Root Official unrevoked 3.22 released!!

YES! Finally got my Titanium backups complete and now the rmainder of my day at work is shot. I will be flashing ROMs ALL DAY LONG!

So what would happen if I used it with a SLCD? (sorry for the noob question, but I still don't quite understand the situation with SLCDs and all the rooting guides in this forum)

Your mileage may vary, but for me, everything went OK until I tried a nandroid restore... which made my phone unusable. Others have reported other issues ranging from bricked to problematic black screens with white lines on boot (and no further) to black screen and vibrations, but failure to get into hboot. I would hold off to see what the official Team has to say on this if you have an SLCD.
 
Doing this on a Slcd will only cause your recovery screen not to display. It still works but you won't be able to see it.

That said there are other recovery options out there to get it visible once again. Its really a non-issue and just one extra step to correct,.
 
I just unrevoked 3.22 and it ran beautifully. Thanks to the team!!:D

The OTA nag is still there. how do you get rid of this???:(

Lol if you didn't update, then you didn't need to wait for this new version! But now that you did root, you probably need to flash a rom with the update in it to get rid of the ota nag.

Thanks. I just run the stock ROM and root. Does that mean I need to unroot and apply the OTA and then reroot?

Sorry kinda noob question:)
 
I'm and noob to root and this is a stupid question. Be warned!

So, if I install unrevoked 3.22, does that mean my phone is rooted and I don't have to do anything else? I know there are a ton of different ROMS. And I'm assuming that this is one of them. Am I correct?

I have a similar question. I have the stock 2.2 ROM, rooted, s-off. I Deleted some bloat with Titanium and have not tried to reinstall the bloat. I also have NOT installed the Nov. OTA update.

Can I install the OTA update as is, knowing it will break root, and then just re-root with the new 3.22 UnRevoked? Thanks in advance!
 
I haven't been that big into root before, but I just can't take the bloat anymore, I ran UnrEVOked 3.22 and now it says that it is S-Off, I was under the impression that I needed to run UnrEVOked Forever in order to get S-Off. Should I still run Forever anyway or has this been included with the new update to 3.22?

I would search to make sure there isn't a way to get the update without unrooting, but I think your best bet is to install a ROM that has the update in it and if you like stock sense, there is one out there. I use Myn's ROM and it is very similar.

Otherwise, I guess you can do the unroot/reroot method.

It's included now. No need to run Forever separately anymore.

You can root and never loada ROM if you wish. You are talking about a whole separate ballgame though. Roms are downloaded and then applied via a custom recovery such as Clockwork Mod (standard with Unrevoked for amoled lcd's). So rooting then gives you the ability to load Roms. Not sure if I answered what you were asking but hope so.
 
Weird problem. I'm rooted, and I tried to root another DI tonight. Ran the new unrevoked and it said something like, "can't push recovery.. terminating". Not sure why. So I was screwing around and held down the down volume and power button and it looked like it went into recovery mode as it does on my phone. So I went down to the "recovery" option and hit the power button and got the triangle with an exclamation point. Had to pull the battery, reboot and all was back to normal. What the heck happened and what should I do?

It was stated that he needs to add his own recovery because Clockworkmod wouldn't work with the slcd version
