Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Here has what I have done.
removed the 3g app completely
installed the original 3g app
rebooted in recovery and applied the patch
and no dice it still doesn't work
In tbh there is an app then an app patcher that enables the free hotspot ....make sure you have the app via rom or tbh then install the patcher and then should be good to go

Abuh...mine works with WPA?

Did you guys get the Mynet.apk from the new removeapps-1-2 or the older one from ApeX 1.0?

Try using the newer file.

I used the one from this Thread

I did as well and can confirm that mine still is not working ....I have the new mynet ...the patcher from tbh....I can confirm that tether works though .....hey fab I think it may have something to do with us using your mynet and then installing the tbh app rather then just the tbh patcher? Just a thought

What is the Hotspot Hack for? Is that better that wireless tether? or you guys unable to use wireless tether on this Rom? Mine seems to be running just fine...

What am I missing?

It is more reliable than the wireless tether app. The hack makes it so you bypass Verizon when you use the 3G hotspot app so you can use it for free.

Quick follow up to my earlier question about the screen going to sleep while charging: The problem boils down to me being stupid and forgetful. :)

[Settings->Applications->Development->Stay Awake]

(Doh!)

Disregard any troubles I posted about 3g hotspot ....turns out I had wifi enabled on my x while trying to use hotspot lol ......guess I was new tired than I thought!

It also supports WPA/WPA2 encryption and infrastructure mode. Wireless tether is only WEP and ad-hoc.

I installed apex and I am enjoying it. Benchmarks are a little lower than fission, but now I can use hdmi.

I do have one problem though: clockwork rom manager does not boot into recovery.

Just flasked the updated sbf and loaded this up for the first time with Revo. I don't know why I waited so long to try this. Very well done rom! Keep doin what you do Fab!

One quick question, does this rom have beesley prop builds in it?

Did you bootstrap recovery first?

No. I was trying to do a current backup via clockwork which should reboot and open bootstrap recovery, backup the current rom with the name specified, and then boot back into android.

Btw can you add a reboot option to the power button menu?

I think I know why the Blur-newsfeed widget is not updating.

an error about com.motorola.blur.newsfeed is missing.

anyone have a file?

ROM Manager will NOT work unless you bootstrap recovery at least one time with the bootstrap app, period.

I'm looking into the reboot button, but there is no ETA.

Fab - I just tried the LV overclock option. Quadrant System Info shows Maximum Clock is now 1100000000. However, minimum does indicate 300 MHz, but the current speed is showing 1.1 GHz. Before the OC it use to show 300 MHz when I went into this menu. Is this OC not throttling down when it should?

Thanks again - daggerNC

The current speed is exactly that, the speed that it is currently running at. It will change depending on what you phone is doing when you check the system settings.

Whoopsieeee. Installed the Gingerbread keyboard, and now I don't know how to return to the original 1.0.2.2 keyboard Apex had. :p Someone help me! This keyboard is awkwardly small for some reason thanks to Apex. :p

whenever i take a picture, it goes through the motions like it took it and saved it, but when i go to the gallery to view it, it is just the "mountain" picture and the file on my sd is 0 bytes. any suggestions? thx
