well its official now. Froyo is being released OTA in Europe. How hard could it be to port the international version to the US carriers. I mean the only difference between our phones is that we don't have flash and the ffc so shouldn't we get froyo before the international versions?
I know, I know the reason why is because of AT&T and samsung customizing android. Who else wishes all android phones could easily switch between froyo and their htc or touch wiz skins? Google is being way to open about their platform. The biggest hold backs of android are the custom skins(more the ability to not use them and use stock android instead for easy upgrading), and the scattered and lacking marketplace. Its pretty obvious how uncontrolled android is seeing how bing is becoming a pretty standard search engine on verizon phones.
I feel as tho, google is letting android be open as they pass it down to the carriers, but then the carriers aren't being generous to the consumers. I understand taking out tethering because it uses their network, but locking down phones to use bing with no option to switch, and disabling sideloading of apps is going to far.
If only wp7 had multi-tasking, custom ringtones, copy and paste, tethering, and turn-by-turn navigation.
