Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Is there no way to clear the log for the superuser app with this version of ApeX? I don't even see the option, or the ability to check for an update.

Am I missing something?

It'll go to the factory default settings. Whatever you set with autokiller, it will overwrite the ROM's default setting.

rubix focused 1.8.6

I want to go to the newest kernal leak but how, also after i dowload leak i use rsdlite to install?

Then download Apex and install over?

If you are on the 2.3.320 leak all you do is follow the directions in the OP and you are good to go.

You're still on the 2.3.15 (OTA) kernel, so if you want, you can use ApeX 1.0.2.2 without updating to the leak kernel.

If you do choose to use the leak, you can get there by either using the update.zip method, or by downloading the full 2.3.32 SBF and using RSDLite. Then, once you get the new kernel, if you want to use ApeX, you install v1.2.1.

Truth be told, there's very little that's different between the two version, though the leak version does have the newer, T9 dialer (which is awesome IMO).

Yeah, it works just fine with the NVRAM hack from TBH. To get the app back, go to the first post and download the removedapps archive. Extract Mynet.apk from that archive and place it on your sdcard. Then, in terminal emulator, run:

su
install Mynet.apk

and it'll show right back up.

I'm loving the Droid X and I am definitelty interested in the ApeX ROM...
I am running the 2.3.15 version....
Kernel is 2.6.32.9...
Android ver 2.2


I am new to this on the Droid so can someone please explain in detail the following steps:

1. After installing the files on the sd card, what does Bootstrap recovery and reboot recovery mean? Does this mean to go to the Bootstrap recovery app and run these two?

2. Navigate to mounts and storage. FORMAT data, and cache. How do i do this? Can someone explain in detail please....?

3. Return to previous menu and install .zip from sd card. What menu am i supposed to be in to return too to install this .zip file?

bootstrap recovery installs the exploit to enter the custom recovery.
reboot recovery will reboot the phone into the custom recovery.
the rest will make sense once yo are in the recovery console.
 
I love this rom so far, battery life has improved after a few charges, it's great! Something my phone keeps doing though is at random points in the day i'll be texting and when i opens my messages the persons name will not show up in my message list, just their phone numbers show. Then i reboot and all the names are restored. It keeps doing this, at least once a day. any help?
 
Anybody got a link to the update.zip or pm me a link to a site that's hosting it? I don't have my laptop with me so I was hoping to just dl it straight to my phone

Which update are you looking for? are you currently running the OTA? or the leaked 2.2.1?
 
Ota. Im thinking of updating to the leak. I just wanted an easy update.zip to recoverwith if something goes wrong.
 
Are there screencaps of Revolution or NexTheme anywhere? I know I could just install them and restore a backup if I don't like them, but I've had enough phone updating drama for one weekend. :)

when i use the hotspot app with the patch from tbh and try to load a webpage i get sent to some vzw page that says this
Error 500: Invalid action class configuration that references an unknown class named [frontControllerAction]

im confused since my pc is showing on phone as connected and my pc says im connected to my x?:confused:

Here has what I have done.
removed the 3g app completely
installed the original 3g app
rebooted in recovery and applied the patch
and no dice it still doesn't work
