Root White Widow

Are you confusing HD with High Quality? In my mind, they are two very different things. The Eris is not capable of playing back HD due to both its lacking processor, and the screen resolution isn't HD.

The Youtube .apk in this ROM can play HQ versions though. It uses the same basic behavior as the one on the stock Eris ROM. Over wifi, it plays the high quality version, and over 3G, it plays the normal quality version.

If you on 3G, you can opt in to high quality by pressing menu, then more, than "Watch in High Quality".

I personally like it this way. It takes an incredible amount of time to have a high quality video buffer where I live. 500 Kb/s in a best case scenario is just too slow.

Yeah that's what I'm saying... I always use 3G (after all, that's what I'm paying for ;)) and the "Watch in High Quality" menu option is not there anymore, even on videos that should. It was there before I rooted... :(

I'm not a big the 3D gallery. Any way to get the stock gallery or 2D gallery?
Yes. Easily. On your Sd card there should be a folder that says "White Widow Optional Installs". Inside there should be a Gallery.apk. Install that.

Then if you want to remove the 3D gallery, delete the 3DGallery.apk from the /system/app/ directory.

So when I try to install an app from the market, it says insufficient storage.

I just completely wiped out my phone and installed WW 4.6. There's 146 mb internal storage left. What's the deal?

Actually I wasn't even using apps2sd at all. Anyways, I wiped and now it works fine.

By the way, what are the advantages of apps2sd? Is it just more storage for apps or are there any speed changes?

Hmm. That's actually pretty smart. I notice there's a setting in recovery that says move apps +dalv to SD. Will that move all my apps to the sd card so I can use apps2sd, or should i make the partition first?

Ok, I read through this whole post and did not see the answer to my problem. I cant get wifi to work. I moved the "wlan.ko" to my tools folder of sdk. I opened the cmd prompt and put in the codes and it says it can't be found. Any ideas?

you need a partition to move them to

I lost my partition when I reformatted to try a Froyo based ROM. I need to partition again to get it to work w/ White Widow again. Can anyone please list what settings to choose while partitioning in recovery mode? I searched, but couldn't find a definitive answer and I partitioned so long ago that I can't remember what options I chose.

he i got a question i just rooted and flashed white widow 4.6 and flashed the google zip and touch screen zip now when i try to intsall apps from the market it says unsuccessful insuficient memory which i have over 100 mb. any ideas

Read the thread. You need to partition the SD card. I need to do this as well I just need the details on which options to chose in recovery.

I think when I did mine it just gave me the option to partition and that was it. Just back up all your stuff you want to save.

WW didn't work right until I did the partition, and wiped my sdcard.
Im still new so I am not 100% on everything.

Still need to get my Wifi working. The cmds aren't working on my computer. I put wlan.ko in sdk tools, but no go on pushing it.

i installed clockwork mod by accident how would i get amons recovery back

This has happened to me on a couple white widow roms. When i first rooted i tried the clockwork mod, didn't like it and uninstalled. And didn't notice anything til i installed white widow... but only happened on a couple of them.

I always had to just go back to how you originally installed amon's recovery. just do the same thing again.
