Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

you just run them in the terminal emulator, don't forget to ask for root permissions first using 'su'

I've been meaning to ask and this seems the time. Instead of going that route, I open metamorph and reload the old icon, it reboots and reverts back. Seems a bit quicker. Is there a reason to NOT do this? Other than cramming to many icon .xmls into the framework and breaking something?

It makes switching icons quick.

For what it's worth....

1. Switching back to the mot messaging fixed my hancent mms issue.

2. As I said earlier, for those using titanium backup, I had issues everytime I used this when restoring all apps and data. I ended up restoring missing apps and just selected specific pieces of data that I didn't want to lose.

3. As someone had mentioned (forget who) the hotspot program was removed and is available in Fab's zip file in the first or second post. I reinstalled that without issues.

The rom seems to be working great. I really like how smooth things are at the moment. I have noticed battery life is not as good as previous OTA 2.3.15.

I have tried many roms and I always come back to apex its by far my favorite, fab os very helpful and approachable and his rom rocks
 
Circle battery keeps giving me an error in meta. Says theme control file is missing or has not been correctly written.. Any ideas?

yes, if you look at the directions it says this. if you go back into metamorph, press "pick existing theme" then take it from step 6 in my instructions

On the folder and then the file with the meta symbol. Also seems there is an extra circular battery folder. I have to open up 2 folders before I see the file with the meta symbol.

yeah there are two circle battery folders (one inside of the other) I packed it up with one too many, but if your getting to the Metamorph symbol xml file I dont know why its not working for you.... I've never had any of them not work from there, and it seems others have been able to get that file to work as well...

Yeah I have been able to get others to work properly, not sure either. Oh well.

if you want to try it again, I just updated the post with a new link to one that doesnt (or atleast shouldnt) have that extra folder. Maybe that was an issue for yours :::shrugs:::

Man thats cool of you.. Thanks. Unfortunately having the same issue even after re downloading and starting from step 1. Wonder if it would be possible to get a zip that would install via clockwork? Not to sure about that one though..

yeah that was my original plan for getting this to people but when i looked into how to do it, it was over my head (at least for the time being, im still trying to figure it out) but because people were still asking for it I decided to go with the metamorph zip for now. once I figure out how to do an update zip (if I figure it out) ill post that too but I cant promise anything there.

I haven't had LPP widgets work right since 2.2.1. They always exceed the size of one screen.

What clock/weather widget is that?

BTW,
Loving 1.3 so far. Only had a couple weird issues (gallery froze causing a reboot, screen stopped responding), but consdiering I had 3-4 random reboots on 320 I'm not complaining.

TiBu was a disaster coming from 320. About a third of my apps restored, the rest caused instant reboots.
 
i just flashed revolution theme since i was sick of the gb theme lol and i think revolution is a lot nicer but i have a question i like the lock screen from the stock apex this went back to revolutions lock screen with the slide to unlock towards the middle i want the vanilla android lockscreen with the sliders on the bottom. how can i accomplish this??
 
Im on 340 and my pics wont save when i snap a pic. just blank?

and whats the fix for the little GB keyboard its super small.
 
OK, I finally got an update.zip put together for the Glowing Circle Battery on ApeX.
It is the entire framework-res.apk from ApeX 1.3 with the circle battery icons instead of the GB ones. So if you have a theme over ApeX (or any changes to the framework) it will put it back to normal ApeX 1.3 with the circle battery
Install this just like any other update.zip
download ApeX_Circle_Battery.zip
bootstrap recovery
install zip from sdcard
choose zip
ApeX_Circle_Battery.zip
reboot

no need to wipe anything
as always make a backup just in case! but this works perfect on my phone
