2.2 Software fix update coming...

Any Idea on how soon this will roll out? My company runs X's for all the managers and they are all buggy. I'm getting sick of supporting this phone.:mad:

"Future." That covers a lot of ground.

But, to give them credit, when they do attempt a time frame for an OTA release they're setting themselves up.

Might as well just say, "future." ;)
 
If this does roll out, how will it effect "modded" DXs? I'm rooted, deodexed, running a theme. Still atop the OTA 2.3.15 platform, but far from "out of the box" -
 
Newb question here. My phone is running ota 2.2 rooted but not deodexed. When this update comes out can I unroot my phone, install the ota update and re root? Not really sure how all that works.
 
Thank god they are releasing fixes. I know some people even on this board seemed to be in denial that there's nothing wrong with their X's after Froyo but there always was.

He's not saying your phone is messed up, he's saying that his is and everyone that doesn't have problems say there are no problems when there are problems you just might not have them. I didn't have many of the problems with 2.1 that most people had but it doesn't mean the problems didn't exist.

X2...this is how a lot of people in the INC forums act too. And my experience has been full of issues with all 6 Incredibles I used. I find it nearly impossible that anyone has never had any problems with their smartphone, no matter which one it is. It's like people want to love their phone so much they overlook the problems and won't admit anything is there.

That isn't what he said. He said "people seemed to be in denial that there's nothing wrong with THEIR X's."

I never said there weren't problems with others phones.

I only said there were no problems with my phone.

But he said we are in denial about problems with our phones.
 
only problem i have is with the text message list not being in order..

i had the reboot problems with 2.1 but since the 2.2 update it has not rebooted once!!!
 
Mine has randomly rebooted a handful of times (like 3 or 4) since the 2.2 OTA. And I get the battery meter FC from time to time. Other than that I can't think of any other bugs my phone has encountered.

And I think the statement of overlooking problems is about half right. I have no doubts that there are people who've experienced nothing but excellent performance out of their devices. But I'm also certain that there are those who get 5 hours worth of battery life our of their phone and jump on here and say they've been unplugged since last week and the darn little thing just keeps going like the energizer bunny! Because like he said, some people just love their device so much they want to brag on it and build it up to something it's not. But this is not exclusive to phones, people get that way about their cars, their motorcycles, their stereo systems, their girlfirends, etc... it's just one of those traits you see in some people.

It's sort of the same trait as that guy everyone knows... you know the guy I'm talking about, the guy who can't complete an entire sentence without at least 30% of it being fabricated. The guy who lies about everything, thinks he's fooling everyone, but who everyone talks about being the biggest liar on earth when ever he isn't around. He's the guy who, no matter what story you tell, he immediately comes back with one that's just a little bit better. You could be Neil Armstrong telling a group of people about your trip to the moon and he'd cut you off with his story about how he went to the moon twice the same week. Everyone knows that guy.

Well just like there are people who can't tell the truth to save their life, there are also those people who will omit certain problems they're having with something of theirs (in this case a smartphone) and instead brag about it being the greatest thing since sliced bread.

But I still don't doubt that there are phones out there that are bug free.

Please tell me what is wrong with my phone so I can gripe about it.
 
After OTA2.2 I have only 2 gripes and I don't seem them listed probably phantom.

1) stock calendar widget/app doesn't sync with anything I put on Google calendar. Doesn't even see them but still shows sync'd

2) Sometimes web services lock up when on wifi (IMDB app, Queueman, to be specific). Not major but mild annoyance. However probably updates pending or something.

Otherwise I have no stuck issues, no non playing media issues, etc. Oh and I want a new calendar app anyway, just can't make up my mind yet.
 
The only "issue" that I cannot resolve I've had since I got 2.1 on my Eris. It effects all devices I think. When I add an appointment to my calendar on my phone it invites the calendar to itself on Google Cal online. I believe Google is working on a fix...
