Root White Widow

I haven't had any issues with sending MMS but have seen issues with a few different Cyanogen set ups. This was posted by Conap over at XDA for his rom, but maybe it would work with this one. Do a Nand Backup first just to be on the safe side, but I really wouldn't think this would cause any issues. It should either work or not, and not break anything important...

HTC Droid Eris ROM Site

Once there - look for the Cyanogen 2.5 MMS fix.

As far as the messages going through both stock and Handcent, there are a couple of ways. Go to Settings > Manage Applications > Message App > Clear Defaults. Then go to send a message and it should ask you which one you want to use, make sure you check the button that asks if you want this app to be used as default. Or, you can just delete the stock app. Use something like Titanium BackUp so you still have it if you want it.
Hope this helps...
Worked perfectly! Thank you!

I'm having a strange problem. After flashing this ROM last night, when I answer calls, people cannot hear me. I've also tried making outgoing calls, and they can't hear me either. Suggestions?

you have the silent call bug my friend. that has nothing to do with the rom.

Suggestion: CALL VZW tech support DO NOT go to the store, and tell them whats wrong. I did the same thing and had a refurbed Eris in 2 days.

+1 did the same thing. was on the leak, and the water sticker was red, but they never said anything about it after receiving it.

Maybe you lucked out and got one of the knuckle-dragging techs to examine the device.

They can be quite helpful at times, albeit inadvertently.

I went into the store to have my eris replaced for silent bug issues. No questions asked got a refurb. My friend came along with me and asked for them to update his env touch. They took it into the back and brought it back out and said this wont update well send a new one to your house. End of.

His phone was destroyed. Had water damage a bad charging port and so many other problems. He was so happy he got a free refurb even with the water damage.

I have a Question, is there any recommended setting for this ROM in particular for the SetCPU2.0? I've been playing with it a little bit but when in comes to make profiles and stuff like that, I dont know which settings should pick or what not? or if there is a specific setting for this particular ROM or if it is the same for every ROM :/

Wont be around for a while guys, i need a new phone...AGAIN.
Hopefully i get one able to be roted or i get lucky with the new root method. man....this is the reason i need a tester phone lol

well this rom is so customizable-metamorph capable-that my setup will look way different than yours. there are some screenshots of mine and another users setup on one of the other pages. just look on page two and three

Andrizoid, do you know which dialer you used back in the 3.1 days? That one had a very cool blacklist feature that allowed me to ignore certain numbers, permanently.

Also, I tried making a *228 call and an update interface comes up, but the keypad does not come up to allow you to push 2 for updating roaming capabilities. I just dialed *22899 and I think that covers both options 1 and 2.

you can also hit menu and pause then 1 or 2
\this is the dialer that was included in 5.0.8 of the CM source

I came across an issue when using speaker phone. If I switch to speaker phone while in a call, set the phone down and talk away, I have not yet been able to find a way to come out of speaker phone mode once the screen goes black. In previous roms I would press the wake/power button and my screen would come back alive and I could then disable speaker phone. If I do that on this rom it ends the call. any thoughts/ideas?

its been gone over a few times, maybe not in the thread but in other places

the issue is the timeout. change your time out to something higher or occasionally just touch the phone so the screen doesnt time out

Is there something in the software that can be changed so that button doesn't terminate the call while the screen is blank? The screen consumes a lot of resources and I actually liked the fact that other roms kept the ability the wake the phone with that button during speaker phone calls.

I hope I'm not coming off as an ass; it's just a concern of mine. I don't want to have to keep touching the screen or change my timeout settings. I have been enjoying WW and this is the first real problem that bothers me because I use speaker phone a lot.

ill look into it but im juggling a bunch of projects right now.
look into the screeble app, it will automatically disable the timeout when the phone is held in a certain position.

had an issue with sending mms after 4.4 flash. i know ivans apns are baked in, but i installed apnbackuprestore and restored ivans. now it works fine. seems just a my phone issue.

If you hold down the green/call button for a couple of seconds, the screen will come on without hanging up the call. Trackball does the same.

Question. Can I remove of the gallery apps. I like the columns and rows horizontal scroll, but not the all pictures list vertical scroll. I've trashed and can't thinkof a way to ask. Sorry if I'm jjrii

You should be able to uninstall them via Titanium Backup or Root Explorer. There are a couple of other ways, but I find those to be the easiest... Especially Titanium, since it is free and you can back them up before you uninstall in case you want to use it again for some reason.

Ok I have come up with some development with 4.4. I was having sensor problems after flashing 4.4, the touch screen fix, and the apps zip. I flashed CELB, and had no such problems. So I reflashed just 4.4, no other zips. Now the sensor is working fine, also I notice that the dialer is different, it has 6 different options while on a call. Then I flashed the touchscreen update zip, and once again my sensor doesn't work, and I have a different dialer, then one that just has the pull up icon, and tells you to press menu.

Which leads me to believe that something with the touch screen update is causing problems with the sensors on the phones that need the touch screen update.
