Help [OFFICIAL] 2.2 ota is live for evo

Ahh...I see others have suggested the fix - delete third party flash light apps - they conflict with the camera. Done, and it works. Thanks all! -Ron

" Camera won't launch after updating my Evo to 2.2
Anyone else seeing this problem? When I touch the camera or camcorder icon, it tries to launch then quits back to the homescreen. Any advice?"

you newbies gotta learn how to search for your answers..

Let me google that for you

84mb... I guess I'll be waiting for froyo till tonight. It's probably better for my work productivity anyway.

cant see the update here in DC. tried update Profile, PRL, firmwae, HTC s/w update.. no love.

Did you install the initial 2.2 update from last week? People who already have 2.2 from last week will get an update patch in the near future.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem here in Va :(

@kast - didnt install the early 2.2 release lastweek.. thinking about trying the manual http://liveimage.htc.com/OTA_Supersonic_3.26.651.6-1.47.651.1_releasem24cfnusi9dsrr6i.zip

@complex - i tried it lastnight/today down in the woodbridge area and couldnt pick up the update. 2 of my friends were able to get the update tho.

the only mod i did to my phone was the original toast which was unrooted when i did a sprint update before..

now i have unrevoked to root it whenever i want to use wifi tether.. but the root doesnt stick on reboot

AboutPhone:
f/w v: 2.1-update1
baseband v: 1.39.00.04.26
s/w #: 1.32.651.1

i dont think i should be having any issues going to 2.2..?

I installed the original release manually the other day. Everything seems to work perfect except exchange connection. I have never had a problem before after many wipes and rom installs. However, with the original 2.2 release I cannot connect. Anyone else having exchange problems?

Also, I had the original clockwork recovery. Now, I cannot get into the recovery to the point of being able to flash a new image. Anyone know how to remove this and go back to stock? I am on 2.2 the original.

Also, no luck for OTA update thus far. Shows nothing. Philadelphia area.

tried manually.. boot into recovery and get the exclamation point. wtf is going on w/this thing.

nvm - got it.. had to press/hold volume up.. and then press power. was then able to select update.zip.

now it said failed to verify whole-file sig, sig verification failed, installation aborted.

screw it -im waiting for OTA.

Still no update for me. Been checking since last night and it keeps telling me 1.47.651.1 (old update) is available but not Froyo. Ive done a few resets already but still no go. Im in NYC if that matters

I believe you have to be at 1.47 to get the OTA

As always, I'm pretty sure Tallahassee or anyone in Florida won't get this until either Thursday, or Friday. There ain't any updates available for download here. Oh well, I'm still waiting for the hoard of new posts about the problems, then I'll see if they're bad enough to keep me from updating until they're fixed.

I did the OTA in 3G with five bars, it took about five minutes to download. Loving the changes I see so far and I havent even explored it all yet Looks like this is going to be a great update!

I'm been trying to get the update for hours...my evo is stock, no update?

What gives?

Furthermore I have three folks that are friends/relatives that live in the area and they have all gotten the update...so it's not a geographic thing.

UPDATE: I'm an idiot...it's not a firmware upgrade but a software upgrade...punches self in peepee*

Manually updated this morning, went smooth, phone is really responsive, now. Before my app management took a while to refresh, now, it is instantaneous.

That update file seems to be for 1.47.

HTC has said that they're working on a package to bring all early updaters back into the fold and that this will take a few days.

Don't panic. ;)
