Tablet reset A & A8

I have a couple Samsung Galaxy tabs - An A and an A8 SM-T510 and SM-X200. I would like to reset them to be as if they were never used or set up. I found the factory reset - but it warned that I would have to enter a samsung account login to be able to use the device again. I have an account on my current device, but these were setup with another account, that I don't have the info for. Shouldn't the reset clear all the data so I can use these as if they were new??

Motorola Razr Won't Stay Unlocked and Won't Text With my Car

I am really fed up with this new Motorola Razr Ultra 2025. It is supposed to operate "Extend Unlock". and I have spent many hours trying to get this to work (I'll mention some of what I tried down below).
Now, I discovered yesterday that my car reports, "The currently connected phone does not support text messaging via Bluetooth". Apparently the car uses Map method and the new phone doesn't use Map. My 8 year old Sony phone has been working fine with my car for 8 years.

I am seriously considering returning this phone for a refund!!.

Has anyone found a solution for these problems?

So of my unlock problems:
I have tied so many things I can't remember them all. Motorola says:

Baloney! that doesn't work. The 8 year old Sony has a lock/unlock ability that works perfectly and has for years. As a test, I unlock both phones and place them side by side. If I check back in 10 or 15 minutes the Razr has locked itself but the Sony is still unlocked just as it should be. After trying the link above many times and trying lots of other things I went to ChatGPT. After a lot of things it told me to try MacroDroid. That was a mess. I tried a few things that I couldn't get to work. The problem with MacroDroid is it keeps blasting adds. I swear it over road my volume settings to do the blast. If it would have worked I would have paid for the Pro version but with the add blasts I couldn't concentrate to test it.
Then ChatGPT said try the app Automate. I started that and then said to myself, "Why am I spending hours of my time trying to fix a Razr problem"?
This is ridiculous. You spend over $1,000 on a phone that isn't as good as the $500 one I bought 8 years ago.

Book alert

I'm looking for a couple of kids' books from years ago. One features a girl who badly needs glasses. It shows what she erroneously sees and then what it really is in a series of charming illustrations. Of course by the end she gets the glasses. The other is a coloring book with a story about puppets, at least mainly marionettes. One of them is a pirate. These were originally published decades ago and I'm sure will be difficult to obtain now.

Hearing Health and Hearing Aids

I considered bringing an old hearing aid thread back to life, but as tech has evolved, I thought I would leave the past in the past. Here is a link to the old thread that isn't completely without information:
Hearing Aids and Android
I bought my hearing aids in February of 2020. They have been a good tool through the years but they have had problems. I've had a few hardware problems and had the most recent problem repaired today. I had the right receiver fail and fortunately they had a replacement. The biggest problem I've had with my aids is they have only partially worked with Android after a rev upgrade in 2021. The aid manufacturer refused to address the problem and Android ignored it. Between the lack of solid communication between phone and hearing aids and the fact that they are pretty much at the end of their life expectancy, I have scheduled another hearing test and plan on getting some new aids. I will go through Costco for my test and aids again. They have treated me right and they have no incentive to sell products. Your hearing is their only concern.
My appointment isn't until next month. I'll know more about how the aid industry has evolved in the last five years and hopefully the products available are far more compatible with Android now. I hope to have some positive posts to share.
No matter how the industry has progressed, I strongly advocate having your hearing tested and investing in aids if you have a hearing deficit. Ignoring poor hearing is just as detrimental to a healthy and enjoyable existence as ignoring poor vision.

Another walmart problem

My friend got a set of bedding from them. It has sheets abd pillowcases as well as a bed skirt and comforter. She wants to replace the comforter and the plastic bag that holds them all. It's king size and paisley on one side with a white background. The other side is light green. The plastic bag is transparent. She tried to email walmart with photos but they never responded.

What is your home network setup?

OK, so my home network is basically a old Dell Inspiron 660 running Windows 11 Home edition, which I use for running my entire media collection of movies, TV shows and music thru Emby, a personal media server. Works great as it gives you all of your media anywhere you have internet, be it at home or away. My other PC is a New Dell tower that I use for my Graphic design business from home, and a new Dell Latitude E5580 laptop for my business also. Both running Windows 11 Pro editions.
What I like about having Emby is I have my music and movies anywhere at any time.
I also use Onedrive, which is a life saver. Able to access my Graphic design files home or away on my laptop.

