FYI - here is my experience with a few different kernels.

BB 0.2.1
NexTheme

ChevyNo1 ulv 1.2 - stable @ 1.2, temps around 30-42C, quadrant 1500ish-1604. Short bench 175-202ms.

jake's 1.2 - stable @ 1.2, temps 33-41C, quadrant 1400ish-1543. I noticed the FPS was about 3-8 higher than the other kernels I've tested. Short bench 117-143ms.

P3 lv1.25 - stable @1.25, temps 30-36C, quadrant 1513-1689. Short bench 162-181ms. Linpack 18.56-19.403. I didn't think to install Linpack until now, so this is the only kernel I've run it on.

I can't say much about battery life as I have a lot of apps with short updates/location so my battery life sucks to begin with.

All in all I'm incredibly pleased with the results I've had. Did I just get really lucky?

I've had similar results with Jakes, my FPS was always about 20/21, now it's almost 30 most of the time for the first test, and 2-5 higher for the second two. short bench 114

:D Well, if they're not going to make it a sticky, people still need to be able to find it!

I vote for sticky...

Bump for sticky :D

Yeah - sticky - this is at least as useful (more, IMHO) than the Froyo themes thread...

Agreed. Im gonna be the brave one and just ask. ;)

No, I refuse!

Alright... just kidding. You can have your dang sticky. :)

...I crack myself up :D

+1 on this.. I'm using the same kernel on my Droid and it is, hands down, the best kernel I've used to date since 2.0.1. It's fast, stable, runs ridiculously cool and my battery life has been nothing less than stellar (typically a day and a half without charging on casual/medium load). I used kernels from P3, Bekit and jfgld prior to this, but I have been flat out impressed by the 1.2Ghz ULV kernel by ChevyNo1.

I've been using the 1.2Ghz ULV kernel by ChevyNo1 on the Froyo Kangerade rom for a while but yesterday I noticed that when I charge my phone, it charges really quick from 15% to 100% in less than an hour. Im not used to that. In addition, I kept my eye on my phone, i noticed the battery drop from 70% to 50% between back light turning off and me turning it on to reply to a text. Less than a minute..

Update: after using this kernel for a full day i can say my battery life is insanely good. if your phone can handle an ultra low voltage kernel i highly recomend this one. my phone runs cool and fast at 1000mhz and after taking it off the charger at 7:05am i still have 90% battery as of 1:22pm and that is with a few calls, several emails, some web browsing and the normal "i am bored let me look at my phone stuff"

2 questions. First, my phone only alerts me in 20% increments. How do you know you have 90% left?

Secondly, I'm using Froyo Kangerade. I've never added kernels before. Are there some that work better than others? Will this one work OK w/ it?

Im downloading bb v0.3 right now. I had been using the p3 1.2 kernel. Should I keep that or try something that people have had better experience with? Im still not too knowledgeable on kernels

Sure, you should try it, but just to be safe, you should DL several other kernel options to your SD card, in case that one doesn't play well with your new ROM.

Dangit, why didn't I read this before downloading a new rom.

I have buglessbeast 0.3 and just downloaded Chevy1 1ghz ULV. It is rebooting now. How hard is it to recover if this doesn't work??

I tried the BB v0.3 ROM with Nextheme on top. I am currently using the p3 1.2ghz LV kernel and I am very happy with it so far. I ran a 1674 on the Quadrant Benchmark. So anyone that wants a good setup I am very happy with this so far. Battery life doesnt seem so bad either.

I am running the Kangerade v1.1 (with SPRecovery). Anybody running this ROM and overclocking? I don't really care which kernel I use, I just want one that works.

I started using the LV 1.25 ghz kernel from P3Droid and it works great... only problem is the Swype feature from Swype stopped working. Any ideas?

hey guys im new to all these rooting stuff. i just rooted my droid recently and currently runnign petes latest bb rom. i see that my max cpu speed is 800 mhz ( setcpu). my question is, in order to get hgiher frequencies, do i just d/l one of the kernels from the 1st post and flash the update through recovery boot/rom manager? sorry for the noob question and thanks in advance!
