I have a big issue with my Samsung Galaxy A21s. I set up a password for the lock screen a couple of days ago. Everything was working fine, but yesterday my phone randomly decided to lock itself for 1440 minutes (24 hours) after typing in my correct password once. I waited those 24 hours and tried again and it got locked for another day again. The password is 100% correct.

Or course I tried restarting the phone and booting it in safe mode, without success. I tried unlocking it on my computer via Google find my phone (I don't have a samsung account set up), but it appeared as offline, even though it is connected to wifi. I have to mention that it has airplane mode on which I can't turn off and NordVPN is installed. The phone has very few apps installed, such as Telegram, NordVPN and Instagram, no malicious third party applications...

I don't want to hardware reset the phone because it has very important things on it. Sending it to Samsung isn't possible as well, I don't have a bill for the product.

Hey everyone. I'm trying to transfer my whatsapp account/messages from an old phone to my new phone, and i'm having issues.

Just to clarify, both phones are Android (old phone is a Moto G Power, new phone is a Google Pixel 5a), and I don't believe I took a backup before I transferred my phone number. I've only tried performing backups on my old phone after the service was transferred.

So given all this, i've tried to backup my messages/service both locally and to Google Drive (with the same Google Drive account of course). For some reason, i'm not seeing any new files in my Google Drive after the backup, and my new phone isn't recognizing any backups in my Drive.

I've also tried taking all WhatsApp related files on my old phones storage and transferring them to my new phone before installing the app again, in the same location as before. WhatsApp doesn't seem to recognize it.

So i'm assuming all this is going on because my backups were all taken after my phone number was transferred, but I want to make sure before I have to switch services back and forth. Is this the problem i'm having? It's the only issue I could gleam from the support instructions, but they won't give any confirmation

Just been staying at a hotel and saw a problem I've encountered before where in order to get on the free WiFi entails you need to go through a sign-in screen. However, when I click on the "go to sign-in screen" I get an error saying that it can't load www.google.com (ERR-CERT-AUTHORITY-INVALID) and the text indicates that this could be due to the connection being intercepted by the sign-in screen.

This is using Chrome 103.0.5060.71.

Just wondering if anyone knows a way round this issue and/or is this because the version of Android and security bits and bobs are too old to cope.

I have been getting on well with my A8 tablet, but....

I have somehow screwed up the color settings of my display and keyboard and cannot restore it to the original setup. For example, my keyboard now has yellow keys with blue letters & symbols, and the images have a definite yellow tinge.

I am fearful of using fixes described online because I don't want to accidentally do a full factory reset.

Is there a simple way to get back to a 'normal' looking screen please?

So a weird thing happened and has me confused. Several months back my dad switched service providers. He got a new phone, number, and sim card. The old number will not deactivate (tracfone thing) til March of next year. Today he texted me, and it arrived from the old tracfone number. I texted back and it was actually him on his new phone. Does anyone know how this is possible. The old contact was removed and a new contact added. There are 2 separate text chains. So we have texted under the new number, but today all of a sudden the texts arrived under the old number.

Trying to put my photos on a RaspberryPi server, I got it to work by adding "
client min protocol = NT1
Client max protocol = SMB3
server min protocol = NT1
Server Max Protocol = SMB3"

to smb.conf in the "GLOBAL" section right after
workgroup = WORKGROUP

Then restart both smbd and nmbd.

There are security issues with SMB1 (NT1) so try this at your own risk.

Does anybody know that this icon from my status bar means? I have searched android icons and it's not in any of the tables I can find, nor is it in the user guide for my phone:

Not working at all, I tried a few times scanning it in with my phone, and logging in that way as well as my p.c., figure hell what is one device over the other too. So all I am getting is still the QR code screen of my ps3, I really want to dive into my old downloads as well as connect with cloud storage with different games, so I do not have to preset everything again and again, is tere a way how to just log in with my devices, or am I just as it putting in an extra step in and logging without my cell and no screen will ever pop up.