Moto edge 2022..

New thread for those who are wondering, here it is, almost a full year since I had it (purchase it on 11/11/24) through the main headquarters of Verizon. (My visit was okay, but they did not give me spit on the world for a case, but my sister gave me hers, was a few millimeters taller then mine, but when I did get the otter case fits perfectly, press-on protection glass, still I could use it without it).

Pros:

Well pretty great battery for an introvert like myself, able to make cell calls about every once a while pretty clear, can text whomever seems pretty well, with Whatsapp and Signal frequent useage with Gmail, Camera, VLC, Blue tooth (Widex hearing aids) over all with wifi sort of on most of the day, it is soild over all, drains over all maybe about twenty percent after fully charge, when turning it off and putting it away for sleep it does not drain much unless I have running apps in the bg. While some mobile background usage is in the apps, (Never care for data sharing with other cells in general, even though have wifi cut off as well as cellular data off) it feels legit, the weight and height of it was pretty hard to get used to overall, but the screen is size of a normal hat (stocking hat lengths) Amazing features to modify the colors and massive goodie bags that is on the cell over all.

Take away from it:
Heafty price about 1,900 over all through the store, the customer service reek of bad habbits and behaviors, Hate the default launcher, switch with Smart Launcher over all, a decent one. The feel over it when I sit it down and do a lot of texting with it, my hands phantomly feel the groove in it. (A lot of still mobile background data chomping away on apps, even though it is ugly sharable in general)

And:

My battery will probably die out in a spell or two, thanks with Accubattery though, but tbh I do not like the option switch for battery though but I wait for the next morning or until it gets down to about half to charge it again, so looking at a great two days worth of idle with it.. (Yeah I am part intervert).

TV box speed

I have an X88Pro13 TV box and my internet is theoretically 500Mbps, the router is a Linksys SPNMX42
Using Ookla the download speed using the X88Pro wifi is 140Mbps and the wired ethernet is 76Mbps.
I added a TP-Link UE306 USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Internet Adapter in the hope of getting faster wired speeds but it's actually giving me lower speeds at 66Mbps. I tried the adapter in my laptop and I am getting speeds north of 300Mbps, so it appears the adapter itself is OK.
Any ideas why and any way of speeding things up?
Thanks, Mike

Already Labor Day Weekend

It sure doesn't seem possible that the summer is winding down and this weekend is labor day weekend. So far, I don't have anything special planned for the holiday. Grilled burgers and dogs will probably be the go to for dinners unless I see something special that jumps into my grocery cart. I'm looking forward to just hanging out and relaxing. I'll probably do some bike riding if the weather is decent. I will mow lawns Monday. The grass has no idea it's a holiday.
Do you have anything special planned for the holiday? Any super meals to help celebrate the weekend? If you travel, be safe.

WHAT IS IT WITH THE MOTO G STYLUS?!

I just had another go bad. It was more or less ok earlier and about 1 hour ago it started having a seizure. It hasn't stopped yet. This was about the most expensive I've had, around $130. I mentioned that it seemed to drain somewhat fast and that it got unreasonably hot without being put through its paces. Also, I've been having trouble with DuckDuckGo. It's mainly a particular website but it's been slow on others, requiring frequent reloads, etc. What am I supposed to do with this hunk of junk? Can I get it to behave normally, at least long enough to transfer as much as possible to sd card (1tb)? I am typing this with the Blu, which is supposedly the inferior phone, ha!

NCAA Men's Basketball 2025

It seems like the big tournament was just over and here it is, mid August already. I'm still caught up in Baseball but I'm ready for some football and basketball. I'll be rooting for the local boys, The Wichita State Shockers, as I can't help myself. I doubt they will every have another deep run in the big dance while I'm alive to see it. But hey, It doesn't keep me from rooting and hoping. I am also a fan of the Kansas University Jayhawks. They are a more exciting team to watch and almost always have a contending team. I'd love to see them win it all again!
