OTA Update Starting today?

I did the same thing Ickselglic did. I received the notification and killed it with task manager. Wasn't thinking I guess. Still haven't received the notification again, so I'm hoping it comes soon, or someone knows how to get it back.

I downloaded that update from the market yesterday. I believe this was the actual 2.0.1.
 
hmmmm thats wierd cause i checked the market at least 3 times today for updates and there were none till 1:00pm PST for the google map update.
 
I've seen the scroll jump in almost any program I'm in...not greasy fingers, greasy-fingered Google programmers. ;)

I'm sure they're aware of it and it will be fixed in one of the upcoming releases...
 
Have any users still on an Alltel plan got an update yet? Wonder if we willl be last.......getting the update scraps like red-headed stepchildren. .... :(
 
Considering only 1,000 people were given the update already, it's even great that some of those are also forum members who can give us information.

That could also mean....many Droid owners are forum members, so we had a good shot :)

I bet there will be a lot of activity on the forums in a little over 2 hours when 9,000 more get the update.

IF you did get the update today, what are your thoughts?

Amazing how people don't check to see if there are any posts on things before they post the same thing for the 8th time :(

So does anyone have any first hand "reviews" of the update? What they find to be better, worse, etc. All I've seen is that there's a new lock screen. ;)
 
I am really dying to know the answer to the three following questions:

- Did the update enable bluetooth voice dialing?
- Did the update fix the IMAP multiple sent emails?
- Did the update add Signatures in POP and EXCHANGE?

Although the new lock screen and widgets are nice, someone please fill us in on the more important issues!

The questions and answers relating to transferring of contacts came about because of changes to bluetooth that are supposed to be coming with the update etc.

This thread was started to answer a simple question, which was: Is the OTA update starting today? That question was answered and this thread has evolved into answering other questions related to the update and folks generally just hanging out and shooting the breeze. If you don't like what's now being discussed perhaps you should just skip this thread rather than trying to dictate what is and isn't talked about.

No. google has better things to do than patch stuff like that. if they wanted to, they would have done it for the G1 and MT3G already.

It's open source and google likes the stuff that the rooting community gives to the platform.

Then I suggest closing the thread if the question has been answered already. It is just getting off topic about the bluetooth transfers. Yes the update includes fixes for bluetooth but does not suggest talking about transferring contacts to dodge avenger navigation systems through bluetooth. Those posts don't belong in this topic. But whatever floats your boat. I'll just wait for my notification and be off from here before you start to flame me (no need to take things that far....)
