recoveries are not developed because they cannot be installed on a locked down bootloader. Likewise, root simply is not possible on many devices that have locked bootloaders. Sometimes root can be attained on such a locked device, but devices are made differently and it depends on a particular set of circumstances. In addition, the LG model you mentioned isn't really popular making it much less likely that a root solution will be attained. To paraphrase a good friend and fellow AF members @ocnbrze , If you want a rooted Android its best to do some research before you buy.

Help What are these information's and privacy?

Neither Serial Number nor IMEI allows the phone to be hacked, either separately or together. They may be of interest to scammers, and as I mentioned could indirectly have consequences for you (e.g. if this results in your IMEI being blacklisted), but there is no magic backdoor where someone who knows your true name IMEI can take control of you your phone.

Of course if someone had access to your carrier's systems and knows your IMEI they could monitor your approximate location (the phone uses the IMEI to identify itself to the carrier when it connects - this is how a phone can be blacklisted). But that's like saying that if someone has access to your carrier's systems they can see who you call and when, who you send SMS to: of course they can, because all of that comes through their systems. But that's nothing to do with hacking your phone. If you are worried about that, making sure your Google account is secure is the most important thing, because that's the easiest way for anyone to get into your phone.

Phone remote administration by company

When you want to use a work phone for personal usage, that may or may not be your best option. Did your company actually give you that previous Note 10? Or do they indeed own it and want it back after all your old data has been transferred to the new phone?
If it is still their property, and all their phones to have some kind of remote management installed on them, it's not a matter of your company 'spying' on your personal life, they own the phone and if they want to make sure staff use them just for work purposes that's not unreasonable. If that old phone is now yours though, than ask the IT department to release that phone from their remote management control.
